Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology has been advanced to fabricate initial prototypes from various materials. Stratasys′ Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the typical RP processes that provide functional prototypes of ABS plastic. In order to predict the behavior of final ABS parts, it is critical to understand the material properties of the raw FDM process material, and the effect that FDM build parameters have on the FDM part. In this paper, we seek to characterize the properties of ABS parts fabricated by the FDM 1650. Using the Design of Experiment (DOE) approach, the process parameters of FDM, such as raster orientation, air gap, bead width, color, and model temperature were examined. Tensile strengths of crisscross specimens, 〔45°/-45°〕, cross specimens, 〔0°/90°〕, and directionally fabricated tensile specimens (〔0°〕 and 〔90°〕) were measured and compared with the injection molded FDM-ABS P400 material. For the FDM parts made with a -0.003"air gap, the typical tensile strength ranged between 50 percent and 83 percent of the strength of injection molded ABS P400. From the experiments, a couple of build rules for designing FDM parts were obtained.

In Japan, it has been argued between architects and contractors that which process is desirable, the traditional process or the design-build process. It is called the contractor-designer issue. In 1968, Kajima Corporation chairman Morinosuke Kajima and the Japan Architects Association had a public controversy over it. On the other hand, in practice, architects and contractors have secured quality of buildings thorough a close communication in the design and construction process of building. What are the relationships between architects and contractors? What roles do architects and contractors have in practice? This study has two aims. First one is to analyze the contractor-designer issue based on roles and relationships between architects and contractors, and then to show conflicts between them. Second one is to consider issues which architects face in the relationships with contractors.

Lately, cities have been trying to build a certain brand by using its identity and culture in public designs. Cities are using its public design to show its cultural identity and to differentiate itself from other cities so it is playing a significant role in establishing a city's overall image. Public uniform is used to reflect the symbolism and identity of the city, an image of the city's culture and is used as a means of communication for specialization. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop public uniform designs to build and strengthen the brand of Gwangju as Asia cultural hub city. Research presents a review of the literature including concept and type of a cultural city, correlativity between public design and urban competitiveness, domestic and foreign culture city branding case: focusing on Gwangju which is a cultural hub city in Asia, and then study sets up the development direction and motifs of uniform designs, and uniforms are designed by making use of the textile with symbols and logos, colors, and architectural motifs of Asian Culture Complex. Development ranges of uniforms were limited to Cultural Tourism Narrators and the Asian Culture Complex Advertisements staff uniforms, within the region of cultural tourism. Textile design, illustration, uniform simulation using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Adobe Illustrator CS 3 program is presented.

세계 시장에 먼저 뛰어든 건설업계에 이어 국내 설계분야 또한 최근 해외 진출이 활발해 지고 있으며, 그의 대부분은 디자인빌드(Design-Build)계약을 통해 동남아, 중동지역을 중심으로 점차 확대되고 있다. 그러나 계약단계에서 다수의 이해관계자가 존재하는 해외건설의 특수성으로 인한 업무상 많은 시행착오와 그로 인한 실패 사례도 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 건설 분야의 해외진출 현황 통계 및 사례들을 통해 문제점을 제시하고, 전문가 인터뷰와 설문조사를 실시하여 건축설계분야 해외건설 계약단계의 효율성 저해요인을 분석하였다. 분설 결과를 바탕으로 마스터아키텍트제도 도입 및 내부 평가조직 구성을 통한 문제점 개선방안을 제시하였고, 이는 해외건설시장의 신규 진출 기업에게 실무적 자료로 활용 될 것으로 기대한다.

School is a basic and the most fundamental facility of city planning just like other basic public facilities including the village office. Every plan is established on the basis of school. However, the problems such as the population reduction resulting from the nuclear family-zation and low birth rate, employment and welfare of the aged people resulting from "the old aged society", and the infant nursing and education resulting from a rapid increase of the working couples become notable and accordingly more requirements are being made. Reflecting this trend, the concept and operation system should be changed. Up to now, the BTL projects of the educational facilities are gaining a reputation of being efficient in terms of national budget running, but at the same time receiving negative reputation in terms of budget saving under the civil creativity and efficiency. Through upgrading the private sector investment projects into the BTO+BTL system and further into the BTO(Build Transfer Operate), we can accomplish the original goals of the private sector investment projects, and can make the education budget operation more efficient, and can greatly improve the education environments. However, we should not underestimate in this process that these facilities should not negatively affect the education environments. In any situation, the owners of schools are students.
