갑판지지 웨브 구조에서의 개구부 상세설계기준 정립 (Detail-design Guidance for the Openings on the Web Structure Supporting the Deck)

  • There are a lot of openings, holes and slots in ship structural members. It is not easy to solve the troubles around the openings adequately at the detail design stage, because there are a lot of concerning locations. There are not also clear design rules of classification societies and it is not possible to apply direct calculation for all the concerning members. Therefore, it is necessary to set up simplified approach such as a standard or guidance in order to decide the opening design quickly. For this study, guidance and regulations of each classification and several companies were surveyed. Grillage analysis and the refined mesh method were used to evaluate the strength around hole considering boundary condition and more detailed member arrangement. As a result, the standard for opening design was established and verified.

우리나라의 사업장 위험성평가 제도 실시에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of Risk Assessment System at Workplace in Korea)

  • Risk assessment system which is the point of occupational safety and health management system is recognized to be effective to prevent industrial accident and occupational disease internationally. Ministry of Employment and Labor developed guidance on risk assessment at workplace recently. This guidance presents standard model on risk assessment at workplace. However, enterprises may be confronted with many questions in the process of introducing and operating risk assessment. For risk assessment to be implemented properly and effectively at workplace, there are various questions that need to be considered in advance, including giving shape to standard on risk evaluation and clarifying the implementation system at workplace in advance. Also for risk assessment to be revitalized at workplace, several policy matters need to be settled. First, an administrative agency should present the implementation method of risk assessment more concretely. Secondly, it is necessary for an administrative agency to develop and spread various detailed manual, models and good practices related to risk assessment. Thirdly, a government agency need to apply an incentive & disadvantage policy actively to risk assessment.

기둥 축력과 조적허리벽을 고려한 1980년대 학교교사 구조요소의 파괴모드 평가 (Failure Mode of Structural Components Considering Column Axial Forces and Partial Masonry Infills for School Buildings Constructed in the 1980s)

  • As earthquakes have increased in Korea recently, people are paying attention to the seismic performance of buildings built in the past. Many school buildings in Korea were built based on standard drawings before the seismic design was applied. However, since school buildings are often designated as emergency evacuation facilities in case of disasters such as earthquakes, seismic evaluation and retrofit must be done quickly. This study investigated the failure modes among structural components (beams, columns, and joints), focusing on 1980s standard drawings for school buildings. The effects of column axial force, partial masonry infills, and different material strengths for concrete and rebar were considered for detailed evaluation. As a result, most of the joints were found to be the weakest among structural components. Column axial forces tended to make the joints more vulnerable, and partial masonry infills increased the possibility of joint failure and shear failure in columns.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve regulations such as law and standard contract forms related to defects liability in Korea. Defects liability has been one of the major causes of construction contract disputes in Korea in recent years. It is important to avoid or resolve disputes regarding defects liability through regulations containing clear criteria and to specify the standard regarding the mitigation and remission of the contractor's defects liability. This study was carried out through document research and analysis of judicial precedents. The following are the courses of improvement regarding the mitigation and remission of defects liability in Korea. First, laws and standard contract forms must contain more detailed clauses regarding exemption of a contractor's defects liability, which clearly set out the scope of the defects liability of the contractor. Second, the current system for defects liability favors the owner rather than the contractor - it is necessary to change the defects liability system in order to give the owner and the contractor an equal standing. Third, strict liability is taken on by the contractor even when the term of guarantee for defects lasts longer than the legally set period of liability for defects. Hence, it is necessary to improve the system by alleviating the liability of the contractor through applying negligence liability as opposed to strict liability during the term of guarantee.

  • Recently, the application of BIM has been continuously expanded according to various government policies, and the application performance is being analyzed in BIM projects such as roads and railways. In line with this trend, the government is making additional efforts to introduce full-scale design BIM. The BIM design in the public sector is directly related to the estimated price. However, looking at the current status of BIM introduction, there is no support system in place for calculating the estimated price. Therefore, this study intends to analyze the priority activity that is easy to develop BIM unit price among the construction standard unit Price of construction work. In this study, in order to derive the BIM-based priority activity, BIM application statements and application guidelines were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, cast-in-place concrete construction (civil engineering) and reinforced concrete construction (architecture) were deduced as suitable construction activities for the preferential application of BIM. Since the results presented in this study are a rough analysis, it is judged that additional detailed analysis is necessary for the future.

Experimentally validated FEA models of HF2V damage free steel connections for use in full structural analyses

  • The aim of this research is to model the behaviour of recently developed high force to volume (HF2V) passive energy dissipation devices using a simple finite element (FE) model. Thus, the end result will be suitable for use in a standard FE code to enable computationally fast and efficient analysis and design. Two models are developed. First, a detailed axial model that models an experimental setup is created to validate the approach versus experimental results. Second, a computationally and geometrically simpler equivalent rotational hinge element model is presented. Both models are created in ABAQUS, a standard nonlinear FE code. The elastic, plastic and damping properties of the elements used to model the HF2V devices are based on results from a series of quasi-static force-displacement loops and velocity based tests of these HF2V devices. Comparison of the FE model results with the experimental results from a half scale steel beam-column sub-assembly are within 10% error. The rotational model matches the output of the more complex and computationally expensive axial element model. The simpler model will allow computationally efficient non-linear analysis of large structures with many degrees of freedom, while the more complex and physically accurate axial model will allow detailed analysis of joint connection architecture. Their high correlation to experimental results helps better guarantee the fidelity of the results of such investigations.

