와이블 분포식을 이용한 Epoxy 복합체의 절연 신뢰도 해석 (Analysis of Insulating Reliability in Epoxy Composites Using Weibull Distribution Equation)

  • The dielectric breakdown of epoxy composites used for transformers was experimented and then its data were applied to Weibull distribution probability. First of all, speaking of dielectric breakdown properties, the more hardener increased, the stronger breakdown strength became at low temperature because of cross-linked density by the virtue of ester radical. The breakdown strength of specimens with filler was lower than it of non-filler specimens because it is believed that the adding filler forms interface and charge is accumulated in it, therefore the molecular motility is raised and the electric filed is concentrated. In the case of filled specimens with treating silane, the breakdown strength become much higher. Finally, from the analysis of weibull distribution, it was confirmed that to low allowed breakdown probability under 0,.1%, the applied field value needed to be under 21.5MV/cm.

전력케이블 절연접속계면의 절연파괴 특성에 미치는 열처리 효과 (Effect oh Heat Treatment on Breakdown Properties in the Joint Interface of Power Cables)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the breakdown properties in joint interface of power cables with heat treatment. The specimens have the structure of XLPE/EPDM interface like the joint of distribution power cable. The breakdown characteristics of the SLPE/EPDM joint were studied with crosslinking by=products. AC breakdown voltages were measured with heat treatment time and interfacial materials and crosslinking by-products as testing factors. This study has shown that crosslinking by-product gases play an important role at the insulation properties of cable joints by heating. The dielectric strength shows the lowest values at 4 hours heat treatment. The AC breakdown strength in the untreated sample was increased with heat treatment time.

  • In order to investigate the electrical properties of X-ray tube oils for insulating and cooling, the breakdown characteristics in temperature range of 20∼100[$^{\circ}C$], that of AC breakdown in 0.5∼2.5(mm) of gap length, we are made researches. The classification for the physical properties of oil for X-ray tube by FTIR and $^1$H-NMR experiments was confirmed to type of mineral oils. As for the dependance of breakdown characteristics due to electrode gap length, breakdown voltage was found nearly uniform by impurity effect according to the increase of gap. As a result the characteristics for AC breakdown, the dielectric strength was increased to 90[$^{\circ}C$] but decreased over 90[$^{\circ}C$] in the temperature range.

Electrohydrodynamic Analysis of Dielectric Guide Flow Due to Surface Charge Density Effects in Breakdown Region

  • A fully coupled finite element analysis (FEA) technique was developed for analyzing the discharge phenomena and dielectric liquid flow while considering surface charge density effects in dielectric flow guidance. In addition, the simulated speed of surface charge propagation was compared and verified with the experimental results shown in the literature. Recently, electrohydrodynamics (EHD) techniques have been widely applied to enhance the cooling performance of electromagnetic systems by utilizing gaseous or liquid media. The main advantage of EHD techniques is the non-contact and low-noise nature of smart control using an electric field. In some cases, flow can be achieved using only a main electric field source. The driving sources in EHD flow are ionization in the breakdown region and ionic dissociation in the sub-breakdown region. Dielectric guidance can be used to enhance the speed of discharge propagation and fluidic flow along the direction of the electric field. To analyze this EHD phenomenon, in this study, the fully coupled FEA was composed of Poisson's equation for an electric field, charge continuity equations in the form of the Nernst-Planck equation for ions, and the Navier-Stokes equation for an incompressible fluidic flow. To develop a generalized numerical technique for various EHD phenomena that considers fluidic flow effects including dielectric flow guidance, we examined the surface charge accumulation on a dielectric surface and ionization, dissociation, and recombination effects.

  • Epoxy resin is a polar thermosetting polymer that is widely employed in different branches of industry and everyday life, due to their stable physical and chemical properties. Of all the polymer materials currently being used in the electrical insulation industry, epoxy resin is the most widely used kind, chosen as the base polymer material in the present study. Composites were prepared according to the mixing ratio (MS: MA, 1: 9, 3: 7, 5: 5, 7: 3, 9: 1)of mixture for Heterogeneous Minerals(Micro Silica:MS, Micro Alumina:MA) (MS+MA). We have investigated for AC electrical insulation breakdown characteristics and the dielectric properties (permittivity, dielectric loss, and conductivity) with frequency changes. The electrical AC insulation breakdown performance was improved with the increase of the mixing ratio of MS according to heterogeneous mineral material mixture(MS+MA). As Dielectric properties, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss increased with decreasing frequency and decreased with increasing MS content ratio of heterogeneous mineral mixture. Tensile strength and flexural strength according to the mixing ratio (MS + MA) of epoxy / heterogeneous mineral mixture were studied by mechanical properties. The performance of mechanical tensile and flexural strength was significantly improved as the fill contents ratio of MS increased.

