Skinny-128-384와 Romulus-N의 SITM 공격 (SITM Attacks on Skinny-128-384 and Romulus-N)

  • SITM (See-In-The-Middle)은 부채널 정보를 차분 분석에 활용하는 분석 기법이다. 이 공격은 블록암호 구현시 마스킹 되지 않은 중간 라운드의 전력 파형을 수집하여 공격자의 차분 패턴을 만족하는 평문 쌍을 선별하고 이를 차분 분석에 활용하여 키를 복구한다. NIST 경량 암호 표준화 공모사업의 최종 후보 중 하나인 Romulus는 Tweakable 블록암호 Skinny-128-384+를 기반으로 한다. 본 논문에서는 SITM 공격을 14-라운드 부분 마스킹 구현된 Skinny-128-384에 적용하였다. 이 공격은 기 제안된 결과보다 depth를 한 라운드 증가한 것뿐만 아니라 시간/데이터 복잡도를 214.93/214.93으로 줄였다. Depth는 전력 파형을 수집하는 블록암호의 라운드 위치를 뜻하며, 이 공격에 대응하기 위해 부분 마스킹 기법 적용 시 필요한 적절한 마스킹 라운드 수를 측정할 수 있다. 더 나아가 공격을 Romulus의 Nonce 기반 AE 모드 Romulus-N으로 확장하였으며, Tweakey의 구조적 특징을 이용하면 Skinny-128-384보다 적은 복잡도로 공격할 수 있음을 보인다.

A mechanical model of vehicle-slab track coupled system with differential subgrade settlement

  • Post-construction subgrade settlement especially differential settlement, has become a key issue in construction and operation of non-ballasted track on high-speed railway soil subgrade, which may also affect the dynamic performance of passing trains. To estimate the effect of differential subgrade settlement on the mechanical behaviors of the vehicle-slab track system, a detailed model considering nonlinear subgrade support and initial track state due to track self-weight is developed. Accordingly, analysis aiming at a typical high-speed vehicle coupled with a deteriorated slab track owing to differential subgrade settlement is carried out, in terms of two aspects: (i) determination of an initial mapping relationship between subgrade settlement and track deflections as well as contact state between track and subgrade based on a semi-analytical method; (ii) simulation of dynamic performance of the coupled system by employing a time integration approach. The investigation indicates that subgrade settlement results in additional track irregularity, and locally, the contact between the concrete track and the soil subgrade is prone to failure. Moreover, wheel-rail interaction is significantly exacerbated by the track degradation and abnormal responses occur as a result of the unsupported areas. Distributions of interlaminar contact forces in track system vary dramatically due to the combined effect of track deterioration and dynamic load. These may not only intensify the dynamic responses of the coupled system, but also have impacts on the long-term behavior of the track components.

고용성장율 시차분석을 통한 산업기반의 확충방안 - 충남지역의 사례 - (Promotion strategy of Economic Base through Employment Growth Analysis)

  • This paper primarily aims to analyze the growth rate differentials of the economic activities in chung-Nam area. The research has been undertaken to find out the potentials of the economic activities and economic bases in the area. To analyze the economic potentials of the industries, the study employed the economic Growth Rate Differential Analysis by Henderson which is revised form of Shift-Share Analysis Methods. The research employed the employment data according to the standardized two-digit-classification-system during the period of 10 years from 1981 through 1991. The Growth Rate Differential Analysis calculates Total Growth Differentials which are dicomposed into two parts: Weight Part and Rate Part. Total Growth Differential can be calculated as the difference between national growth rate and regional growth rate by industry. The foundings are as follows: First, the economic bases of Chung-Nam area were found to be very weak, largely depending on primary industries such as agriculture and fisheries. Second, there was a great decline in urban industries in Tae Joeon, Cheon An and other cities over period of 1971-1981. It is strongly recommended that the planned items and products of each industrial complex must be reorgnized in a fashion to match those with high competitive power found in this research.

Thermal-flow analysis of a simple LTD (Low-Temperature-Differential) heat engine

  • A combined thermal and flow analysis was carried out to study the behavior and performance of a small, commercial LTD (Low-Temperature-Differential) heat engine. Laminar-flow solutions for annulus and channel flows were employed to estimate the viscous drags on the piston and the displacer and the pressure difference across the displacer. Temperature correction factors were introduced to account for the departure from the ideal heat transfer processes. The analysis results indicate that the work required to overcome the viscous drags on engine moving parts and to move the displacer is much smaller than the moving-boundary work produced by the power piston for temperature differentials in the neighborhood of $20^{\circ}C$ and engine speeds below 10 RPS. A comparison with experimental data reveals large degradations from the ideal heat transfer processes. Thus, heat-transfer devices inside the displacer cylinder are recommended.

