계란형질들과 난황 콜레스테롤 수준에 대한 닭의 계통과 키토산의 첨가 수준간의 상호작용 효과 (Line-by-Level of Chitosan Interaction on Egg Traits and Yolk Cholesterol Level in Laying Hens)

  • 백색란 계통인 Hy-line W-98과 갈색란 계통인 Hy-line Brown을 이용하여 주요 계란의 형질들과 난황 콜레스테롤 수준에 닭의 계통과 키토산의 첨가수준간의 상호작용 관계를 구명하고자 시험한 결과 난중에 대해서는 키토산의 첨가가 두 계통간에 서로 대조적인 경향을 나타내어 Hy-line Brown 계통에서만 키토산의 첨가가 난중의 증가에 기여했다. 평균 난백의 비율은 Hy-line Brown종에서는 키토산 첨가 그룹들과 대조구간에 유의한 타이를 나타내지 못했다. Hy-line W-98종에 있어서 C $H_{60}$구는 대조구에 비해서 평균난백의 비율이 유의하게(P<0.05) 낮았으나, C $H_{30}$구는 대조구와 별 차이가 없었다. 한편 평균 난황의 비율은 평균 난백의 비율에서 나타났던 경향과 반대로 Hy-line W-98종은 C $H_{60}$구가 대조구에 비해서, 그리고 Hy-line Brown은 C $H_{30}$구가 대조구에 비해서 유의하게(P<0.05)난황의 비율이 더 높게 나타났다. 평균 난각의 비율에 대해서는 두 계통 모두 키토산의 첨가로 난각의 질을 향상시키지는 못했다. 그러나 평균 난황콜레스테롤의 수준에 있어서는 두 계통 모두키토산 첨가구들이 대조구에 비해서 난황 Ig당 0.46mg~2.80mg정도가 더 낮은 것으로 나타났고, 특별히 Hy-line W-98종의 C $H_{60}$구는 대조구에 비해서 난황콜레스테롤의 수준은 유의한(P<0.05) 차이를 나타냈다. 그리고 자의 계통과 키토산 첨가수준간 상호작용 효과에 관한 유의성 분석결과 4개 시험 주령 전테 평균 난중(P<0.01), 난중에 대한 난백의 비율(P<0.05), 난황의 비율(P<0.01) 및 난각의 비율(P<0.05)은 모두 유의한 결과를 나타냈다. 한편, 전체 평균 난황콜레스테롤 수준에 대해서는 이들 두 요인간에 유의한 상호작용 효과를 나타내지 않았으나, 시험주령별 유의성 분석결과에서는 4개 시험주령 중 3개 시험주령에서 자의 계통과 키토산 첨가수준간에 유의한 상호작용 효과(P<0.01)를 나타냈다.

사료중 Blended Essential Oil(CRINA®) 첨가가 육계의 생산성과 영양소 이용률, 소장 내 미생물 균총 및 계육내 지방산 조성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Blended Essential Oil(CRINA®) Supplementation on the Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Small Intestinal Microflora and Fatty Acid Composition of Meat in Broiler Chickens)

