Effects of a Neonatal Nursing Practice Program on Students' Stress, Self-efficacy, and Confidence

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a neonatal nursing practice program for nursing students on students' stress, self-efficacy, and confidence. Methods: A 1-group pre- and post- study design was used. The participants consisted of 64 nursing students who were in a pediatric nursing clinical practicum at a nursing college in Seoul from September 2015 to May 2016. The program consisted of 3 stages-orientation, practice, and debriefing-and was conducted for 3 hours during a 2-week period of the pediatric nursing clinical practicum. The dependent variables were neonatal nursing practice stress, self-efficacy, and confidence. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test, the Pearson correlation coefficient, the $x^2$ test, and descriptive statistics with SPSS for Windows version 22.0. Results: The neonatal nursing practice program was effective at decreasing clinical practice-related stress and increasing confidence and self-efficacy regarding neonatal nursing practice. Conclusion: The neonatal nursing practice program may effectively promote the integration of theoretical knowledge and practice. In the future, we propose to develop various educational programs that reinforce basic nursing skills for neonates as part of an effective pediatric nursing clinical practicum.

일지역 종합병원 내원 임부의 태교실천 영향요인 (Factors Affecting the Practice of Taegyo in Pregnant Women Visiting a Regional General Hospital)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed at identifying the factors influencing the practice of taegyo in pregnant women. Methods: A descriptive survey-based study design was used. The study included 210 married pregnant women aged 19 years or higher, excluding pregnant women from multicultural families, who attended the outpatient obstetrics and gynecology departments of a general hospital and a tertiary hospital in C City, from June 29, 2022, to September 8, 2022. Independent t-test, analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were used to determine the factors influencing the practice of taegyo. Results: The mean of the subjects' practice of taegyo was 3.49 ± 0.47. The factors influencing the practice of taegyo among pregnant women were perception of taegyo and spousal support. The higher the perceptions of taegyo and the greater the spousal support, the higher the practice of taegyo. The explanatory power of the regression model was approximately 49.2%. Conclusion: The factors influencing the practice of taegyo among pregnant women were confirmed to be the perception of taegyo followed by spousal support. The findings of the study confirmed that efforts to improve the perception of taegyo and spousal support are necessary to improve the adoption of the practice of taegyo among pregnant women.

상상연습이 노인의 균형 능력과 낙상효능감에 미치는 영향 : 단일대상연구 (Effects of Mental Practice on Balance Ability and Fall Efficacy in Dwelling Elderly Population: Single Subject Design)

  • 목적 : 상상연습(mental practice)이 노인의 균형 능력에 미치는 효과를 규명하고 노인 낙상 예방을 위한 효과적인 중재 방법으로써 적용 가능성에 대해 알아보는 것이었다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 2013년 7월부터 10월 까지 인지에 문제가 없고 낙상에 경험이 있지만 보조 도구 없이 자립보행이 가능한 65세 이상 노인 3명에게 상상연습을 제공하였다. 개별 사례 실험 연구 중 ABA' 설계를 사용하여 기초선 과정 4회기, 중재 과정 5회기, 재 기초선 과정 4회, 총 13회기로 진행되었다. 독립변수는 노인의 균형 능력 및 낙상 효능감 증진을 위해 상상연습을 사용하였고, 종속변수로는 전반적 균형능력의 변화를 알아보기 위해 버그 균형 척도(Berg Blance Scale; BBS), 낙상효능감에 변화를 알아보기 위해 낙상효능감척도(Fall Efficacy Scale: FES), 정적, 동적 균형에 변화를 측정하기 위해 각각 외다리기립검사(One-Leg Standing test; OLS), 일어나 걸어가기 검사(Timed Up & Go test : TUG)를 실시하였다. 결과 분석은 평균값과 시각적 그래프를 통해 제시하였다. 결과 : 상상연습 기법 적용 후 모든 대상자의 낙상효능감이 기초선 과정에서 측정된 수치 보다 증가된 결과를 보였으며 또한 전반적 균형 능력과 정적 동적 균형 능력 또한 증진 또는 유지 되었다. 결론 : 본 연구는 상상연습이 노인의 낙상효능감과 균형능력의 향상과 유지에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났음으로 노인의 낙상 예방 활동으로 상상연습의 적용을 추천한다.

