The clinical decision support system uses accumulated medical data to apply an AI model learned by machine learning to patient diagnosis and treatment prediction. However, the existing black box-based AI application does not provide a valid reason for the result predicted by the system, so there is a limitation in that it lacks explanation. To compensate for these problems, this paper proposes a system model that applies XAI that can be explained in the development stage of the clinical decision support system. The proposed model can supplement the limitations of the black box by additionally applying a specific XAI technology that can be explained to the existing AI model. To show the application of the proposed model, we present an example of XAI application using LIME and SHAP. Through testing, it is possible to explain how data affects the prediction results of the model from various perspectives. The proposed model has the advantage of increasing the user's trust by presenting a specific reason to the user. In addition, it is expected that the active use of XAI will overcome the limitations of the existing clinical decision support system and enable better diagnosis and decision support.
The Schoolwide Enrichment Model(SEM) is a representative model for the gifted education. As the model seems to be more conceptual in nature, it is hard to respond to the different interests and changing needs of the gifted learners. Also it does not provide specific procedures and prescriptions in teaching-learning processes for the teachers. Therefore, SEM needs to be modified into a Systemic Model that is more flexible and procedural. The paper proposes an Instructional Systems Design(ISD) model for SEM. The Systemic Model for SEM consists of 5 major steps. These are as follows: Planning, Diagnosis, Prescription, Implementation, Evaluation. In Planning step, there is a six-stage procedure for initiating the implementation of the SEM. In Diagnosis step, there are two-phases in identifying students for participation in the SEM and assessing strengths, interests, and talents of the learners and recording in The Total Talent Portfolio(TTP). In Prescription step, Curriculum Compacting is administered as a systematic procedure for modifying thecurriculum for above-average ability students. In Implementation step, Enrichment Learning and Teaching is an instructional strategy designed to promote active engagement in learning for teachers and students. Whenever each step has completed, Evaluation step should be followed. These 5 steps are repetitive, cycling and interactive. That is, each one becomes input for the next step, process for itself, and output for the previous step. Each step is monitored through the process of Review and Revision step. In conclusion, the paper suggests six strengths of the Systemic Model for SEM; The Model (1) provides the specific procedure in teaching-learning process; 92) has interactive relations with each component; (3) can be revised continuously for creation of the most effective system; (4) can be implemented more flexibly; (5) can be developed as an unique system for each school; (6) facilitates communications between teachers and students.

Purpose: This study proposed a generative adversarial network (GAN) model for T2-weighted image (WI) synthesis from proton density (PD)-WI in a temporomandibular joint(TMJ) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol. Materials and Methods: From January to November 2019, MRI scans for TMJ were reviewed and 308 imaging sets were collected. For training, 277 pairs of PD- and T2-WI sagittal TMJ images were used. Transfer learning of the pix2pix GAN model was utilized to generate T2-WI from PD-WI. Model performance was evaluated with the structural similarity index map (SSIM) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) indices for 31 predicted T2-WI (pT2). The disc position was clinically diagnosed as anterior disc displacement with or without reduction, and joint effusion as present or absent. The true T2-WI-based diagnosis was regarded as the gold standard, to which pT2-based diagnoses were compared using Cohen's ĸ coefficient. Results: The mean SSIM and PSNR values were 0.4781(±0.0522) and 21.30(±1.51) dB, respectively. The pT2 protocol showed almost perfect agreement(ĸ=0.81) with the gold standard for disc position. The number of discordant cases was higher for normal disc position (17%) than for anterior displacement with reduction (2%) or without reduction (10%). The effusion diagnosis also showed almost perfect agreement(ĸ=0.88), with higher concordance for the presence (85%) than for the absence (77%) of effusion. Conclusion: The application of pT2 images for a TMJ MRI protocol useful for diagnosis, although the image quality of pT2 was not fully satisfactory. Further research is expected to enhance pT2 quality.

Objectives: Facial diagnosis is an important part of clinical diagnosis in traditional East Asian Medicine. In this paper, we proposed a model to quantitatively classify cold sensitivity using a fully automated facial image analysis system. Methods: We investigated cold sensitivity in 452 subjects. Cold sensitivity was determined using a questionnaire and the Cold Pattern Score (CPS) was used for analysis. Subjects with a CPS score below the first quartile (low CPS group) belonged to the cold non-sensitivity group, and subjects with a CPS score above the third quartile (high CPS group) belonged to the cold sensitivity group. After splitting the facial images into train/validation/test sets, the train and validation set were input into a convolutional neural network to learn the model, and then the classification accuracy was calculated for the test set. Results: The classification accuracy of the low CPS group and high CPS group using facial images in all subjects was 76.17%. The classification accuracy by sex was 69.91% for female and 62.86% for male. It is presumed that the deep learning model used facial color or facial shape to classify the low CPS group and the high CPS group, but it is difficult to specifically determine which feature was more important. Conclusions: The experimental results of this study showed that the low CPS group and the high CPS group can be classified with a modest level of accuracy using only facial images. There was a need to develop more advanced models to increase classification accuracy.

