In middle- and long-distance imaging systems, due to the atmospheric turbulence caused by temperature, wind speed, humidity, and so on, light waves propagating in the air are distorted, resulting in image-quality degradation such as geometric deformation and fuzziness. In remote sensing, astronomical observation, and traffic monitoring, image information loss due to degradation causes huge losses, so effective restoration of degraded images is very important. To restore images degraded by atmospheric turbulence, an image-restoration method based on improved compound multibranch feature fusion (CMFNetPro) was proposed. Based on the CMFNet network, an efficient channel-attention mechanism was used to replace the channel-attention mechanism to improve image quality and network efficiency. In the experiment, two-dimensional random distortion vector fields were used to construct two turbulent datasets with different degrees of distortion, based on the Google Landmarks Dataset v2 dataset. The experimental results showed that compared to the CMFNet, DeblurGAN-v2, and MIMO-UNet models, the proposed CMFNetPro network achieves better performance in both quality and training cost of turbulent-image restoration. In the mixed training, CMFNetPro was 1.2391 dB (weak turbulence), 0.8602 dB (strong turbulence) respectively higher in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio and 0.0015 (weak turbulence), 0.0136 (strong turbulence) respectively higher in terms of structure similarity compared to CMFNet. CMFNetPro was 14.4 hours faster compared to the CMFNet. This provides a feasible scheme for turbulent-image restoration based on deep learning.

In the tunnel of domestic high - speed railway, the main fire - fighting facility, fire - extinguishing passageway, is installed. However, due to the high pressure of the high - speed train, frequent breakage and maintenance are caused by strong shock and long - term vibration. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to improve the fire door, but in Korea, it is installed by submitting a certificate by simple KS F 2296 performance test. At present, it is developed as a simple test certification by producing a real scale fireproof door without the theoretical examination in advance, so that a high cost for improvement is occurring in Korea. Therefore, through this study, structural analysis study which can preliminary structure review was carried out in order to design the refuge connection passage fire door and to improve the performance improvement. In order to secure the reliability of the result value, the official authentication test (KS F 2296) were compared.
Climatological informations have not been fully utilized by agricultural research and extension workers in Korea due mainly to inaccessbilty to the archived climate data. This study was initiated to improve access to historical climate data gathered from 72 weather stations of Korea Meteorological Administration for agricultural applications by using a microcomputer-based methodology. The climatological elements include daily values of average, maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, average and maximum wind speed, wind direction, evaporation, precipitation, sunshine duration and cloud amount. The menu-driven, user-friendly data retrieval system(CLIDAS) provides quick summaries of the data values on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and selective retrieval of weather records meeting certain user specified critical conditions. Growing degree days and potential evapotranspiration data are derived from the daily climatic data, too. Data reports can be output to the computer screen, a printer or ASCII data files. CLIDAS can be run on any IBM compatible machines with Video Graphics Array card. To run the system with the whole database, more than 50 Mb hard disk space should be available. The system can be easily upgraded for further expansion of functions due to the module-structured design.

Recent rapid urban expansion and crowding of various industrial facilities has affected the features of a significant part of downtown area, resulting in areas having buildings with a wide range of height and the foothills. To compute a velocity pressure exposure coefficient, namely the design wind speed factor, this study defines ground surface roughness by utilizing concentration analysis for the height of each building. After obtaining spatial data by extracting a building layer from digital maps, the study area was partitioned for the concentration analysis and to allow investigation of the frequency distribution of building heights. Concentration analysis by building height was determined with the Variation-to-Means Ratio (VMR) and Poisson distribution analysis using a buildings distribution chart, with statistical significance determined using Chi-square verification. Applying geographic information systems (GIS) with the architectural information made it possible to estimate a velocity pressure exposure coefficient factor more quantitatively and objectively, by including geographic features, as compared to current methods. Thus, this method is expected to eliminate inaccuracies that arise when building designers calculate the velocity pressure exposure coefficient in subjective way, and to help increase the wind resistance of buildings in a more logical and cost-effective way.

This paper suggests a temperature guidance for requirements which must be addressed in the preparation of specifications for military equipment used in land applications in the Korean peninsula. In general, the equipment should be designed to operate during all but a certain small percentage of the time. Daegu and Yangpyeong are the hottest and coldest regions by month, respectively, based on surface weather observations over 132 regions from 1904 to 2014. The 1-percent high and low temperatures for land environment in the South Korea are $38.7^{\circ}C$, and -$29.0^{\circ}C$, respectively. This paper also presents the temperature values occurring for specified frequencies of occurrence during the most severe month. Diurnal cycles associated with the hottest and coldest top one-percent temperatures, including associated solar radiation, relative humidity, and wind-speed are provided.
A numerical study was performed on the transient fuel temperatures of a military aircraft stationed under non-operating static condition. Numerical calculation was peformed by an explicit method using modified Dufort-Frankel scheme. It was assumed that the non-operating aircraft is subjected to repeated daily cycles of air temperature with the solar radiation and wind speed corresponding to the 1 % hot day ambient condition. And, the aircraft was assumed to be in turbulent flow. The convective heat transfer coefficient for turbulent flow on the flat plate suggested by Eckert was employed to calculate heat transfer between the aircraft surface and the ambience. The energy conservation equation on fuel was used as governing equation for this analysis. As a result of this analysis, the wing tank temperature showed the highest temperature and the largest rate of temperature changes among fuel tanks. The results of this analysis could be used as initial foe] temperatures for analysis of the transient fuel temperatures in various flight missions. Also, this analysis method could be used to analysis and design of an aircraft thermal energy management system.