  • Blended essential oil(CRINA$^{\circledR}$) 첨가가 육계의 생산성과 영양소 이용률, 계육내 지방산 조성, 소장 내 미생물 균총 및 혈액지질 조성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 갓 부화한 1000수의 Ross$^{\circledR}$ 병아리를 5처리 4반복, 반복 당 50수를 임의 배치하여 5주간 사양시험을 실시하였다. 시험사료는 대조구 사료(T1)와 Avilamycin 5ppm(전기사료) & Flavomycin 5ppm(육성기사료) 첨가사료(T2), Avilamycin 5ppm(전기사료) & CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm(육성기사료) 첨가사료(T3), CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm(전기사료, 육성기사료) 첨가사료(T4), CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm + Lactic acid 500ppm (전기사료, 육성기사료) 첨가사료(T5)를 만들어 급여하였다. 증체율은 첨가구들(T2-T5)이 대조구에 비해 유의하게 높았으나 첨가구들 사이에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 육성기(4-5주) 동안 CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 첨가구들(T3, T4, T5)에서 사료요구율(F/G)이 유의하게 개선되었다. 사망률은 처리에 의해 유의한 영향을 받지 않았다. CRINA$^{\circledR}$구(T4)는 항생제구(T2)에 비해 지방, 메치오닌, 메치오닌+시스틴의 이용율이 유의하게 높았다. 장 내용물중의 미생물 균총중 E. coli 수는 항생제 & CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm구(T3)가 CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm구(T4)에 비해 유의하게 적었다. Cl. Perfringens의 수는 CRINAⓇ구(T4)에서 가장 적었으나 유의차는 없었다. 혈청 중성지방 수준은 CRINA$^{\circledR}$+lactic acid구(T5)가 항생제구(T2) 보다 유의하게 낮았다. 혈청 콜레스테롤 수준은 항생제구(T2)와 CRINA$^{\circledR}$ + lactic acid구(T5)가 타처리구들 보다 유의하게 높았다. 혈청 HDL 수준은 첨가구들이 대조구(T1)보다 유의하게 높았다. 혈청 IgG 수준은 처리간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 다리 근육지방의 지방산조성은 처리에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었는데 palmitic acid (C$_{16:0}$)와 stearic acid(C$_{18:0}$) 함량은 대조구(T1)가 유의하게 높았다. 반면에 oleic acid(C$_{18:1}$)의 함량은 대조구(T1)가 타처리구에 비해 유의하게 낮았다. Linolenic acid(C$_{18:3}$)의 함량은 CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm + lactic acid 500ppm구(T5)가 항생제 & CRINA$^{\circledR}$ 50ppm구(T3) 보다 유의하게 높았다. 총 포화지방산의 함량은 대조구(T1)가 유의하게 높은 반면 총불포화지방산의 함량은 대조구(T1)가 유의하게 낮았다. 결론적으로 육계사료에 CRINA$^{\circledR}$를 첨가하면 증체율이나 사료효율을 개선시켰다. 그러나 전기에 항생제를 쓰고 육성기에 CRINA$^{\circledR}$를 쓰거나 CRINA$^{\circledR}$와 젖산을 같이 사용시 추가적 또는 상승효과는 없었다.

  • This study was investigated the effects of feeding the combination with Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis on the diarrhea incidence and fecal microflora of weaned calves. A total of 12 newly weaned calves were allocated to two dietary treatments in a randomized design based on body weight. The dietary treatments included a commercial basal diet supplemented with: 1) no microbial inoculants (Control); 2) a mixture of Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis (LB). Calves were fed diets for a 4-week period. At the end of the experiment, the counts of fecal lactic acid bacteria and Enterobacteriaceae in LB were significantly improved compared to control (P<0.05). Over the 4-week period, fecal scores and duration of diarrhea in LB were significantly decreased compared with those in control (P<0.05). The present results suggest that LB is a potential feed additive which could be used for the balance of intestinal microflora and the prevention of diarrhea in Korean native calves.

Effect of Spirulina platensis and Probiotics as Feed Additives on Growth of Shrimp Fenneropenaeus chinensis

  • The effect of Spirulina platens is and probiotics as feed additives on the growth of the shrimp Fenneropenaeus chinensis was investigated in comparison with a control. The shrimp were cultured in rearing tanks in a seawater pond for 35 days from September 1, 2004. As regards the water quality, the probiotic treatment (T2, commercial diet and 3% probiotics) produced a lower TDN (total dissolved nitrogen) and TDP (total dissolved phosphorus), making it effective in water quality improvement. Nonetheless, the phytoplankton flora succeeded from diatoms to cyanobacteria, regardless of the feed additives. Treatment T3, including 3% S. platensis, produced the highest mean body weight, which was 39% higher than that for all the other treatments (P<0.05). Accordingly, it was found that the use of Spirulina and probiotics as feed additives increased the shrimp body weight and improved the water quality, respectively.

