주파수영역 스펙트럼 반응을 이용한 불포화토의 염분농도 측정에 관한 연구 (Spectrum response of frequency range for the unsaturated soil by salinity concentration)

  • In this study we carried out to evaluate the salinity concentration and volumetric water content of unsaturated soil column using frequency domain Reflectometry with vector network analyzer (FDR-V) measurement system. All of experiments were considered to the effect of temperature which ranges from l0$^{\circ}C$ to 50$^{\circ}C$ increasing the interval of l0$^{\circ}C$ controlled by the constant temperature container. From the results the responses of complex dielectric constant which consist of the real part and imaginary parts have the effect of volumetric water content and concentration of salinity at 1GHz. Use of derived equations (1) and (2) can be calculated the physical parameters such as volumetric water content and salinity concentration of unsaturated media by the responses of complex dielectric constant.

  • Electrowetting is prevailing for its various applicability on lap-on-a-chip, and MEMS devices, such as a pump, lens, micro-actuator in the micro-TAS technology. In the usual electrowetting, an AC power is preferred to DC practically. The AC electric field delays the contact angle-saturation, decreases the hysterisis, and is more stable in the view point of dielectric strength. But researches for AC electric field on electrowetting have not been reported very much yet. The different effect of AC on the electrowetting system, especially the effect of a frequency needs to be understood more concretely. In this work, the usual system for electrowetting, water droplet on the dielectric coated electrode (EWOD) is analyzed. Experimental study on the response of contact angles on input frequencies is performed. The simple circuit-model for EWOD system is considered to explain the experimental results. For more concrete understanding, the system is analyzed numerically, where simple AC-conduction model is used. Wetting tensions are analyzed under various input frequency to excavate the experimental results for the responses of the system on input frequencies.

$(Pb_{1-x}La_x)(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ 박막의 La 치환량에 따른 특성 (Characteristics of $(Pb_{1-x}La_x)(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ thin films as a function of La content)

  • The electrical characteristics associated with crystal structure changes as a function of La content for $(Pb_{1-x}La_x)(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ thin films were investigated for applications in memory capacitors. Tetragonality of PLZT films decreased with increasing La content. Thin films with La $\geq$ 20 mol% were found to be cubic. Films with La $\geq$ 12 mol% exhibited broader dielectric peaks compared to those of bulk ceramics and behaved as relaxer ferroelectrics. Tetragonal PLZT film with 12 mol% La had a dielectric constant maximum of 1330 at room temperature and a charge storage density of ${\sim}18{\mu}C/cm^2$ at 5 V. Decrease in coercive field and remnant polarization with increase in La content were resulting from less dipolar response caused by the decreased crystal anisotropy. The leakage current densities $<10^{-8}A/cm^2$ up to 5 V bias voltage were observed for the films with La $\geq$ 14 mol%.

  • Frequency-dependent electrical properties of $C_{22}$-Quinolinium(TCNQ) LB films were investigated in a frequency range of 10[Hz]-13[MHz] along a perpendicular direction. The films were heat-treated to understand an electrodynamic response in a temperature range of 20-240[.deg. C]. Frequencydependent dielectric constants show that there are two characteristic dispersions; one is a dispersion occuring near 1[MHz] coming from the orientational polarization of the molecules and the other one is an interfacial polarization effect below 1[kHz] or so when the annealing temperature is above 80 [.deg. C]. The overall frequency-dependent dielectric constant is higher near 80[.deg. C]. It may be due to a softness of the alkyl chains. Several other methods were employed to identify the internal structure change of the films. DSC(differential scanning calorimetry) data of the $C_{22}$-Quinolinium(TCNQ) molecules shows that there is an endothermic process near 110[.deg. C] and a weak exothermic process near 180[.deg. C]. While the endothermic process is related to a disordering of the alkyl chains, the exothermic process seems to be due to a chemical structure change of the TCNQ molecules. Thickness measurement by ellipsometry shows that there is a thickness drop near 100[.deg. C], and the thickness above 120[.deg. C] becomes around 20[%] of the room-temperature value.lue.

High-performance filtering power divider based on air-filled substrate integrated waveguide technology

  • A filtering power divider based on air-filled substrate-integrated waveguide (AFSIW) technology is proposed in this study. The AFSIW structure is used in the proposed filtering power divider for substantially reducing the transmission losses. This structure occupies a large area because of the use of air as a dielectric instead of typical dielectric materials. A filtering power divider provides power division and frequency selectivity simultaneously in a single device. The proposed filtering power divider comprises three AFSIW cavities. The filtering function is achieved using symmetrical inductive posts. The input and output ports of the proposed circuit are realized by directly connecting coaxial lines to the AFSIW cavities. This transition from the coaxial line to the AFSIW cavity eliminates the additional transitions, such as AFSIW-SIW and SIW-conductor-backed coplanar waveguide, applied in existing AFSIW circuits. The proposed power divider with a second-order bandpass filtering response is fabricated and measured at 5.5 GHz. The measurement results show that this circuit has a minimum insertion loss of 1 dB, 3-dB fractional bandwidth of 11.2%, and return loss exceeding 11 dB.

