디자인과 서비스생산성에 대한 과학적 접근 (A Scientific Approach for the Design and Service Productivity)

  • Design productivity can't be easily measured since there are so many different design productivity factors but such a few meaningful design product units. It's very difficult to evaluate the performance of design activities. Performance measures are not defined easily and are not measured correctly in many cases. So, in this paper the value added productivity is used to measure and analyze design productivity. Some issues are analysed to assess real productivity level of Korean service industry. And then we propose a few ways to Improve design productivity including the use of scientific approach at design processes and the change of the industry structure. It seems that the higher the level of IT(Information Technology) usage at a design industry is, the higher the design productivity is. Further research will be needed to investigate scientific approaches to increase design productivity.

  • $\ulcorner$ID생산성$\lrcorner$이란 $\ulcorner$인더스트리얼 디자인$\lrcorner$(Industrial Design; 이하 ID로 약칭)과 $\ulcorner$생산성$\lrcorner$(Productivity)을 결합한 용어로서 그 개념은 상품의 디자인개발에 투입된 모든 디자인자원 및 요소의 효율적인 이용도를 나타내는 지표로 설명될 수 있다. $\ulcorner$ID생산성$\lrcorner$은객관 적인 방법과 주관적인 방법 두 가지 측면에서 측정 할 수 있다. 전자는 투입과 산출의 관계를 가능한 객관적, 정량적으로 분석한다는 방식이며, 후자는 ID의 방법 자체가 극히 주관적이라는 특성을 전제로 하여 $\ulcorner$ID생산성$\lrcorner$을 가능한 한 정상적으로 분석하는 방법이다. 전자는 디자인 시간, 디자이너 수 , 경비를 공통의 투입요소로 사용하여 개인별.요소별.디자인문문 전체의 디자인 생산성 측정 그 자체가 불가능하며 신뢰성이 없는 단점이 있다. 후자는 Good Design을 산출요소로 사용하여 개인 및 디자인 부문 전체의 합리적 디자인 생산성 측정이 가능한 반면, 주관적 평가를 위한 설문조사나 분석방법 절차 등이 번거러운 단점이 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 전자보다는 매우 합리적이며 신뢰도가 높다는 이점이 있다.

Does GVC Participation Improve the Productivity of Korean Manufacturing Firms? : Evidence from Subgroup Analysis Using Enterprise-level Data

  • Purpose - Considering the recent instability of world economy and its heavy dependence on foreign, Korea must formulate breakthrough approaches to proactively cope with these adverse global developments. As such, this study aims to ascertain how participation in global value chains (GVCs) relates to corporate productivity and derive policy implications. Design/methodology - This study utilizes the microdata of Korean manufacturers to develop indicators of GVC participation at the enterprise level and analyzes the effects of GVC participation on the firm's total factor productivity by using fixed effect model. Findings - Enterprises with highest rates of export-side GVC participation see their productivity grow as their export-side GVC participation rates increase. In addition, when companies are classified by their export-side GVC participation rates, increasing export values improves all firm's productivity. In particular, those with low participation rates are analyzed to achieve higher productivity by increasing their imports, not only exports, which implies that companies with lower export-side GVC participation can boost productivity by reinforcing their export and import activities. Originality/value - This research paper distinguishes itself from others in that it makes a novel attempt to design the indicators of GVC participation at the enterprise level, not at the national or industry level. In addition, this study contributes to the existing literature by dividing companies into subgroups depending on their GVC participation rates for each of export and import and identifying variances in the effect of GVC participation on productivity growth among subgroups.

설계 생산성 향상을 위한 혼-타입 타 설계 프로그램 개발 (Development of Horn-Type Rudder Design Program to Increase Design-Productivity)

  • It is well known that a rudder is influential devices to help ship maintain its stable performances, such as a course-keeping and maneuverability. In the procedures of a commercial ship design proper rudder dimensions (area and shape) ensuring better ship maneuverability have been settled in an initial concept design stage performed by a preceding department, without little structural consideration. It is true that there are time discrepancy between an initial design and a structural analysis stage. Therefore structural analysis results would sometimes cause a rudder to modify its dimensions. Most of these cases, however, ship design and performance tests had been finished. In this matter, only limited modifications of redder could be carried out. Besides, these could also cause bad effects on productivity. Finally, it is necessary to develop a new program considering co-relationship between an initial rudder design and a following work, a structural strength analysis, in order to enhance productivity and minimize a rate of redesign procedures.

