Energy and Inductance of a HTS Magnet with Various Aspect Ratios (마그넷 형상에 따른 고온초전도 마그넷의 에너지와 인덕턴스)

  • When the aspect ratio of a magnet varies, the magnetic field in the magnet also varies. The critical current of a tape-shaped HTS wire varies with the direction and magnitude of applied magnetic field. Consequently when the aspect ration of a HTS magnet varies, the critical current of a HTS magnet varies. This paper shows the relation between the aspect ratio of a magnet and the energy and inductance of a HTS magnet. The critical current is also shown at various aspect ratio of the magnet. The length of the HTS wire, inner diameter of the magnet, and number of pancake are chosen to be variables which varies the shape of the magnet. For a HTS magnet consisting of pancake windings, calculation results show the number of pancake windings are the prime factor which varied the energy and inductance of the magnet. The inner diameter of the magnet varies the energy and inductance of the magnet a little.

The Effect of Graft using Acrylic Acid on the Detergency for the Nylon 6 Fabric -Improvement of Hemoglobin Removing Rate on Grafted Nylon- (나일론 6 직물의 아크릴산 그라프트 중합과 그라프트 나일론의 세척성 -그라프트 나일론 직물의 헤모글라빈 오구 세척성 향상-)

  • Nylon fabric was grafted for the purpose of the development of detergency against the hemoglobin as a protein soil. By free-radical producing chemical initiator systems the graft using acrylic acid(AA) as a hydrophilic vinyl monomer was performed to change surface energies in the presence of ammonium persulfate(APS) as an initiator and then acrylic acid grafted Nylon was treated with NaOH solution. The surface morphology for Nylon-g-NaAA with changing graft rate were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) The properties of the Nylon such as diameter tenacity elongation contact angle and the hemoglobin removal were also investigated. The diameter of grafted Nylon fiber increased as the graft ratio increased. The tenacity of grafted Nylon also increased with increasing graft ratio up to 15% The elongation however decreased gradually according to graft, The contact angle decreased after graft and alkaline treatment. The amount of hemoglobin on the grafted Nylon increased in proportion to the graft ratio. Hemoglobin was easily removed from grafted Nylon while it was difficult to be removed from ungrafted Nylon. The detergency of hemoglobin for grafted Nylon decreased when the graft ratio exceeded 15% The removal of hemoglobin increased markedly with increasing hemoglobin content and revolution speed. Therefore the removal of hemoglobin was improved due to graft and alkaline treatment.

  • Because general laboratory tests for sand compaction pile method including unit-cell test device have fixed outside diameter, as area replacement ratio increase, diameter of sand pile increase. These condition can bring about overestimation of stiffness of composite ground. In addition, existing large soil box which consist of bellows type loading plate can occur serious mistake in checking the amount of drained water because there are additional drainage along the inside wall in device. Overcoming these shortcoming, this paper developed modified large scale soil box consist of piston type load plate. In this study, using this device, series of modified large scale soil box tests were performed, and investigated the settlement and stress transportation characteristics with area replacement ratio in sand compaction pile method.

  • RAP(rammed aggregate pier) method which is intermediate foundation of deep and shallow foundation is used to improve the ground with high compaction energy. This method is widely spread around the world, but there are few examples and systemic researches for failure mechanism and bearing capacity of this method are not organized yet. In this paper, soil laboratory tests were carried out to evaluate the applicability of RAP method as the foundation of a structure. And the bearing capacity and the failure mechanism of RAP method were studied with respect to various relative densities(35%, 65%, 90%), diameters(45mm, 60mm) and lengths(20cm, 30cm, 40cm). As results, stress concentration ratio decreased as diameter of RAP was increasing or length of RAP was decreased or relative density was decreased. however these results were not always constant. because systematic interaction between relative density and diameter and length of RAP can affect stress concentration ratio, more studies on stress concentration ratio are needed throughout laboratory and field tests.

  • The effects of the ratio of warp diameter to filling diameter (${\beta}$-ratio) and warp thread crash on the crimp factor and the yarn curvature were studied theoretically in this paper. The models of 2/2 twill fabric derived square cloth and sinusoidal curved cloth were used for the theoretical analysis. The crimp factors (C) for the models were given theoretically as follows; (1) Derived square cloth(general equation for b) $$C=\frac{(1+{\beta})({\theta}-sin{\theta})}{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}+{\alpha}}$$ (2) Sihusoidal curved cloth $$C=\frac{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}\[1+\{\frac{{\pi}(1-cos{\theta})}{4sin{\theta}}\}^2\]+{\alpha}}{(1+{\beta})sin{\theta}+{\alpha}}-1$$ The curvatures(${\kappa}$) for the models were given theoretically as follows; (1) Derived square cloth $${\kappa}=\frac{2}{d_w+d_f}$$ (2) Sinusoidal curved cloth $${\kappa}=\|{^{\;\;\prime\prime} \atop r}(s)\| \\ where \;s=\frac{p^'}{{\pi}}\(u+\frac{k^2u}{4}+\frac{k^2}{8}sin2u\)$$.