Meanwhile, reference evapotranspiration(ET0) is important information for agricultural management including irrigation planning and drought assessment, the database of reference evapotranspiration for future periods was rarely constructed especially at districts unit over the country. The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) provides several meteorological data such as precipitation, average temperature, humidity, wind speed, and radiation for long-term future period at daily time-scale. This study aimed to build a database for reference evapotranspiration using the climate forecasts at high resolution (the outputs of HadGEM3-RA provided by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA)). To estimate reference evapotranspiration, we implemented four different models such as FAO Modified Penman, FAO Penman-Monteith, FAO Blaney-Criddle, and Thornthwaite. The suggested database system has an open architecture so that user could add other models into the database. The database contains 5,050 regions' data for each four models and four Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) climate change scenarios. The developed database system provides selecting features by which the database users could extract specific region and period data.

Estimating the reference evapotranspiration is an important factor to consider in irrigation system design and agricultural water use. However, there is a limitation in using the FAO Penman-Monteith (FAO P-M) equation, which requires various meteorological data. The purpose of this study is to compare three reference evapotranspiration (ETo) equations in the case of meteorological data missing for 11 study weather stations. Firstly, the FAO P-M equation is used for reference potential evapotranspiration estimation with the actual solar radiation data $R_n$ and the actual vapor pressure $e_a$. Then, in the case of $R_n$, and $e_a$ are missed, the reference evapotranspirations applying FAO P-M, Priestley-Taylor (P-T), Hargreaves (HG) equation were calculated using other meteorological factors. Secondly, MAE, RMSE, $R^2$ were calculated to compare ETo relationship from the ETo equations. From the results, ETo with Hargreaves equation in coastal areas and the Priestley-Taylor equation in the inland areas showed relatively high correlation with FAO P-M when $e_a$ data is missed. In the case of $R_n$ data is missed or two weather data, $e_a$, and $R_n$ data are all missed, $R^2$ value in Priestley-Taylor equation was highest in coastal areas, and $R^2$ values in Hargreaves equation were the high values for 7 inland areas. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that net radiation was the most sensitive for P-T and HG equation, and for FAO P-M, the most sensitive factor was net radiation and relative humidity, air temperature and wind speed were follows. Therefore, in considering of the accessibility to the coast, the types of the missing wether data, and the correlation and the magnitude of error, the reference evapotranspiration equations would be selected in sense of different conditions.
Impact by estimation error of hourly horizontal global solar radiation in a weather file on building energy performance was investigated in this study. There are a number of weather parameters in a given weather file, such as dry-bulb, wet-bulb, dew-point temperatures; wind speed and direction; station pressure; and solar radiation. Most of them except for solar radiation can be easily obtained from weather stations located on the sites worldwide. However, most weather stations, also including the ones in South Korea, do not measure solar radiation because the measuring equipment for solar radiation is expensive and difficult to maintain. For this reason, many researchers have studied solar radiation estimation models and suggested to apply them to predict solar radiation for different weather stations in South Korea, where the solar radiation is not measured. However, only a few studies have been conducted to identify the impact caused by estimation errors of various solar radiation models on building energy performance analysis. Therefore, four different weather files using different horizontal global solar radiation data, one using measured global solar radiation, and the other three using estimated global solar radiation models, which are Cloud-cover Radiation Model (CRM), Zhang and Huang Model (ZHM), and Meteorological Radiation Model (MRM) were packed into TRY formatted weather files in this study. These were then used for office building energy simulations to compare their energy consumptions, and the results showed that there were differences in the energy consumptions due to these four different solar radiation data. Additionally, it was found that using hourly solar radiation from the estimation models, which had a similar hourly tendency with the hourly measured solar radiation, was the most important key for precise building energy simulation analysis rather than using the solar models that had the best of the monthly or yearly statistical indices.
This study analysed overall heat transfer coefficient, heat transmission, and rate of indoor air heating provided by water curtain in order to determine the heat transfer characteristic of double-layered greenhouse equipped with a water curtain system. The air temperatures between the inner and outer layers were determined by the water flow rate and inlet water temperature. Higher water flow rate and inlet water temperature resulted in the increased overall heat transfer coefficient between indoor greenhouse air and water curtain. However, it was found that with higher levels of water flow rate and inlet water temperature, indoor overall heat transfer coefficient was converged about $10W{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}^oC^{-1}$. The low correlation of overall heat transfer coefficient between water curtain and air within double layers was likely because the combination of greenhouse shape, wind speed and outdoor air temperature as well as water curtain affected the heat transfer characteristics. As water flow rate and inlet water temperature increased, the heat transferred into the greenhouse by water curtain also tend to rise. However it was demonstrated that the rate of heat transmission from water curtain into greenhouse with water curtain system using underground water was accounted for 22% to 28% for total heat lost by water curtain. The results of this study which quantify heat transfer coefficient and net heat transfer from water curtain may be a good reference for economical design of water curtain system.