Modeling of the State Transition Equations of Power Systems with Non-continuously Operating Elements by the RCF Method

  • In conventional small signal stability analysis, the system is assumed to be invariant and the state space equations are used to calculate the eigenvalues of the state matrix. However, when a system contains switching elements such as FACTS equipments, it becomes a non-continuous system. In this case, a mathematically rigorous approach to system small signal stability analysis is performed by means of eigenvalue analysis of the system's periodic transition matrix based on the discrete system analysis method. In this paper, the RCF (Resistive Companion Form) method is used to analyze the small signal stability of a non-continuous system including switching elements. Applying the RCF method to the differential and integral equations of the power system, generator, controllers and FACTS equipments including switching devices should be modeled in the form of state transition equations. From this state transition matrix, eigenvalues that are mapped into unit circles can be computed precisely.

체성분 분석용 칩 설계 (A Chip Design of Body Composition Analyzer)

  • 본 논문에서는 신체 임피던스 측정법(Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, 이하 BIA)을 기초로 한 체지방 측정 칩 설계에 대한 내용을 서술하였다. 제안된 회로는 인체에 전류 신호를 인가하는 회로, 인체를 통해 나온 전압 신호를 측정하는 회로, 회로의 동작을 제어하는 마이크로 콘트롤러(Micom), 그리고 분석프로그램이 내장된 메모리(SRAM, EEPROMs) 의 모든 기능을 하나의 칩에 집적하였다. 특히 정밀한 인체 임피던스 측정을 위하여 다주파수 동작이 가능한 대역통과필터(Band Pass Filter, BPF)를 설계하였다. 또한, 설계된 대역통과필터는 weak inversion 영역에서 동작하기 때문에 면적과 전력소모를 줄일 수 있었다. 그리고 측정부분 회로의 성능을 개선하기 위해서 차동차이증폭기(Differential difference amplifier, DDA)를 이용한 새로운 전파정류기(Full wave rectifier, FWR)를 설계하였다. 또한 이 회로는 마지막 단에 연결될 아날로그-디지털 변환기(ADC)의 설계에 대한 부담을 덜어주는 장점도 있다. 이 칩의 시제품은 CMOS 0.35um 공정을 이용하였고 전력소모는 모든 주파수에서 6mW 이며 전원전압은 3.3V이다. 전체 칩의 크기는 $5mm\times5mm$ 이다.

2.5MW 풍력발전기 동력분기식 기어트레인의 진동특성 (Vibration characteristics of power differential gear train for 2.5MW wind turbine)

  • 본 연구에서는 스퍼 유성기어시스템 2단, 헬리컬기어 시스템 1단으로 구성되어 있고, 메인 축과 증속기가 플랜지 결합되어 있는 동력분기식 2.5MW 풍력발전기에 대해 진동해석을 수행하였다. 유성기어시스템, 헬리컬기어시스템, 메인 축 등은 MASTA 상용프로그램으로 모델링하고, 기어박스 케이스, 토크암, 유성캐리어, 플랜지 등은 유한요소법으로 모델링하였으며, 부분구조합성법으로 조합하여 진동해석을 수행하였다. 2.5MW 동력분기식 풍력발전기 기어트레인의 고유진동 특성 해석을 수행하였고, 블레이드 풍하중에 의한 가진, 질량불평형, 축 어긋남 등에 발생하는 가진원에 대해 위험속도 분석을 하였다.

Differential Side Channel Analysis Attacks on FPGA Implementations of ARIA

  • In this paper, we first investigate the side channel analysis attack resistance of various FPGA hardware implementations of the ARIA block cipher. The analysis is performed on an FPGA test board dedicated to side channel attacks. Our results show that an unprotected implementation of ARIA allows one to recover the secret key with a low number of power or electromagnetic measurements. We also present a masking countermeasure and analyze its second-order side channel resistance by using various suitable preprocessing functions. Our experimental results clearly confirm that second-order differential side channel analysis attacks also remain a practical threat for masked hardware implementations of ARIA.

  • Micro hydraulic turbines take a growing interest because of its small and simple structure as well as high possibility of applying to micro and small hydropower resources. The differential pressure exiting within the city water pipelines can be used efficiently to generate electricity like the energy generated through gravitational potential energy in dams. In order to reduce water pressure at the inlet of water cleaning centers, pressure reducing valves are used widely. Therefore, pressure energy is wasted. Instead of using the pressure reduction valve, a micro counter-rotating hydraulic turbine can be replaced to get energy caused by the large differential pressure found in the city water pipelines. In this study, in order to acquire design data of counter-rotating tubular type micro-turbine, output power, head, and efficiency characteristics due to the diffuser.

  • The differential pressure method has been used in the level measurement of steam generator in nuclear power plant. Two sensing lines from a steam generator to a pressure transmitter are needed to measure the high pressure and low pressure. The fluid conditions in the sensing line require the uniform phase with no bubbles and the slope of sensing line should be installed with forward slope. The expansion of the bubble volume according to the upper pressure and the reverse slope of sensing lines explain how the level errors took place.