  • An experimental study on condensation heat transfer characteristics of helically coiled spiral tubes was performed. The refrigerant is R-113. A refrigerant loop was established to measure the condensation heat transfer coefficients. Experiments were carried out uniform heat flux of 15 kw/m$^2$, refrigerant quality of 0.1∼0.9, curvature ratio of 0.016, 0.025 and 0.045. The curvature of a coil was defined as the ratio of the inside diameter of the tube to the diameter of the bending circle. To compare the condensation heat transfer coefficients of coiled spiral tubes, the previous results on coiled plain tubes and straight plain tubes were used. The results shows that the condensation heat transfer coefficients of coiled spiral tubes largely increase, as increasing Re and quality, compared to those of coiled plain tubes and straight plain tubes. As increasing degree of subcooling, however, the condensation heat transfer coefficients on coiled spiral tubes decrease. It is found that the heat transfer enhancement is more better than coiled plain tubes and straight plain tubes, as increasing curvature ratio.

  • Oil-film flow visualizations and three-dimensional flow measurements using a five-hole probe have been conducted to investigate three-dimensional flow characteristics and total pressure losses of a row of film-cooling jets injected in spanwise direction. For several span-to-diameter ratios, experiments are performed in the case of three velocity ratios of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5. The flow measurements show that downstream flow due to the injection is characterized by a single streamwise vortex instead of a pair of counter-rotating vortices, which appear in the case of streamwise injection, and the vortex strength strongly depends on the velocity ratio. Regardless of the velocity*y ratio, presence of the spanwise film-cooling jets always produces total pressure loss, which is pronounced when the velocity ratio is large. It has also been found that the production of the total pressure loss is closely related to the secondary vortical flow. In addition, effects of the span-to-diameter ratio on the flow and total pressure loss are discussed in detail.

Control effects of the flow and the aerodynamic force around the downstream cylinder by a spinning upstream cylinder in uniform flow (균일류의 회전원주 제어에 의한 유동 및 공력 제어효과에 관한 연구)

  • The aerodynamic forces and wake structure of the non-rotating downstream circular cylinder, of which the uniform freestream flow is interfered with another spinning upstream cylinder having the same diameter that is located upstream in a line have been investigated experimentally. When the spin rate of the downstream cylinder defined as the ratio of tangential surface velocity of the spinning cylinder to the freestream velocity increases gradually from zero to 1.4, the change of surface pressure distribution, aerodynamic forces of the non-rotating downstream cylinder were measured in case of several distance ratios of 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 defined as the ratio of distance between the centers of two cylinders to the diameter. The wake flow patterns behind the cylinder were also investigated in each case. From the present experiments, it has been found that the spin rate significantly influences the aerodynamic forces and near-wake flow phenomena of the downstream cylinder in such a way that the drag increases as the spin rate and distance ratio increase and the wake width increases as the distance ratio increases.

  • The aim this study is to provide fundamental informations for the development of magneticfluid damper. To achieve the aim. the damping effect of magneticfluid is investigated by experiments that the diameter of inner circular bar and the input amplitude vary in the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet and the electromagnet. From the study, the following conclusive remarks can be made. As the diameter of inner circular bar and the input amplitude increase. the damping effect is improved. And we can know that as the contact area between inner circular bar and magneticfluid increases, damping ratio is improved. Also we consider the cases that there is magnetism generated by electromagnet and DC voltage is supplied to electromagnet from 10V to 50V by 10V. In these cases, the amplitude ratio decreases sharply from 1.8 1.0 And for these cases, the damping ratio is .745.

  • This study is to develop the diesel engine which has 6 cylinder natural aspiration direct injection type of 7.4$\ell$ with high performance, low emissions and low fuel consumption Finally the developed engine meets Korean `98 exhaust emission regulation for the city bus of heavy duty diesel engine by optimizing the various combustion parameters affecting performance and exhaust emissions. Combustion parameters are the swirl ratio of intake ports, the profile of injection pump`s cam affecting injection pressure, the design features of piston bowl of injection pump`s cam affecting injection pressure, the design features of piston bowl of combustion chamber and injector`s hole size. Through experimental analysis, various combustion parameters are optimized and the results are as follows; the swirl ratio is 2.20, the profile of injection pump`s cam is concave and re-entrant ratio, inner diameter of piston bowl and hole diameter of injector is 0.88,$\psi$64.0mm and $\psi$0.25mm respectively.