  • 반도체 공정의 미세화 및 마이크로 시스템 기술의 발전 그리고 소형 무선PAN 및 이동통신 장치들의 급증으로 인하여 전자부품들의 소형화와 직접화에 대한 요구가 지속적으로 증가되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 휴대형 무선PAN 및 이동통신용 전자회로 설계에 다양한 목적으로 널리 사용되고 있는 기저대역의 수동소자들 중 미세 커패시터의 안정성과 전기적 특성을 확보하기 위하여, 유전체인 AIN을 사용하여 MIM구조로 제작된 미세 박막 커패시터 소자의 전기적인 특성을 분석하고 기저대역에서의 성능을 평가한다. 또한 제작된 미세 박막형 커패시터의 용량제어 방법을 제시함으로서 기저대역에서 범용으로 사용할 수 있는 미세 박막 커패시터의 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 또한, 주파수 대역에 따른 MIM구조의 AIN 커패시터 특성을 분석함으로서 향후 임베디드 소자와 집적화를 위한 고정밀의 미세수동 소자로서의 활용방안을 제시하고자한다.

유전율에 의한 지반 매질내 유류침투거동 분석 (Evaluation of Oil Infiltration Behavior in Porous Media Using Dielectric Response)

  • 지반오염을 조사하기 위해서는 시추작업을 통하여 시료를 채취하는 방법이 일반적이지만, 실시간으로 원위치에서 다양한 오염물질들의 오염 도 변화를 체계적으로 모니터링 하는 것은 대단히 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) 장비를 고안하여 지반의 유류오염을 파악하기 위한 유전율 측정법의 실험적 접근을 시도하였다. 구체적으로 포화 및 불포화 매질에 대한 유류 오염도 측정 및 체적함수비 (θ/sub w/)와 체적 유류비 ( θ/sub al/)의 관계에서 유전율 상수 반응에 따른 매질의 유류 오염도 등의 측정 가능성을 실내 시험을 통해 검토하였다. 뿐만 아니라 실내 칼럼 시험을 수행하여 포화 매질 내에서 유류 거동 특성을 각기 설치된 FDR 측정 센서를 이용해 모니터링하여 포화 매질의 유효공극률과 유류 잔류비를 측정하였다. 그 결과 초기 공극률 0.40으로 제작된 포화 매질의 유효공극률은 약 0.35로 공극률 대비 약 87.5% 범위내에 존재함을 알 수 있었으며, 유류 잔류비는 약 62.5% 정도로 매우 높게 나타났다.

고온에서 급속열산화법으로 형성된 탄탈륨산화막의 수소응답특성 (Hydrogen Response Characteristics of Tantalum Oxide Layer Formed by Rapid Thermal Oxidation at High Temperatures)

  • 약 1.12 ev의 밴드갭 에너지를 갖는 실리콘은 동작 온도가 250 ℃ 이하로 제한되어, 밴드갭 에너지가 큰 SiC 기판을 이용한 MIS(metal-insulator-semiconductor) 구조의 시료를 제작하여 고온에서 수소 응답 특성을 고찰하였다. 적용된 유전체 박막은 수소가스에 대해 침투성이 강하고 고온에서 안정성을 보이는 탄탈륨 산화막(Ta2O5)으로, 스퍼터링으로 증착된 탄탈륨(Ta)을 900 ℃의 온도에서 급속열산화법(RTO)으로 형성하였다. 이렇게 형성된 탄탈륨 산화막은 TEM, SIMS, 및 누설전류 측정을 통해, 두께, 원소들의 깊이 분포 및 절연특성을 분석하였다. 수소가스 응답특성은 0부터 2,000 ppm의 수소가스 농도에 대해, 상온으로부터 200와 400 ℃의 온도에서 정전용량의 변화로 평가하였다. 그 결과, 시료로부터 감도가 우수하고, 약 60초의 응답 시간을 나타내는 특성을 확인하였다.

혼합된 polymer에서의 틸트 감소 효과를 이용한 VA-$\pi$ mode LCD의 전기광학 특성 (EO Characteristics in the Vertical Alignment (VA)-$\pi$ mode LCD Using the Tilt Angle Decrease Effect on the Blended Polymer)

  • Blending effects for generating a pretilt angle in nematic liquid crystal (NLC) with negative dielectric anisotropy on the blended polyimide (PI) of homeotropic and homogeneous alignment surface were studied. Also, we investigated the EO performances for the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using this homeotropic blended PI surface. A many decrease of tilt angle on the polymer surface to blend homeotropic PI and homogeneous PI with side chain type was measured, and the tilt angle decreased as blended ratio and rubbing strength increase. The blended effects for generating a pretilt angle were clearly observed, and the many decrease of tilt angle can be achieved by using the blended PI surface. The electro-optical (EO) characteristics using the advanced VA-$\pi$ cell using the homeotropic blended PI surface than that of conventional VA cell can be improved. We suggest that the developed advanced VA-$\pi$ cell on a homeotropic blended PI surface is a promising technique for the achievement of a fast response time, and a high contrast ratio.

폴리이미드 표면에서의 네마틱 액정의 틸트 제어를 이용한 새로운 ECB 모드 (A novel ECB mode using control of tilt angle for nematic liquid crystal on polyimide surface)

  • In this paper, we have improved a novel (ECB) mode using tilt angle in the unique condition by hot-plate equipment. The new control of tilt angle for nematic liquid crystal (NLC) with negative and positive dielectric anisotropy on the rubbed homeotropic polyimide (PI) using baking method by Hot-plate equipment was investigated. LC tilt angle decreased with increasing baking temperature and time. Especially, the low LC tilt angle of positive type NLC $({\Delta}n>0)$ on the rubbed homeotropic PI surface by increasing temperature and time was measured. The EO characteristics of the novel ECB mode using control of tilt angle on the homeotropic surface than that of conventional OCB cell can be improved. We suggest that the developed the Novel ECB cell using control of tilt angle on the homeotropic surface is a promising technique for the achievement of a fast response time and a high contrast ratio.