  • Crocin was extracted from Gardenia fructus in order to manufacture a natural food dye. In the extraction and purification process methanol and ethanol were used as the most Suitable solvent selected in preliminary test and 9.28%g/100g of Cretin product in 99.89% of purity was acquired. The lethal dose of Cretin administered in mouse by intra peridoneal was 5.36g/kg which is much lower toxic than any other. The toxic dose which caused diarrhoea in rat was 2.55g/kg and maximum no effect level was found to be 272mg/kg. From the $1%{\sim}2.5%$ content of Crocin in rat diet reduction of body weight appeared and GTP and GOT (Transaminase) value in creased significantly. Crocin showed a good properties of tolerating acid, alkali, sunlight, reductant, oxidant, and salt compared with tar dyes. The range from 100 ppm to 500ppm bring out bright $yellow{\sim}orange$ color, the most effective color, with a good solubility in water-slightly in oil. The acceptable daily intake of crocin was calculated as 2.72mg/kg based on maximum no effect dose (2% additive dose).

Soy Isoflavones Do Not Alter the Effects of Fructooligosaccharide on the Intestinal Ecosystem of Colon-Cancer Model Rats

  • This study sought to investigate any additive or interactive effects that soy isoflavones may have on the ecosystem of the gut, which is influenced by fructooligosaccharide (FOS) in colon-cancer model rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats treated with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine were given experimental diets containing 0, 3, 6, or 9% FOS with or without 0.1% soy isoflavone for 12 weeks. In addition to the effects of FOS dosage on the gut ecosystem, dietary supplementation with soy isoflavone reduced the number of colonic aberrant crypts (ACs). The fecal weight, fecal pH, and gut transit time significantly decreased in a dose-dependent manner in rats fed FOS and the fecal concentration of bifidobacteria was higher in rats fed FOS than in control rats. The fecal output of total short-chain fatty acids, acetate, and propionate was significantly increased by the presence of FOS and was negatively correlated with the number of ACs, whereas the fecal output of butyrate showed no significant correlation with FOS dosage. The addition of soy isoflavone to the diet did not result in any significant differences in gut ecosystem parameters. Therefore, we conclude that the suppressive effect of soy isoflavone on ACs was not associated with the intestinal ecosystem, which was significantly altered by the dosage of FOS.

초고압가공기술을 이용한 건강지향형 수산물 스프레드 제품 개발을 위한 10대와 20대의 인식 조사 (Survey of Young Consumers to Develop Fish & Seaweed Spread for Healthy Diet using High Pressure Processing)

  • Our final goal was to manufacture low-calorie healthy seafood spreads using high pressure processing. Prior to developing the spread products, we performed a nationwide survey of consumers aged in their teens and twenties (n=585). The questionnaire was designed to gain insights from consumers on spread products, including Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), recipes, market prospects, etc. Consumers responded that 'price, calorie, fat content, sanitary, nutrition, and food additive' should be improved, in that order. They also thought that fruits and vegetables are highly acceptable in recipes of seafood spreads. In addition, consumers pointed that we should concentrate on 'taste, sanitary, flavor, nutrition, and price' to make spreads more successful. Regarding market prospects, consumers rated spreads with scores over 2.96/5.00, which means the market for seafood spreads is sufficient. The consumers' response provided guidelines for developing and manufacturing low-calorie healthy seafood spreads.

산란계 사료 내 칼슘의 수준별 첨가 급여가 생산성 및 계란 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding High and Low Ca Additive on Laying Performance and Egg Quality in Laying Hens)

  • 본 연구는 산란계에 있어 오전오후 사료 분리급여를 위한 실용적 방법을 모색하고자 고칼슘수준(칼슘 3.7%) 사료와 저칼슘사료(칼슘 0.3%) 2가지 기초사료에 석회석을 정확히 칭량한 후 배합사료 위에 고루 뿌려 주면서 0, 10g 및 20g씩을 각각 급여하여 산란생산성 및 계란품질에 미치는 효과를 구명하였다. 시험 전기간 동안 산란율, 난중 및 1일 산란량에서는 처리구간 유의적 차이는 나타나지 않았으나 시험 기간이 지나면서 칼슘 3.7% 수준에서 석회석을 10g 추가 급여한 처리구와 무칼슘 사료에 칼슘 10g 별도 급여 처리구에서 산란율이 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 칼슘 및 석회석 섭취량은 공급수준이 증가할수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났는데 고칼슘 급여구가 저칼슘에 비하여 다소 낮은 경향을 보였다. 난각강도 및 난각두께는 석회석을 추가 급여한 처리구에서 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 혈액 생화학분석에서 glucose는 관행수준 칼슘급여량이 칼슘 추가 급여구에 비하여 높은 수준을 보였다(P<0.05). Total protein은 고칼슘 급여구가 상대적으로 높은 수준을 보였으며 Inorganic P은 고칼슘 급여구에서 전반적으로 높았으나(p<0.05), 처리구간 비교 시 일정한 경향을 나타내지는 않았다. 따라서, 결과적으로 본시험에서는 고칼슘 사료 내 석회석의 추가 급여 하였을 때 10g 정도가 적절하였으며 일정기간이 지나면서 생산성 및 계란품질에 있어 개선효과가 나타나는 것으로 알 수 있었다.

