  • In this paper, a highly reliable communication network for DCS (Distributed Control System) in nuclear power plant is designed. The structure and characteristics of DCS in nuclear power plant is briefly explained. The features needed for a communication network for DCS in nuclear power plant is described. According to the above features, a layer structure for the communication network is determined and each layer is designed in detail. Accuracy of the model was evaluated by computer simulation.

  • A continuous variable structure system control for a DC servomotor tracking controller is proposed to alleviate the chattering problems. The stability property of the proposed algorithm is analyzed in detail. The prescribed tracking error is guaranteed under load variations based on the stability analysis. Through the comparative simulations between the proposed algorithm and the conventional VSS, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proved.

  • Characteristics of spatial structure of particle clusters are investigated by using the flow field data obtained from three-dimensional numerical simulations. Eulerian/Lagrangian approach with two-way coupling is applied and individual particle-particle collisions are taken into account by using the hard-sphere model. More than 16 million particles are traced in the maximum case. The results show that the cluster is consisted from the multiple-spatial scale components while the low wave-number, hence the large-scale structure, is dominant. Three-dimensional structure reconstructed from the low-pass filtered data enables us to investigate the essential dynamics of particle clusters in detail.

  • In recent, development of construction and design technology gives taller, larger and heavier steel framed structures. With the tendency of increasing high-rise building, this study is strongly related to structural system, one of significant components in structural design. This study presents an innovative structural system, with high performance steel material, diagrid. Its detail, structural analysis, and structural experiments are all included for the development of new structures.

  • An efficient access technique is one of the most Important requirements in GIS. Using level -of-detailed data, we can access spatial data efficiently, because of no access to the fully detailed spatial data. Previous spatial access methods do not access data with level of detail efficiently. To solve it, a few spatial access methods for spatial data with level of detail, are known. However these methods support only a few kinds of data with level of detail, i.e, data through selection and simplification operations. For the effects, we propose a new spatial indexing method supporting fast searching in all kinds of data with level of detail. In the proposed method, the collection of indexes in its own level are integrated into a single index structure. Experimental results show that our method offers both no data redundancy and high search performance.

  • Fern gametophytes are a good model system to study plant morphogenesis, because of their simple organization and various photocontrolled responses. We studied fern photomorphogenesis including chloroplast photoorientation using Adiantum gametophytes to analyze signal transduction pathways of plant photomorphogenesis. Chloroplast photoorientation will be shown in detail and molecular structure of fern phytochromes and blue light absorbing pigments will also be discussed.

  • Sandwich plate structure is widely used in various fields of industry due to its excellent strength and stiffness compared with weight. In this paper, the mechanical behavior of sandwich plate structure with honeycomb core considering buckling is investigated in detail. The focus of the analysis is to evaluate strength and stiffness of the plate structure with critical stress, natural frequency, and mode shapes. The results of this investigation are obtained from detailed finite element analysis for various parameters, such as length, height ratio, and thickness ratio of honeycomb core.

  • In this paper we analyze Ziv's geometrical differentiated teaching and learning materials using inner structure of mathematics problems. In order to analyze inner structure of mathematics problems we in detail describe problem solving process, and extract main frame from problem solving process. We represent inner structure of mathematics problems as tree including induced relations. As a result, we characterize low-level problems and middle-level problems, and find some differences between low-level problems and middle-level problems.
