Wall Painting System using Robot (로봇을 이용한 벽화 시스템)

  • In this paper, I explain the design and implementation of an automated drawing system by communicating with a user. I made a system providing an UI for virtual environmental actual robot to interwork with environment to make a drawing that I was able to read work, and to help convenience of a user in computers. The UI of a system was used the AWT(Abstract Window Toolkit) in NetBean tools. To draw images, I got image information from SVG vector files. This system can make images according to the demand of users by using real-time communication. Also this kind of drawing process can be an artists performance, not only the final image as a result of the work. So I suggest that this real-time drawing process which is operated by user’s command can be considered as an artists performance.

U-Silvercare Service based on Context-awareness (상황인식 기반의 U-Silvercare서비스)

  • U-Healthcare is more efficient as a solving method for health problems rather than visiting the hospital. Recently, systems have been studied to offer appropriate service to user, which gather and analyze biological signals of a user and context information around the user from a variety of sensors. The existing systems for U-Healthcare are based on domain specific service so it is difficult to expand and link to other systems. Also, they lack services focusing on the specific quality of the user, because they offer a general service which targets a lot of users. To address this problem, we expand an extensibility of system using the context-awareness agent based on multi-agents. Also, we provide the suitable services which match with the context information of user to each user using the modeling toolkit JaUCE based on GUI. We design and implement U-Silvercare service to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed context-awareness agent and modeling toolkit.

Numerical wind load estimation of offshore floating structures through sustainable maritime atmospheric boundary layer

  • Wind load is one of the major design loads for the hull and mooring of offshore floating structures, especially due to much larger windage area above water than under water. By virtue of extreme design philosophy, fully turbulent flow assumption can be justified and the hydrodynamic characteristics of the flow remain almost constant which implies the wind load is less sensitive to the Reynolds number around the design wind speed than wind profile. In the perspective of meteorology, wind profile used for wind load estimation is a part of Atmospheric Boundary Layer (ABL), especially maritime ABL (MBL) and have been studied how to implement the profile without losing turbulence properties numerically by several researchers. In this study, the MBL is implemented using an open source CFD toolkit, OpenFOAM and extended to unstable ABL as well as neutral ABL referred to as NPD profile. The homogeneity of the wind profile along wind direction is examined, especially with NPD profile. The NPD profile was applied to a semi-submersible rig and estimated wind load was compared with the results from wind tunnel test.

  • This paper presents a case study of designing the stroller and its renting system for department stores in order to verify the feasibility of the participatory design approach, in particular the concept generation toolkits and the participatory design workshops, in the product development process. As the concept generation toolkits to draw active user participation, a Velcro Covered stroller model and a Block Layout System were developed and used in a series of the participatory design workshops. The results suggest that the participatory design approach provides better understanding of what the users want and allows designers to avoid false expectation about the design context. It was also found that the experience of design team with the users in the workshop was a good source of design ideation. The study also suggests that participatory design approach can become more effective by developing the concept generation toolkits which are more appropriate for design problems and the methods to smoothly transform the concepts from users into synthesized design solutions.

  • In this paper we deal with a design of the evaluation system to assess the vehicle operational control algorithm for Personal Rapid Transit(PRT) system. PRT system is different from the conventional rail traffic system in such that the station is off-line so as to guarantee a very short headway. In this study we propose an evaluation system to assess the performance of the proposed vehicle control algorithm. The evaluation system is composed of virtual vehicles, central control system, virtual wayside facilities, monitoring equipments. The virtual vehicles are made up by the laptop computers and the central control system employs Power PC process of Motorola Inc. The wayside facilities are implemented by employing the PXI module of the National Instruments Corporation. In order to test the proposed evaluation system a test algorithm is used, which has been simulated in the combined simulation system between Labview Simulation Interface Toolkit and Matlab/Simulink.

