There is a need to convert the old low- or medium-resolution satellite image-based thematic mapping to the high-resolution satellite image-based mapping of GSD 1m grade or lower. There is also a need to generate middle- or large-scale thematic maps of 1:5,000 or lower. In this study, the DEM and orthoimage is generated with the KOMPSAT-2 stereo image of Yuseong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City. By utilizing the orthoimage, automatic extraction experiments of land cover information are generated for buildings, roads and urban areas, raw land(agricultural land), mountains and forests, hydrosphere, grassland, and shadow. The experiment results show that it is possible to classify, in detail, for natural features such as the hydrosphere, mountains and forests, grassland, shadow, and raw land. While artificial features such as roads, buildings, and urban areas can be easily classified with automatic extraction, there are difficulties on detailed classifications along the boundaries. Further research should be performed on the automation methods using the conventional thematic maps and all sorts of geo-spatial information and mapping techniques in order to classify thematic information in detail.

In this study, one of the main aims is to build up a technical foundation for promoting the cadastral resurvey effectively and to improve the accuracy of cadastral surveying is to make use of precise surveying techniques in allowance of position errors as reference accuracy in cadastral resurvey, which is proper to obtain the sufficient accuracy of the cadastral control points, and parcel boundary points by introducing the GNSS-based surveying techniques on cadastral survey. In detail, the existing procedures and outcomes of cadastral survey were compared and analyzed for suggesting a better survey technique than that of the other techniques in a variety of aspects of capability of cadastral survey. The new skills and supports could be upmost importance when doing cadastral survey. What's more, essentially, 'The Measurement Department' makes all the efforts to establish 'The Surveying Regulations'. This could possibly apply GNSS-based surveying technique to the cadastral resurvey for the foreseeable future and this research paper suggested that how to improve absolute accuracy of cadastral reference points by means of putting to use the appropriate models of measurement further.

With the increasing demands of 3D spatial information in urban environment, the importance of point clouds generation techniques have been increased. In particular, for as-built BIM, the point clouds with the high accuracy and density is required to describe the detail information of building components. Since the terrestrial LiDAR has high performance in terms of accuracy and point density, it has been widely used for as-built 3D modelling. However, the high cost of devices is obstacle for general uses, and the image-based 3D reconstruction technique is being a new attraction as an alternative solution. This paper compares the image-based 3D reconstruction technique and the terrestrial LiDAR in point of establishing the as-built BIM of outdoor structures. The point clouds generated from the image-based 3D reconstruction technique could roughly present the 3D shape of a building, but could not precisely express detail information, such as windows, doors and a roof of building. There were 13.2~28.9 cm of RMSE between the terrestrial LiDAR scanning data and the point clouds, which generated from smartphone and DSLR camera images. In conclusion, the results demonstrate that the image-based 3D reconstruction can be used in drawing building footprint and wireframe, and the terrestrial LiDAR is suitable for detail 3D outdoor modeling.

Most of domestic multipurpose dams were basin area to be large, therefore, soil loss were occurred by downpour in the rainy season, They have caused to accumulate sediments on the river and dam reservoir that brought the decrease of storage volume and difficulties of the quality management of water. Until now, the measurement cycle of sediments surveying was long and it was designed to use surveying the degree of sediments, Thus there were many difficult things to secure accuracy. In this study, it was intended to analyze the origin position tracing of sediments and the movement route, for this purpose, aerial LiDAR technology was applied to precise sediments surveying. The amount and location of soil loss were evaluated by classified properties of soil, land-cover, and topographical conditions in detail. Therefore, the reliance could be maintained in analyzing the route of soil loss by extracting the flow within a watercourse and using the advanced accurate DEM.
Recently, "Cadastral Confirmation Surveying" has been established to promote efficiently and systematically its work. To do so, it is necessary that cadastral control point should be set up and transverse grid coordinates should be determined for high accuracy and boundary restoration based on the cadastral control point. This study expects the potentially institutional problem of detail surveying and the limitation of Network-Real Time Kinematic, introduced to measure the cadastral control point first in the issued regulation, and thus presents the improvement and the management of the block boundary of larger parcel as solutions. This can be applied promptly, when the location difference of ground and border, registered in cadastral record for quake and others, occurs. Thus, the public confidence of cadastral record may become higher and relevant social costs get reduced by the advanced prevention effect of boundary dispute, which represents much to the management of cadastral institution. Provided cadastral confirmation surveying is implemented with the management of the block boundary of larger parcel, proposed in this study.