Effects of Taurine Supplementation on the Growth Performance of Juvenile Rock Bream Oplegnathus fasciatus

  • An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary taurine supplementation on the growth performance of juvenile rock bream, Oplegnathus fasciatus. Triplicate groups of 25 fish averaging $2.72{\pm}0.04$ g ($mean{\pm}SD$) were fed one of six experimental diets prepared by adding taurine at 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 3.0% (Control, $Tau_{0.25}$, $Tau_{0.5}$, $Tau_{1.0}$, $Tau_{1.5}$ and $Tau_{3.0}$, respectively). At the end of the feeding trial, the weight gain, specific growth rate and protein efficiency ratio of fish fed the $Tau_{0.5}$, $Tau_{1.0}$ and $Tau_{1.5}$ diets were significantly higher (P < 0.05) than those of fish fed the Control and $Tau_{0.25}$ diets. The feed efficiency of fish fed the $Tau_{0.5}$ diet was significantly higher than that of fish fed the Control, $Tau_{0.25}$ and $Tau_{3.0}$ diets. Fish fed the $Tau_{1.0}$ diet had higher whole-body crude protein content than fish fed the Control diet, while the crude lipid content of fish fed the $Tau_{1.5}$ and $Tau_{3.0}$ diets was significantly lower than that of fish fed the Control and $Tau_{0.25}$ diets. An ANOVA suggested that the optimum level of dietary taurine supplementation to improve growth and reduce the body lipid contents of juvenile rock bream, O. fasciatus, was 0.5%, while a broken line analysis of weight gain indicated a level of 0.62%.

Effects of Dietary Inclusion of Red Ginseng Byproduct on Growth, Body Composition, Serum Chemistry, and Lysozyme Activity in Juvenile Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

  • This study examined the effects of the dietary inclusion of various concentrations of red ginseng byproduct (RB) and a mixture containing red ginseng byproduct, garlic extract, yeast and filler (CR) on the growth, body composition, serum chemistry, and lysozyme activity of juvenile olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus). Juvenile fish (n= 630) weighing 5.0 g were randomly distributed into 21 180 L flow-through tanks (30 fish/tank). Seven experimental diets were prepared in triplicate: a control diet without additive, and diets containing 0.5, 1 and 2% concentrations of RB (RB-0.5, RB-1, RB-2) and CR (CR-0.5, CR-1, CR-2) at the expense of wheat flour. After an 8-week feeding trial, serum chemistry and lysozyme activity of fish were measured. Mean weight gain was significantly higher in fish fed the control diet than in fish fed the RB and CR diets. The dietary inclusion of RB and CR reduced feed utilization. Mean serum glucose and triglyceride (TG) levels were higher in fish fed the control diet than in fish fed the other diets. Mean glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) levels of fish fed the control and RB-2 diets were higher than those of fish fed the RB-0.5, RB-1, CR-1, and CR-2 diets. Mean lysozyme activity levels of fish fed the RB-0.5 and RB-1 diets were higher than those of fish fed the control and CR diets. The results of this study indicate that red ginseng byproduct may be utilized as an immunostimulant rather than as a growth promoter for juvenile olive flounder. Dietary inclusion of 0.5% red ginseng byproduct effectively improved serum glucose, GPT, TG, and lysozyme activity of the fish in this study.
