  • This paper proposes the interference cancellation improvement in smart antenna system by using Applebaum array covariance matrix adjustment. This technique adds the specific adjustable multipliers with both desired signal covariance matrix and interference signal covariance matrices in order to overcome some disadvantages and improve the interference cancellation efficiency of Applebaum array. It is based on the desired and undesired signal power or desired signal-to-interference-plus-thermal noise ratio (SINR). As the result from demonstration, the proposed technique can improve and increase the interference cancellation efficiency in smart antenna better than the conventional technique.

  • In this paper, we consider a precoder design problem for multiuser interference channel. Most of the conventional schemes for precoder design utilize a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) as a cost function. However, since the SINR metric of a desired transmitter-receiver pair is a function of precoding vectors of all transmitters in the multiuser interference channel, an analytic closed-form solution is not available for the precoding vector of a desired transmitter that maximizes the SINR metric. To eliminate coupling between the precoding vectors of all transmitters and to find a closed-form solution for the precoding vector of the desired transmitter, we use a signal-to-leakage-plus-noise ratio (SLNR) instead as a cost function because the SLNR at a transmitter is a function of the precoding vector of the desired transmitter only. In addition, channel estimation errors for undesired links are considered when designing the precoding vector because they are inevitable in a multiuser interference channel. In this case, we propose a design scheme for the precoding vector that is robust to the channel estimation error. In the proposed scheme, the precoding vector is designed to maximize the worst-case SLNR. Through computer simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has better performance than the conventional scheme in terms of SLNR, SINR, and sum rate of all users.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the block error probability of orthogonal multicarrier 16 QAM signal in a frequency selective Rician fading environment. The block error probability is evaluated with several parameters such as normalized propagation delay $(\gamma/T_S),$, bit energy to noise power ratio $(E_b/N_0),$ and desired signal to undesired signal power ratio (DUR) in fast fading and slow fading channels. In the fast fading channel, The result shows that the block error probability rather in the fast fading channel achieves better performance than in the slow fading channel, when the error correction capability is one or two.

  • This paper relates to the performance analysis of DoA estimation algorithm in 2-dimensional circular array antenna for the receiving of GPS signal which is used for the performance improvement by elimination of jammer signal. By performing the spatial filtering after the DoA estimation in array antenna, the quality of receiving signal can improve by the nulling of jammer signal from the undesired direction and the forming of beam from the desired direction. In this paper, the MUSIC and MinNorm algorithm used for DoA estimation were applied after fixing the angle and power of jammer signal in 4 element and 7 element circular array antenna. In order to performance analysis, the estimation result and estimation error were computed by computer simulation. As a result, the MUSIC and MinNorm were fairly good in azimuth and elevation angle estimation of DoA in case of good signal to noise ratio and the MUSIC has better performance compared to MinNorm in case of poor signal to noise ratio.

  • A technique to obtain an exact frequency characteristics of desired targets in radar measurements is presented. The pulsing network composed of two RF switches was installed between the Network Analyzer and the antenna, and the backscattering from a metal sphere was measured at X-band. It is shown that the pulsing effectively eliminated undesired returns from antenna and other circuitry of the systems. The antenna return was suppressed by more than 60 dB, and the signal-to-noise ratio was improved drastically. The pulsed frequency data were processed to extract the responses of the desired target. The result agrees well with the theoretical backscattering characteristics of the sphere. The methods presented here are applicable to RCS measurements in compact ranges, and also to the backscattering measurements of distributed targets outdoors.

  • The Korean radio broadcasting system is analog. Digital Radio will transmit a digital signal to existing analog FM/AM. It provides clear sound quality, traffic information, weather information and various value-added services. In addition, the converted digital radio will be able to meet demand to growing demand for analog FM. DRM + is an area to place, depending on the frequency of usage to less interference can be placed anywhere. In this paper, DRM + system, a brief description, and is currently using the frequency status were described, accordingly DRM + candidate channel derived measures proposed, the existing analog broadcast and DRM + of interference effects through the simulation has been verified.

  • In this paper, the effect of Near-Far Problem (NFP) among distributed nodes in OFDMA-based Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is analyzed by investigating statistical characteristics of Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) and Desired-to-Undesired power Ratio (DUR). In order to overcome the effects of Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI), Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI), and Inter Link Interference (ILI), caused by TDoA in WMNs, we derive effective SINR for each subcarrier, and then, propose the optimal starting point of FFT window which can minimize BER for each subcarrier. In addition, we propose a subcarrier-based Zero Forcing - 2 Dimensional Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation (ZF-2DOSIC) technique for signal detection in WMNs with TDoA. It is verified by simulation that the effective SINR and uncoded BER performances of the proposed signal detection technique for OFDMA-based WMNs are significantly improved, compared with those of conventional technique.

  • The Korean radio broadcasting system is analog. Compared with digital radio, the analog radio decreases the frequency efficiency. HD Radio is the method where the digital signal is transmitted on either side of the analog PM signal. Therefore, without relocating the analog frequency can transmit digital signals. If interference between analog and digital signal occurs it is impossible to receive smoothly, so HD Radio interference with existing analog PM will be analyzed. In this paper, based on Mt.Gwae-Bang stations within +-400kHz frequency of l03.5MHz, and to use the station to station by specifying the HD Radio channel interference, place the structures were analyzed. Through this paper, the reader of a digital radio frequency interference in the system know that it may obtain information about.
