유한요소 모델 검증 및 개선 (Correlation and Update of Finite Element Model)

  • The finite element analysis (FEA) is widely used in modern structural dynamics because the performance of structure can be predicted in early stage. However, due to the difficulty in determination of various uncertain parameters, it is not easy to obtain a reliable finite element model. To overcome these difficulties, a updating program of FE model is developed by consisting of pretest, correlation and update. In correlation, it calculates modal assurance criteria, cross orthogonality, mixed orthogonality and coordinate modal assurance criteria. For the model updating, the continuum sensitivity analysis and design optimization tool(DOT) are used. The SENSUP program is developed for model updating giving physical parameter sensitivity. The developed program is applied to practical examples such as the BLDC spindle motor of HDD, and upper housing of induction motor. And the sensor placement for the square plate is compared using several methods.

  • In this paper, two plant models, of which one is newly developed and the other one is the conventional one, of the focus servo system of DVD drive are presented and a two-degree-of freedom controller consisted of Inverse dynamics feedforward and LQG/LTR feedback controller is designed. The newly developed plant model is used to design the feedforward controller and the conventional model is used for the design of feedback controller. The output of newly developed model is the displacement of objective lens and the output of conventional model is the focus error of the DVD focus servo system. The displacement of the objective lens is estimated by the dynamics model of the DVD focus servo system. The disturbance rejection performance of the two-degree-of freedom controller is compared with that of an LQG/LTR one.

  • In this paper, we have developed a technology-service relationship model which describes the diffusion process of a group of services and relevant technologies, and have applied the developed model to the prediction of the number of subscribers to the next generation mobile service. The technology-service relationship model developed in this paper incorporates the developing process of relevant technologies, a supply-side factor, into the diffusion process of specific services, while many diffusion models and multi-generation diffusion models in previous researches are mainly reflect the demand-side factors. So, the proposed model could effectively applied to the telecommunication services where the developing of the relevant technologies are very essential to the service penetration. In our application, the proposed model provides a competitive substitution between the next generation mobile service and the traditional mobile service.

구매종속성이 재고관리에 미치는 영향 (Application of Purchase Dependence in Inventory Management)

  • The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the importance of identifying and considering 'purchase dependence' when purchase of an item is dependent on availability of other items demanded in the same order. This paper is the first study to develop an inventory model for purchase-dependent inventory systems. Through simulation experiments, we demonstrate that the developed inventory model incurs less inventory operations cost than other inventory models that ignore purchase dependence. For empirical validation of the developed inventory model, the actual inventory data at the Hyundai Engine Europe Service Center is used. We explain the process of identifying purchase dependencies among items through a data mining technique. The empirical study results in similar results to the simulation experiment, demonstrating that the developed inventory model is applicable to real situations.

  • In this paper an artificial neural network model is developed to estimate the unconfined compression strength of Deep Cement Mixing(DCM) treated soil. A database which consists of a number of unconfined compression test result compiled from 9 clay sites is used to train and test of the artificial neural network model. Developed neural network model requires water content of soil, unit weight of soil, passing percent of #200 sieve, weight of cement, w-c ratio as input variables. It is found that the developed artificial neural network model can predict more precise and reliable unconfined compression strength than the conventional empirical models.

  • Escalators are widely used for mass transportation in public places. In recent years, strict requirements on the comfort and reliability for the public transportation have drawn a great attention to vibration in escalators. This paper presents a dynamic model for escalators to be used for the analysis and design of low vibration escalators. The dynamic model is developed so as to reflect the physical observation on peculiar characteristics in escalators such as the difference between up-moving and down-moving, and the abnormal vibration affected by the load applied. For validation of the dynamic model developed, experimental results are compared with numerical results from the model. The numerical study shows that the developed model may be useful for the analysis and design of escalator systems.

Development and application of inverse model for reservoir heterogeneity characterization using parallel genetic algorithm

  • This paper presents the development of reservoir characterization model equipped with parallelized genetic algorithm, and its application for a heterogeneous reservoir system with integration of the well data and multi-phase production data. A parallel processing method performed by PC-cluster was applied to the developed model in order to reduce time for an inverse calculation. By utilizing the developed model, we performed the inverse calculation with the production data obtained from three layered reservoir system to estimate porosity and permeability distribution. As a result, the pressures observed at well almost identical to those calculated by the developed model. Also, it was confirmed that parallel processing could be applied for reservoir characterization study efficiently.

  • This paper presents a dynamic model for escalators to be used for the analysis and design of low vibration escalators. The dynamic model is developed so as to reflect the physical observation on peculiar characteristics such as the difference between up moving and down moving, and the resonance affected by the load applied. For validation of the dynamic model developed, experimental results are compared with numerical results from the model. The numerical study shows that the developed model is useful for analysis and design of escalator systems.

CTIS를 장착한 대형차량의 동역학 해석 모델 (Full Vehicle Model for Dynamic Analysis of a Large Vehicle with CTIS)

  • Appropriate vibration model is required to predict in advance the vibration level of a large vehicle which carries sensitive electronic/mechanical equipments and drives often on the unpaved and/or off-road conditions. Central tire inflation system(CTIS) is recently adopted to improve the mobile operation of military and bulletproof vehicles. In this paper, full vehicle model(FVM) having 11 degrees of freedom and equipped with CTIS has been developed for a large vehicle which has $8\times8$ wheels$\times$driving wheels. Usability of the developed model is validated via road tests for three different modes (i.e. highway, country, and mud/sand/snow modes) and for various velocity conditions. The developed FVM can be used to predict the vibration level of the large vehicle as well as to determine the driving velocity criterion for different road conditions.