어선표식제도의 적정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Marking System on Fishing Vessel)

  • In order to establish order in fishing industry by cracking down on illegal fishing vessels effectively, it is an essential requirement to identify marking such as the name of fishing vessel and a port of register more easily. Accordingly, it is quite natural that markings on fishing vessels should be marked clearly in an appropriate size on an appropriate site in order for them to be distinguished on the air such as from planes as well as on the sea. Actually, when examining marks such as the name of a vessel which are operating in the country, marks of most fishing vessels are too small as they cannot be distinguished with the naked eye even very closely. There is no coastal fishing vessel which marks the name of fishing vessel on the upper part in order to distinguish it from planes. Fishing vessel law generally which regulates the basic laws about shipbuilding regulates marks on fishing vessel, and fisheries law only regulates sign boards of fishing vessels. Problems and improvement of the marking system on fishing vessels suggested by this paper are as follows. First, in order to contribute to establish order in fishing industry, it would be desirable to tighten standards in fisheries law besides the fishing vessel law. Second, it is difficult to distinguish marks such as the name of a vessel as relevant laws allow fishers to make such marks too small. It is necessary to set the standard for marks larger than those regulated by the international treaty. Third, the relevant laws do not regulate a letter form of marks. Therefore, it becomes a factor to make small marks hard to be distinguished more. It is necessary to decide a clear letter form. Fourth, there is insufficient detailed international standards about the marking system. It is necessary to regulate a detailed standard.

도시철도차량의 안전기준 강화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Safety Regulation Revision for Urban Transit Vehicles)

  • Dae-gu subway accident raise whole points in connection with safety facilities and operating of national urban transit system like rolling stocks, facilities, management of human. Rolling stock is made every effort for improvement of performance, guarantee of comfortableness, insurance of economical efficiency. But Security like safety of fire is not thoroughgoing enough. Especially, interior material has used although it is not prove its degree of safety. it is a main cause of Dae-gu subway accident. Safety regulation of urban transit vehicle that legislate for security in March 2000 does not applied manufacturing vehicles before in 2000. It has be prescribed in the regulations that incombustibles must be used. But detailed test standard related with incombustibles is not prescribe. Thus that regulation be required reinforcement of detailed test standard. Main cause of Dae-Gu subway accident is a fire in vehicle. However, many defects are found in infrastructure and operating vehicle of urban transit, such as inexperienced disposal of driver and CCC in early stage of the fire accident, unskilled opening and closing doors, insufficient escape facilities and safety facilities of a station house and tunnel, and incomplete communication system between vehicle and CTC, extraordinary step. Thus the aims of this study are prevention of urban transit accident, improvement plan of safety driving, and proposal of quick action plan through analysis of total faculty of vehicle.

IDM을 이용한 강구조의 구조설계 단계별 정보전달 요구 분석 (Information Delivery Requirements of Steel Structure according the Structural Design Stages using IDM)

  • 건설 프로젝트에서 각 전문분야의 작업은 해당 분야의 전문 소프트웨어에 의해 진행되므로 이를 통해 생성된 디지털 정보의 교환 및 공유가 업무 효율 향상을 위해 중요한 요소로 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 강구조건물 골조의 구조설계에서 발생하는 정보전달 요구를 IDM 방법론을 이용해 분석하였다. 강구조 골조 구조설계 과정의 단위업무를 설계단계별로 분석하고, 단위업무 사이에서 요구되는 정보를 도출하여 PM, ER 및 FP를 추출하였다. 이를 통해 강구조 골조 구조설계의 상세설계단계에서 구조적으로 중요한 비중을 차지하는 강구조 볼트접합 및 용접접합의 구조정보를 분석하고 이를 Pset으로 추가하여 새로운 ER과 FP로 제안하였다. 제안한 볼트접합 및 용접접합 ER과 FP를 강구조 표준접합상세의 기둥-보 강축접합 사례에 적용한 결과, 철골접합부 구조설계정보의 저장 및 IFC 파일을 통한 공유 및 교환에 유용하게 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Research and Development of Korea B(Benefit)-impact Model for Sustainable Development - in Case of Construction Sector -

  • The purpose of this study is to research and development of 'Korea B(Benefit)-impact Model' for Sustainable Development. A concept evaluation model is 'B(Benefit)-impact model' in U.S.A. We use the results of surveys that examined the importance of social value issues to stakeholders in Korea to implement the benefit-impact model in Korea. In particular, in this paper, we use the KSI(Korean Sustainability Index) survey data conducted by the Korea Standards Association to evaluate the social value of the construction industry for representative stakeholders in the construction industry. The social value pool and the activity indicator pool used for the survey are created based on relevant International Standards; ISO 26000, ISO 14001, ISO 37001. As a result, Korea B-impact model for construction industry included the following five core social value issues; Strengthen transparency of corporate management, Ensure fair employment and employment relations, Efforts to prevent corruption, Conduct fair competition, Efforts to prevent environmental pollution. In addition, the US B-impact model has three limitations. First, it is unclear whether the key indicators have been derived while considering all issues of social value. Second, US B-impact model indicators are developed by the social responsibility experts, so it is necessary to review by stakeholders in each industry. Finally, it would be more effective for companies to use the B-impact model index as a more detailed activity indicator. When developing a Korea B-impact model, the following methods are used to supplement it. First, we reviewed all social value issues using international standards. Secondly, we used the KSI(Korean Sustainability index) survey results to derive the importance of the social value issue of construction industry in Korea. Finally, we have clearly matched the activity indicators by social value core issues based on the GRI Standard so that companies can actually use the Korea B-impact model for the construction sector.