Recently, As a part of NGIS project, cultural-assets digital map is produced by cultural properties administration and local autonomous entities. Cultural-assets unified GIS(Geographical Information System) is essential to cultural properties managers and other organizations which is executing land related business for appling it at planning stage. With explosive national land developments, it has been obligated to implement surface survey by the cultural properties protection Art(clause 2, Atr 74). In this paper, the author used the district of Sachon city and made 3D terrain model using digital map which is made of It5000 scale. moreover, the author improved to RDBMS(Relational Database Management System) structure and remodeled the existing DB design in detail. The author suggest to realize shape and kind of remains which have 3D information of accuracy and actualization from surface survey to excavation.

The computations of an ultra-high degree associated Legendre functions and its first derivative up to degree and order of 10800 are reported. Not only the magnitude of orders for the ultra-high degree calculation is presented but the numerical stability and accuracy of the computed values are described in detail. The accuracy on the order of $10^{-25}\;and\;10^{-15}$ was obtained for the values of Legendre function and the first derivatives of Legendre functions, respectively. The computable highest degree and order of Legendre function in terms of latitudes and the linear relationship between the magnitude of the function with respect to degrees and orders is found. It is expected that the computed Legendre functions contribute in many geodetic and geophysical applications for simulations as well as theoretical verifications.
The purpose of this study is digitalization of earthwork such as development of 3D terrain analysis platform using latest technologies including unmanned aerial vehicle and terrestrial laser scanner to ultimately achieve earthwork automation. It is necessary to develop related element technologies and to establish regulations so that it can be applied to the domestic construction projects. As a result of pilot project about the earthwork surveying automation technology, it was confirmed that information such as terrain coordinates, soil, boring, and excavation volume is acquired smoothly. In this paper, we investigate related regulations and manuals in Japan and propose the improvement plan of domestic regulation. We plan to study regulations from early to final construction stage, combine with the 'regulation for public surveying', and improve the regulations in detail.

In order to conserve architecture accurately as original feature, we need to get the data which is measured in detail about the information of size, position, type, shape, and other terms for architectures. Recently, we need to get data fast and correctly, to compose and to update the database of geographic information system, but using existing method. it is difficult to update the data effectively in the rapid development of information industry. In this study, therefore, It is measured precisely architecture using accurate close-range photogrammetry The aims of this study are real-measured plan by processing acquired image through multi-image matching method if photogrammetry, suggesting the method which is able to draw in detail front plane and plane of well-established architecture, and giving data to obtain accurate size and 3-D coordinate using analytical method.

The Global Positioning System, GPS technology has been widely used in positioning and attitude determination. It is well known that the accuracy, availability and reliability of the positioning results are heavily dependent on the number and geometric distribution of tracked GPS satellites. Because of this limitation, in some situations, such as in urban canyons, underground space or inside of buildings, it is really hard to navigate with GPS receiver. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of satellite-based positioning, the integration of GPS with the pseudolite technology has been proposed. With this pseudolite technology, it is expected that seamless positioning service can be provided in wider area without replacing existing GPS receivers. On the other hand, to adopt pseudolites at larger scale, it is necessary to verify how the pseudolites can complement the existing GPS-based positioning. In this paper the authors present the detail of experimental investigations and the results of the fundamental verification for seamless positioning using integration of GPS and pseudolite. This paper shows that the accuracy and efficiency of integrating GPS and pseudolite through the dynamic and static positioning experiment and discuss about the influence on GPS receiver by pseudolite signal. The experimental results indicate that the accuracy of the height component can indeed be significantly improved, to approximately the same level as the horizontal component.