Dielectric Properties of Polymer-ceramic Composites for Embedded Capacitors

  • Ceramic-polymer composites have been investigated for their suitability as embedded capacitor materials because they combine the processing ability of polymers with the desired dielectric properties of ceramics. This paper discusses the dielectric properties of the ceramic ($BaTiO_3$)-polymer (Epoxy) composition as a function of ceramic particle size at a ceramic loading of 40 vol%. The dielectric constant of these ceramic-polymer composites increases as the powder size decreases. Results show that ceramic-polymer composites have a high dielectric constant associated with the $BaTiO_3$ powder with a 200 nm particle size, high insulation resistance, high breakdown voltage (> 22 KV/mm), and low dielectric loss (0.018-0.024) at 1 MHz.

  • The dielectric layers in AC plasma display panel(AC PDP) are essential to the discharge cell structure, because they protect metal electrodes from sputtering by positive ion and from a sheath of wall charges which are essential to memory function of AC PDP. Furthermore, this layer should be transparent because the visible light must pass through the layer. In this paper, the dielectric breakdown strength and transparency of the dielectric layer on the discharge electrodes are studied. The variables in this test are the dielectric layer thickness, dielectric firing condition, gas pressure, species of gas and so on.

전기설비용 에폭시-$SiO_2$ 복합재료의 절연파괴 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dielectric Breakdown Strength Characteristics of Epoxy-$SiO_2$ Compound Material for Electric Installation)

  • 비스페놀 A형 에폭시 수지에 $SiO_2$를 충진한 에폭시 복합재료의 단시간 절연파괴 특성을 충진제 첨가 함량의 변화, 주위온도(상온~[$190^{\circ}C$])의 변화 및 인가 전원의 종류별로 연구, 검토하였다. 연구결과, 절연파괴강도는 충진제 함량의 증가에 대해 일반적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 입자간 중심거리 d가 충진제함량이 증가함에 따라 감소하여 평균입자간격이 [$7.5\mu\textrm{m}$]이하가 되면 절연파괴 강도가 거의 일정한 값이 됨을 확인하였다. 또한, 교류전압을 인가하는 경우는 고온영역 ([$130^{\circ}C$]) 이상에서 충진된 에폭시수지가 무충진 에폭시수지보다 절연파괴강도가 증가하였다.

  • Since the integration level of VLSI circuits progresses very quickly, a highly reliable thin $SiO_2$ film is required to fabricate a small-geometry MOS device. In the present study we have attempted to eliminate the failure-causing defects that develop in thin oxide films during the oxidation step by performing a long-time preoxidation and postoxidation annealing. The TDDB test and the copper decoration method were used to calculate the oxide defects density of MOS device. The dielectric reliability of high-quality thin oxides have been studied by using the time-zero-dielectric-breakdown (ramp-voltage-stressed I-V) and time-dependent-dielectric -breakdown (Constant-stressed I-V) tests. Failure times against temperature and electric field are examined and acceleration factors are abtained for each parameter. Based on the data obtained, breakdown wearout limitation for thin oxide films is estimated.

고분자 절연재료에서 전기트리 열화 및 절연파괴 현상 (Electrical Treeing Deterioration and Dielectric Breakdown Phenomena in Polymeric Insulator)

  • 폴리에틸렌과 에폭시 수지계 고분자 정연재료에서 발생하는 전기트리 열화 및 절연파괴 현상에 대해 연구하였다. 침-평판 전극구조를 갖는 블럭상 시편에 전기적 응력을 가하고 침 선단에서 발생하는 전기트리를 관찰하였다. 저밀도 폴리에틸렌에서 발생하는 전기트리 형상은 밀도가 매우 높은 부시상이었으며, 가교 풀려에틸렌에서는 가지형 전기트리가 관찰되었다. 에폭시 수지 에서는 첨가제 SN의 함량과 온도가 증가함에 따라 절연파괴 강도는 감소하였으며 전기트리는 더욱 복잡해졌다. 가교밀도가 높아 딱딱한 DGEBA/MDA 에폭시 수지계에서는 전도성 트리 경로 주위에 일련의 부채꼴 크랙이 관찰되었다.