  • 본 연구는 매우 짧은 차간 간격을 요구하면서 차량 간의 충돌을 피하기 위해서 매우 정확한 속도제어를 필요로 하는 개인 고속 이동 시스템의 운행제어 알고리즘의 검증을 위한 검증 시스템의 설계에 대해서 다룬다. 검증시스템은 모의 차량, 중앙제어 시스템, 모의지상설비, 모니터링 장치로 구성된다. 모의차량은 총 4EA의 서버(노트북)로 구성 하며, 중앙(지역)제어시스템은 산업용 Motorola사(社)의 PowerPC기반 프로세서 모듈 및 I/O 보드 장치로 구성한다. 모의지상설비는 National Instruments社의 PXI 산업용 제어기를 사용하여 구현한다. 설계된 검증시스템의 시험을 위해서 Labview Simulation Interface Toolkit 과 Matlab/Simulink 가 결합된 환경하에서 모의시험을 거친 시험용 알고리즘을 이용한다.

Visualization of CAE Analysis Results using JT (JT를 이용한 CAE 해석결과 가시화)

  • In the manufacturing industries, viewing CAE analysis results is frequently required during the product development process for design verification. CAE data which include all related information of an analysis is, however, not efficiently shared among designers because CAE data size is in general large to deal with. In order to increase collaboration among designers this paper introduces the development of a CAE visualization system based on JT format exploiting for a large model visualization with a scene graph-based toolkit. Since CAE analysis results and JT format have different structure we developed a translator to convert the CAE result in binary format to the JT format. To show the effectiveness of JT format in showing the CAE result we also developed a prototype viewer offering basic functions provided by commercial systems. By using JT format we are able not only to reduce the size of analysis results, but to store a series of analysis results with several LOD in a data file.

  • 그리드 정보검색 시스템은 일반적인 정보검색 시스템의 문제점과 한계점을 인식하고, 그리드라는 분산처리 환경을 기반으로 정보검색 시스템을 구축함으로써 보다 효율적이고 유연한 확장성을 갖는 정보검색 서비스를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 시스템 환경에 맞게 그리드 미들웨어 중에 하나인 글로버스 툴킷(Globus Toolkit)을 이용하여 정보검색을 위한 가상 조직(VO: Virtual Organization)을 구성했다. 그리고 그리드 정보검색을 위한 전단계로 웹상에서 각종 정보를 수집하는 P2P 기반 분산 크롤러들을 관리하는 크롤러 매니저를 그리드 서비스로 설계 및 구현하여 그리드 정보검색 시스템에 존재하는 다른 서비스들과 함께 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

A Study on a Construction of Control System for the Tracking of a Speed Profile in the Personal Rapid Transit System (소형궤도차량 시스템에서 속도 프로파일 추종을 위한 제어시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study is concerned with the control system design using Labview Simulation Interface Toolkit and Matlab/simulink combined system for an application to the personal rapid transit system which has very short headway, requiring accurate speed control to avoid the impact between the vehicles. A simple equation of motion for a vehicle which is activated on the linear motor is introduced. A speed profile that should be tracked by a rear vehicle is produced based on the state information of the two vehicles(the preceding vehicle and the rear vehicle). The speed profile tracking control system is designed by Matlab/simulink. The simulation results show that the proposed control system is effective to evaluate the speed tracking performance.

  • 인간을 대신해서 산업현장을 운영하고 있는 공장자동화 소프트웨어(FMS: Flexible Manufacturing System)가 첨단시대에 발맞추어 다양한 종류로 개발되고 있다. 자동화된 생산라인을 거치는 제품의 품질은 생산기계장치의 품질뿐만 아니라 전반적인 공정을 담당하는 FMS의 성능에도 크게 좌우된다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 설계는 공장자동화 생산설비인 FMS의 품질평가를 지원하는 툴킷이다. 즉, 완성된 제품이 제품개발목적에 적합한지 그 적절성과 제반사항에 대한 평가를 지원한다. 또한 측정과정에서 발견된 오류 및 평가내역을 관리할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 기능은 차후 FMS를 개발할 때 관련자가 평가이력을 참조할 수 있도록 함으로써 FMS 품질관리에 도움을 줄 수 있다.