증강현실을 이용한 대학 e-Learning 실습교육 (The E-Learning for Practice Training Using Augmented Reality in the College Education)

  • 미술 디자인계열 학과를 개설한 대학의 이러닝 강의는 실습중심의 전공 교과목조차 대부분 이론중심 강의로 운영되고 있다. 심지어 완전 사이버교육을 제공하는 사이버대학교들 조차 실습과목에 대한 사이버학습 운영에 많은 어려움과 한계점을 토로하면서 이론위주로 운영하고 있는 상황이다. 많은 사이버대학교들이 이러한 실습교육의 한계를 극복하기 위해 특강형식으로 일정기간 오프라인에서의 실습교육을 진행하고 있어 결과적으로 학습에 있어서 시간적 공간적 제약을 갖게 되는 학생들의 중도탈락 비율이 점차 증가되고 있다. 본 연구는 대학의 이러닝 환경에서 실습이 필요한 과목의 효율적인 이러닝 실습환경을 제공하는 것에 목표를 두고 증강현실 기반의 실습교육이 기존 강의실 기반의 실습교육에 비해 어느 정도의 학업성취도를 이루어 내는지 알아보는 실험을 수행하였다. 연구대상은 2년제 일반대학교 디자인학부 1학년 84명을 선정하였으며, 3개 분반으로 나뉘어진 전공실습 수업 중 1개 분반에서 증강현실 기반 이러닝 수업을, 2개 분반에서는 강의실기반 실습수업을 각 7주간 처치하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 결과는 첫째, 이러닝 환경에서 증강현실 기반의 실습수업은 강의실 기반 실습수업보다 학업성취도 면에서 더 효과적이었다. 둘째, 학습 흥미도에 있어서는 증강현실기반의 실습이 수업자체에 대한 흥미를 유발하는 것으로 나타냈다. 셋째, 학습몰입에 있어서 증강현실기반의 실습수업 집단이 더 높은 수준의 몰입을 보였다. 본 연구가 실제 대학교육의 정규과정에서 수행되었다는 점을 고려해 볼 때, 이러한 연구결과는 증강현실기반의 전공 실습교육이 기존의 이론중심 이러닝 강의나 이러닝 환경이지만 별도로 강의실에서 실습을 진행했던 대학들의 수업방식을 보완할 수 있는 대안적 수업방법임을 시사한다.

  • Current codes of practice do not exist in isolation, and rules that have been developed assume certain material properties and minimum workmanship in fabrication and erection. These are either in separate documents or different parts of the code. This paper explains the main requirements for materials and workmanship and how they can be related to design and construction in general. The use of very high strength steels is also considered and the measures that may be needed to allow their use with modern codes are also presented.

  • An optimization algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm(GA) is developed for discrete optimization of reinforced concrete plane frame by constructing databases. Under multiple loading conditions, discrete optimum sets of reinforcements for both negative and positive moments in beams, their dimensions, column reinforcement, and their column dimensions are found. Construction practice is also implemented by linking columns and beams by group ‘Connectivity’between columns located in the same column line is also considered. It is shown that the developed genetic algorithm was able to reach optimum design for reinforced concrete plane frame construction practice.

국내 실내디자인 관련학과 교과과정 현황과 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Issues and Characteristic of Interior Design Curriculums in Korea)

  • In order to discuss identity of Interior Design as an academic study, I analyzed educational objectives and curriculums of Interior Design in tertiary educational institutions. To this end, I surveyed 83 colleges and categorized those colleges based on their school system and academic field where the college is included. First, according to the school system I classified them into 2-, 3-, 4-year course. Then, I categorized each of them into subcategories based on their fields; 2 year course into Design field and Construction Engineering field, 3 year course into Construction, Engineering and Design, 4 year course into Design, Life Science, Engineering and Construction. Referring to a Classified table of majors and fields by KIID, I reorganized them into ten big categories: (1)Design Theory (2)Design Technique (3)Interior Composition Elements (4)Basic Practice (5)Advanced Practice (6)Psychology and Behaviour (7)Design Management (8)History of Interior Design (9)Digital Design (10)Communication. The afore-mentioned ten curriculum categories show characteristics formed by composition in each school system. The curriculum categories in school system had differences in composition depending on each field. By examining similarities and differences among them, I concluded attributes of each field. I hope the result of this study can contribute to consistent study to establish and develop the academic identity of Interior Design.

  • This paper deals with a 'Designeer' education program that has a specific objective of educating design to undergraduate students in mechanical engineering with the aim of enhancing their ability of collaboration with designers when they are going to work in the field after graduation. The entire curriculum of the Designeer education program is introduced first, the end of which two-semester Capstone Design Courses for senior students is offered to let them practice all the knowledge and skills in a project-based learning environment. Learning specific matters such as sketching & visual thinking, prototyping and user experience design is one thing and practicing those knowledge and skills into a Capstone Design project is another. At this point, design thinking process needs to be in place to give students a foresight of one-year journey and to ensure that they will produce a desirable, feasible and viable product at the end of the year when they define the right problem at the beginning. Their frustrations and discoveries while applying design thinking throughout the year is explained by taking an example of a Robot Vacuum Cleaner design project. Finally, we provide real examples of effective methods to practice divergent and convergent phases.
