The purpose of this study is to ascertain pattern design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. The basic assumption underlying this study is that these northeastern Asian states have been developed a unique inter-cultural ties over long periods of time in history, culminating in their respective design cultures. Undoubtly the ultimate goal to be pursued, by so doing, has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean pattern design element. In the West, the pattern is appreciated by an aesthetic level, but the East Asian pattern is a symbolic alphabet deeply rooted in religious and folk beliefs. The difference of the respective country comes from the expression style of the pattern the Chinese express the magnificent pattern with various color, the Korean do the moderate pattern with harmonious color with the nature and the Japanese do the stylized pattern with the material color. To sum up similarities and dissimilarities among the design element in traditional palaces of Korea, China, and Japan is as the following : It is to be noticed that the mainly common characteristics of the artistic design are 'naturalism', 'harmonious ideas 'and 'confucianism'. But the representation style of the design element is differed from the country.
The importance of brands as well as the consumers' emotional & cultural desire have increased. In the meantime, the companies have made efforts to create their positive brand images through the support of Mecenat using culture or social return. In addition, they made ceaseless efforts to provide consumers with a cultural space by building up brand service areas as part of their purpose. However, the rapidly increasing brand service spaces have not really appealed to consumers. In order to become a competitive and powerful brand in the severe brand market, it is necessary to enhance the brand image and to let the brand be considered as a culture and the lifestyle of consumers. In order to do so, the companies have to establish their market-driving strategies by creating new products or new market. To do so, it is important for them to figure out consumers' inner desire through the touch point with consumers. This study attempted to suggest a method of using a corporate museum as a space that could meet all of the said elements at a time. Through the route of a corporate museum, the companies would be able to study their future directions by looking back their history and they could be reborn as culture brands. Therefore, this study suggested that the corporate museum could be a space for culture and education as well as a brand space and could play a positive role in the companies; in this process, the study could grope for consumers' inner desire with its touch point where companies and consumers would meet and its utilization of brand market-driving strategy as a test marketing strategy observing consumers' responses.

Many of directors and producers were eager to make film to be with relevant views. At last film has making to do with the digital tool, so called 'Computer Graphics' . Making images through computers have changed more better with the developing skills of softwares. NASA has developed Aero-Simulations first, it have called computer graphics for the first time in history. The computer graphics can make images with very varieties that had not exprerienced before and we won't expect the upcomming skills of it. Special Effects(SFX) through the films began the genre of Science Fiction in the era of ideology and space competetions and producer George Lucas made the firm named ILMOndustrial Light & Magic) to making picture of SFX. At last 'Abyss', 'Terminator II', 'Toy Story' and 'Forrest Gump' have made to us with many splendid arangements by the computers. Especially, we can concluded that the relevant expressions as in 'Forrest Gump' is the unexpected charming and human images with wonder. In Korean films are less varied, relevant and reasonable than that of American films, in this study I hope to develope more natural Korean computer graphic in near future.

This is a study that examines the fashion changes in the 20th century in terms of various subcultures in the period. Starting from defining the concept and the developing process of subculture, this study traces the history of subcultural styles from 1930s to 1990s, focusing on the way each generation resisted the main stream through its styles. This study is intended to provide a theoretical frame on the understanding of subcultural styles, with a close examination of its formative and developing process and characteristics. This study understands subcultural style as a way of deviate or resistant expression within a society. It differentiates itself from the main style by deliberately and publicly asserting its own identity, and, as a result, realizes in the form of fashion its repressed subconsciousness, resistance to the alienation from the society, and deviation from the normative ethics and morality of a society. The four types of subcultural styles presented in chapter 4 are based on their form of resistance, and they are classified and analyzed as follows: The first type is revision, which tries to revise and change the given form by adding new elements. There are two kinds of revision, one is dressing up, which dresses for success, and the other is minimal dressing. Hyperbole is the second type, which resists by emphasizing or hyperbolizing the main stream with its erotic, nihilistic, or dynamic forms. Two kinds of hyperbole are examined, one is hyperbole of masculinity, and the other is ostentatious hyperbole. The third type is reversal and rejection, which reverses the forms from the established sign system into its own secret code, or rejects the traditional taboos. This type include no dressing, and the reversal of sex identity. Isolation and redrawal is the fourth type, which tries to distance itself from the ritual code of the day. This type is divided into dressing of the escape from time, and dressing of the escape from space. The first group of this type is characterized by nostalgia or futurism. An emphasis is given on ethnicity, naturalism, or a closed space within a city in dressing of the escape from space. In conclusion, it can be said that subcultural style puts the foremost importance on individual freedom. Since 1990s, the distinction between the subcultural styles and high fashion gets somewhat blurred, while the liberal, sexual, life stylistic tension between the two groups are heightened.

