A direct stator flux vector control scheme in discrete-time domain is proposed in this paper for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive to remove the proportional-integral (PI) controller from the direct torque control (DTC) scheme applied to IPMSM and to obtain faster dynamic response and lower torque ripple output. The output of speed outer loop is used as the desired torque angle instead of the desired torque in the proposed scheme. The desired stator flux vector in dq coordinate is calculated with a given amplitude. The state-space equations in discrete-time for IPMSM are established, the actual stator flux vector is estimated in deadbeat manner by a full-order state observer, and then the closed-loop control is achieved by the pole placement. The stator flux error vector is utilized to calculate the reference stator voltage vector. Extracting the angle position and amplitude from the estimated stator flux vector and estimating the output torque are eliminated for the direct feedback control of the stator flux vector. The proposed scheme is comparatively investigated with a PI-SVM DTC scheme by experiment results. Experimental results show the feasibility and advantages of the proposed control scheme.
It is common for popular products to sell out, and be out of stock. The purpose of this study is to examine the responses of consumers who have experiences of shopping online, and finding their desired products unavailable from being sold out. In order to carry out the study, in-depth interviews were conducted with ten recruits who were recruited from the Internet community, Soul Dresser, which is part of the Korean web portal, Daum. First, the cognitive reaction of the interviewees showed both positive and negative responses when they found out that their desired product was sold out. However, in the case of emotional reaction, all of them showed negative reactions. Observations showed that consumers researched and found similar products including price when they realized that their desired products were not going to be re-stocked. And in cases of similar products not being available, the consumers looked to buy other types of products such as bags, shoes, and other accessories.
The damping ratio $\zeta$ of the unit-step response of a second-order discrete system is a function of only the location of the closed-loop poles and is not directly related to the location of the system zero. However, the peak overshoot of the response is the function of both the damping ratio $\zeta$ and an angle $\alpha$, which is the phasor angle of the damped sinusoidal response and is determined by the relative location of the zero with respect to the closed-loop poles. Accordingly, when the closed-loop system poles are fixed, the peak overshoot is considered as a function of the angle $\alpha$ or the system zero location. In this paper the effects of the relative location of the zero on the system performance of a second-order discrete system is studied, and a design method of digital compensator which achieves arbitrary steady-state response with minimum peak overshoot while maintaining the desired system mode and the damping ratio of the unit step response is presented.
In this paper, we present an observer-based robust controller which achieves not only robust stability but also an performance robustness for linear uncertain discrete-time systems. The performance robustness means that comparing the transient behavior of the uncertain system with a desired one generated by the nominal system, the deterioration of control performance (i.e. the error between the real response and the desired one) is suppressed without excessive control input. The control law consists of a state feedback law for the nominal system and a compensation input given by a feedback form of an estimated error signal. In this paper, we show that conditions for the existence of the observer-based controller are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed technique.
The tip of the flexible robot arm has to be controlled by the active control reducing vibration because it has residual vibration after getting to desired position. This paper presents an end-point position control of a 1-link flexible robot arm having tip mass by the PID control algorithm. The system is composed of a flexible arm with tip mass, dc servomotor and ballscrew mechanism under translational motion. The feedback signal composed of the tip displacement measured by laser sensor, estimated velocity and acceleration is used to control the base motion. Theoretical results are obtained by applying the Laplace transform and the numerical inversion method to the governing equations. After the flexible robot arm reaches to. the desired position, the residual vibration is controlled by the PID algorithm. This paper gives the simulation and experimental results of end-point responses according to changing tip-mass and arm length. And this algorithm shows good effects of reducing the residual vibration. Approximately, theoretical response is in good agreement with experimental one.
A learning controller is presented for repetitive walking motion of biped robot. The learning control scheme learns the approximate inverse dynamics input of biped walking robot and uses the learned input pattern to generate an input profile of different walking motion from that learnt. In the learning controller, the PID feedback controller takes part in stabilizing the transient response of robot dynamics while the feedforward learning controller plays a role in computing the desired actuator torques for feedforward nonlinear dynamics compensation in steady state. It is shown that all the error signals in the learning control system are bounded and the robot motion trajectory converges to the desired one asymptotically. The proposed learning control scheme is ...
This paper introduced a design method of soldering station that can control two types of soldering iron heater. At design time, to distinguish two types of soldering iron heater the voltage divider rule has been applied, and the distinguished resistor is inserted to handler of soldering iron to prevent misuse by users. And an algorithm to design a PID controllers is proposed. The proposed controllers parameter which can be easily realized, and are designed by using the input output data from systems, and have outstanding ability making the output response of nonlinear systems similar to the desired one. Temperature control experiments were performed to verify the ability of the suggested controller. As a result, suggested PID controller followed the desired ones, and one soldering station can control the various type of soldering irons in real time.
In this paper, a robust nonlinear prediction-type controller (RNPC) is developed for the continuous time nonlinear system whose control objective is composed of system output and its desired value. The basic control law of RNPC is derived such that the future response of the system is first predicted by appropriate functional expansions and the control law minimizing the difference between the predicted and desired responses is then calculated. RNPC which involves two controls, i.e., the auxiliary and robust controls into the basic control, shows the stable closed loop dynamics of nonlinear system of any relative degree and provides the robustness to the nonlinear system with parameter/modeling uncertainty. Simulation tests for the position control of a two-link rigid body manipulator confirm the performance improvement and the robustness of RNPC.

Generally PI controller is used in the servo system, But the time response of the system which is designed by the PI control scheme is deviated from the desired time response by the system parameter variation or the perturbation like the torque disturbance. LMFC(Linear Model Following Controller) is used to make the response of the system follow that of the model even though the parameter variation or the perturbation exists. In this paper, the design method which uses auxiliary model to construct the robustness enhancer in LMFC is proposed. And this robustness enhancer is designed by robust control theory. The proposed method has facter convergence time against low frequency torque disturbance than LMFC. The results are verified by SIMULINK simulation and experiments.
A family of the structure-dependent methods seems very promising for time integration since it can simultaneously have desired numerical properties, such as unconditional stability, second-order accuracy, explicit formulation and numerical dissipation. However, an unusual overshoot, which is essentially different from that found by Goudreau and Taylor in the transient response, has been experienced in the steady-state response of a high frequency mode. The root cause of this unusual overshoot is analytically explored and then a remedy is successfully developed to eliminate it. As a result, an improved formulation of this family method can be achieved.