  • As billion transistors system-on-chip (SoC) design becomes a reality, the productivity gap between rapidly increasing design complexity and designer productivity lagging behind is becoming a more serious problem to be solved. To reduce the gap, we present a system that generates executable transaction level models automatically. It speed up the SoC design space exploration process at various abstraction levels.

비정형 건축물 공사의 생산성 분석 및 향상방안 - 노출콘크리트 공사를 중심으로 - (An Analysis and Improvement of Free Form Building's Construction Productivity - Focused on Exposed Concrete Work -)

  • 2007년 독일의 건축 잡지 바우넷에서 선정한 세계 5대 설계사들의 2006 ~ 2010년 설계한 전체 설계 중 25%가 비정형 건축물로, 비정형 건축물은 도시, 국가의 랜드마크로서 그 사회적, 경제적 파급효과가 매우 크다. 국내 또한 인천세계도시축전 기념관, 킨텍스 제2전시관, 동대문디자인 플라자 등 비정형 건축물이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 설계 트렌드 및 증가하고 있는 비정형 건축물의 수요에 반해 이를 충족할 만한 비정형 건축 프로젝트의 설계 및 시공 관리 경험 부족으로 인해 비정형 프로젝트는 수익성을 기대하기 어렵고, 완공 후에도 많은 문제들이 부각되고 있다. 특히 국내 인력의 비정형 프로젝트 수행 경험부족으로 인해 불확실한 공사비 예측, 설계 과다변경 등으로 인해 완공 후에도 품질 문제를 비롯한 공사비 상승 관련 문제들이 계속 발생하고 있으며, 이와 같은 비정형 건축물의 특성을 고려하지 못한 초기 계획은 프로젝트 수행 시 실제와 그 차이가 커 프로젝트 관리 리스크로 작용하지만 아직 비정형 건축물 프로젝트 관련 실적자료나 사례분석 자료 구축은 미비로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비정형 건축물 공사 중 생산성이 낮은 공종을 선정하여 작업 프로세스 분석 및 실제 현장 생산성 자료 분석을 통해 실질적인 생산성 자료 구축 및 비정형 건축물 공사 생산성 향상 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In the 21 century, it is emphasized that administration concerning the employees's welfare can only obtain the ultimate advancement in productivity. the employee's welfare strategy include proper salary, labor time, work-environment and so on. This study aims ti finding out the relationship between the amenity of the resting space and productivity in the automobile factory, The resting space is the is one of the major elements consisting the work-environment. As a result, It is exposed that the amenity of the resting place can promote psychological and physical satisfaction, and that the employee's satisfaction on their work-environment also can promote the productivity.

Workforce Diversity: A Springboard for Employee Productivity and Customer Experience

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the differential effect of workforce diversity on employee productivity and its subsequent impact on customer experience. Research design, data and methodology: A once-off cross-sectional research design was used in this study where the Zimbabwean civil service was targeted. Randomization was used to collect 324 validated responses. The study focused on both primary (age and gender) and secondary (education and political affiliation) dimensions of workforce diversity. Results: The results were confirmatory that workforce diversity is a significant predictor of employee productivity (β = 0.668, P < 0.05), at the same time employee productivity holds explanation to customer experience by 37%. Results also revealed that gender diversity, educational diversity and political diversity were significant determinants of workforce diversity (P < 0.05). However, the study established that age diversity was not a significant factor in enhancing employee productivity (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The study concluded that workforce diversity is a powerful tool in enhancing both customer experience and employee productivity. As such, the latter can be augmented through shrewd workforce diversity practices as championed by management. To that end, the study recommends the development of a workforce diversity framework which promotes inclusivity.