Recently, a coaching helps individual to lead and maximize performance. Generally there is a face to face coaching at the current spot of education, and the e-coaching is on the rise. And the face-to-face coaching means that coach and the coachee come face to face directly. And, the effective coaching method is required to supply the weakness and to maximize the strength of the e-coaching using the Internet. Accordingly, we are studying a hybrid coaching to overcome the difficulty and the limit of face-to-face coaching and online coaching. In this paper, we design and implement the career coaching system to provide the face-to-face coaching and the e-coaching for coachee based on the Web service on the Internet. We provide the hybrid coaching using Web service based on the Restful and connect with the database based on the Web to save and manage the profiles and the coaching history of the coach and the coachee. Proposed hybrid coaching system for coachee career improves remote accessibility between the coach and the coachee. This system provides the interaction without the limit of the time and the space, and overcomes the limit of the traditional face-to-face coaching on the online environment.

The present study provides numerical simulations to predict the added resistance and ship motion of the KVLCC2 in regular waves using the unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) and 3-D potential methods. This numerical analysis is focused on added resistance and vertical ship motions (heave and pitch) under a wide range of wave conditions at three ship speeds (design, operating and zero speeds). Firstly, the characteristics of the CFD and 3-D potential flow methods are presented to predict added resistance and ship motions in regular waves taking into account various wave conditions at design speed to provide a validation study as well as at operating and zero speeds. Secondly, analyses of added resistance and ship motion with unsteady wave patterns and time history results as simulated by CFD were performed at each ship speed. Systematic validation and verifications of the numerical computations in this study were made against available Experimental Fluid Dynamics (EFD) data including grid convergence tests to demonstrate that reliable numerical results were obtained for the prediction of added resistance and ship motion in waves. Relationships between added resistance, vertical motion and changes in ship speeds were also found.

In this paper, the floor vibration of an example concert hall building was measured and floor safety criteria were analytically checked through comparison between experimental and analytical results. The floor bottom plate model was constructed considering the composite effect and the analytical model was modified to have the natural frequency identical to the measured one. Also, time history analysis was conducted using the dynamic loads induced by human rhythmic movement during a musical performance, and the analytically calculated floor accelerations were similar to the measured one. Based on this model, the floor vibration level due to the group activities of about 400 persons, maximum available persons for the concert hall, was estimated. It was confirmed that the human induced dynamic loads applied to the column and beam would be much lower than the design strength. In addition, the horizontal acceleration level is just 2% of the design seismic load, so the concert hall is safe in both vertical and horizontal excitations by human rhythmic movements.
The present study investigates the non-linear soil-pile interaction using three-dimensional (3D) non-linear finite element models. The numerical models were validated by using the results of extensive pile load and shaking table tests. The pile performance in liquefiable and non-liquefiable soil has been studied by analyzing the liquefaction ratio, pile lateral displacement (LD), pile bending moment (BM), and frictional resistance (FR) results. The pile models have been developed for the different ground conditions. The study reveals that the results obtained during the pile load test and shaking cycles have good agreement with the predicted pile and soil response. The soil density, peak ground acceleration (PGA), slenderness ratio (L/D), and soil condition (i.e., dry and saturated) are considered during modeling. Four ground motions are used for the non-linear time history analyses. Consequently, design charts are proposed depended on the analysis results to be used for design practice. Eleven models have been used to validate the capability of these charts to capture the soil-pile response under different seismic intensities. The results of the present study demonstrate that L/D ratio slightly affects the lateral displacement when compared with other parameters. Also, it has been observed that the increasing in PGA and decreasing L/D decreases the excess pore water pressure ratio; i.e., increasing PGA from 0.1 g to 0.82 g of loose sand model, decrease the liquefaction ratio by about 50%, and increasing L/D from 15 to 75 of the similar models (under Kobe earthquake), increase this ratio by about 30%. This study reveals that the lateral displacement increases nonlinearly under both dry and saturated conditions as the PGA increases. Similarly, it is observed that the BM increases under both dry and saturated states as the L/D ratio increases. Regarding the acceleration histories, the pile BM was reduced by reducing the acceleration intensity. Hence, the pile BM decreased to about 31% when the applied ground motion switched from Kobe (PGA=0.82 g) to Ali Algharbi (PGA=0.10 g). This study reveals that the soil conditions affect the relationship pattern between the FR and the PGA. Also, this research could be helpful in understanding the threat of earthquakes in different ground characteristics.