The purpose of this study is to present a digital transformation-based learning model that can be used in universities based on learning digital transformation in order f to be competitive in a rapidly changing environment. Literature review, case study, and focus group interview were conducted and the implications for the learning model from these are as follows. Universities that stand out in related fields are actively using learning analysis to implement dashboards, develop predictive models, and support adaptive learning based on big data, They also have actively introduced advanced edutech to classes. In addition, problems and difficulties faced by other universities and K University when implementing digital transformation were also confirmed. Based on these findings, a digital transformation-based learning model of K University was developed. This model consists of four dimensions: diagnosis, recommendation, learning, and success. It allows students to proceed with learning by diagnosing and recommending various learning processes necessary for individual success, and systematically managing learning outcomes. Finally, academic and practical implications about the research results were discussed.
Recently, machine learning algorithms based on artificial neural networks started to be used widely as classifiers in the field of EEG research for emotion analysis and disease diagnosis. When a machine learning model is used to classify EEG data, if training data is composed of only data having similar characteristics, classification performance may be deteriorated when applied to data of another group. In this paper, we propose a method to construct training data set by selecting several groups of data using semi-supervised learning algorithm to improve these problems. We then compared the performance of the two models by training the model with a training data set consisting of data with similar characteristics to the training data set constructed using the proposed method.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal gives a clear indication whether the heart is at a healthy status or not as the early notification of a cardiac problem in the heart could save the patient's life. Several methods were launched to clarify how to diagnose the abnormality over the ECG signal waves. However, some of them face the problem of lack of accuracy at diagnosis phase of their work. In this research, we present an accurate and successive method for the diagnosis of abnormality through Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), QRS complex detection and Support Vector Machines (SVM) classification with overall accuracy rate 95.26%. DWT Refers to sampling any kind of discrete wavelet transform, while SVM is known as a model with related learning algorithm, which is based on supervised learning that perform regression analysis and classification over the data sample. We have tested the ECG signals for 10 patients from different file formats collected from PhysioNet database to observe accuracy level for each patient who needs ECG data to be processed. The results will be presented, in terms of accuracy that ranged from 92.1% to 97.6% and diagnosis status that is classified as either normal or abnormal factors.
Early diagnosis, accurate assessment, and localization of peritoneal metastasis (PM) are essential for the selection of appropriate treatments and surgical guidance. However, available imaging modalities (computed tomography [CT], conventional magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], and 18fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography [PET]/CT) have limitations. The advent of new imaging techniques and novel molecular imaging agents have revealed molecular processes in the tumor microenvironment as an application for the early diagnosis and assessment of PM as well as real-time guided surgical resection, which has changed clinical management. In contrast to clinical imaging, which is purely qualitative and subjective for interpreting macroscopic structures, radiomics and artificial intelligence (AI) capitalize on high-dimensional numerical data from images that may reflect tumor pathophysiology. A predictive model can be used to predict the occurrence, recurrence, and prognosis of PM, thereby avoiding unnecessary exploratory surgeries. This review summarizes the role and status of different imaging techniques, especially new imaging strategies such as spectral photon-counting CT, fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT, near-infrared fluorescence imaging, and PET/MRI, for early diagnosis, assessment of surgical indications, and recurrence monitoring in patients with PM. The clinical applications, limitations, and solutions for fluorescence imaging, radiomics, and AI are also discussed.

Heart disease is becoming the top reason of death all around the world. Diagnosing cardiac illness is a difficult endeavor that necessitates both expertise and extensive knowledge. Machine learning (ML) is becoming gradually more important in the medical field. Most of the works have concentrated on the prediction of cardiac disease, however the precision of the results is minimal, and data integrity is uncertain. To solve these difficulties, this research creates an Integrated Accurate-Secure Heart Disease Prediction (IAS) Model based on Deep Convolutional Neural Networks. Heart-related medical data is collected and pre-processed. Secondly, feature extraction is processed with two factors, from signals and acquired data, which are further trained for classification. The Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) is used to categorize received sensor data as normal or abnormal. Furthermore, the results are safeguarded by implementing an integrity validation mechanism based on the hash algorithm. The system's performance is evaluated by comparing the proposed to existing models. The results explain that the proposed model-based cardiac disease diagnosis model surpasses previous techniques. The proposed method demonstrates that it attains accuracy of 98.5 % for the maximum amount of records, which is higher than available classifiers.
Early-stage diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) from Cognitively Normal (CN) patients is crucial because treatment at an early stage of AD can prevent further progress in the AD's severity in the future. Recently, computer-aided diagnosis using magnetic resonance image (MRI) has shown better performance in the classification of AD. However, these methods use a traditional machine learning algorithm that requires supervision and uses a combination of many complicated processes. In recent research, the performance of deep neural networks has outperformed the traditional machine learning algorithms. The ability to learn from the data and extract features on its own makes the neural networks less prone to errors. In this paper, a dense neural network is designed for binary classification of Alzheimer's disease. To create a classifier with better results, we studied result of different activation functions in the prediction. We obtained results from 5-folds validations with combinations of different activation functions and compared with each other, and the one with the best validation score is used to classify the test data. In this experiment, features used to train the model are obtained from the ADNI database after processing them using FreeSurfer software. For 5-folds validation, two groups: AD and CN are classified. The proposed DNN obtained better accuracy than the traditional machine learning algorithms and the compared previous studies for AD vs. CN, AD vs. Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and MCI vs. CN classifications, respectively. This neural network is robust and better.