A flexible-base coupled-two-beam (CTB) discrete model with equivalent tuned mass dampers is used to assess the effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI) and different types of lateral resisting systems on the design of passive dynamic absorbers (PDAs) under the action of along-wind and across-wind loads due to vortex shedding. A total of five different PDAs are considered in this study: (1) tuned mass damper (TMD), (2) circular tuned sloshing damper (C-TSD), (3) rectangular tuned sloshing damper (R-TSD), (4) two-way liquid damper (TWLD) and (5) pendulum tuned mass damper (PTMD). By modifying the non-dimensional lateral stiffness ratio, the CTB model can consider lateral deformations varying from those of a flexural cantilever beam to those of a shear cantilever beam. The Monte Carlo simulation method was used to generate along-wind and across-wind loads correlated along the height of a real shear wall-frame building, which has similar fundamental periods of vibration and different modes of lateral deformation in the xz and yz planes, respectively. Ambient vibration tests were conducted on the building to identify its real lateral behavior and thus choose the most suitable parameters for the CTB model. Both alongwind and across-wind responses of the 144-meter-tall building were computed considering four soil types (hard rock, dense soil, stiff soil and soft soil) and a single PDA on its top, that is, 96 time-history analyses were carried out to assess the effect of SSI and lateral resisting system on the PDAs design. Based on the parametric analyses, the response significantly increases as the soil flexibility increases for both type of lateral wind loads, particularly for flexural-type deformations. The results show a great effectiveness of PDAs in controlling across-wind peak displacements and both along-wind and across-wind RMS accelerations, on the contrary, PDAs were ineffective in controlling along-wind peak displacements on all soil types and different kind of lateral deformation. Generally speaking, the maximum possible value of the PDA mass efficiency index increases as the soil flexibility increases, on the contrary, it decreases as the non-dimensional lateral stiffness ratio of the building increases; therefore, there is a significant increase of the vibration control effectiveness of PDAs for lateral flexural-type deformations on soft soils.

Those successful marketing strategies are as follows. 1) they regarded both market and consumer oriented marketing activity as company's highest priority strategy and put great emphasis upon concentration on target market and reestablishment of brand image of business casual wear. 2) Setting up and operating planning team composed of merchandizer alone in Milano, they set the direction of plan on the basis of concentrated research on potential item in market according to thorough market research done by buying office in Korea, branch office in Hong Kong and buyer in US prior to blueprint planning for season. 3) Great emphasis was placed on business which focused on intensive presentation of basic key item for apparel career women who are main consumer group in the midium-low prices market in US and on supplementation of size and color. they named this line 'collectibles' and helped their customer develop their own clothes plan without worrying about the change of color and fabric by supporting same fabric and color throughout the year and enabled them to add variation easily by supplementing new trend item. 4) Company set black as a main color that lots of apparel career women find easy to care and to express their own image and presented them with pebble which belongs to navy and beige and added fashion color such as wine and brown etc as season goes by. They constructed basic line in order for their customers to coordinate purchased item with new one or to add them to present collection, and to achieve efficient sale by setting up strategy which allows this cross coordination and changing pattern occasionally. 5) Though basic jacket for 99$, short slim skirt for 49$ are products within midium-low prices range, in the material planning stage aiming at production of item that has both resonable function appealing to consumer and is fashionable, synthetic material had to be used as a main source due to price competitiveness. Despite this situation, considering comfortable sense of fit and refined drape of silhouette that has no sign of cheap material, whole collectible line was divided into two items, which contributed to reduction of cost. In case of material that is composed of triacetate and polyester in 70 to 30 ratio, was used up to 4 million yard, which allowed drastic curtailment of cost accompanied by concentration.
