  • The purpose of this study was to research university students' awareness of gender equality and practice of clothing and textiles education contents(classifying them into four units; choice and dressing of clothes, textile and management of clothes, design and sewing of clothes, and knitting and embroidery) in their real life. This is the investigation of 344 university students living in Choongchungnam bukdo, Junrabukdo, and Daejeon. In this statistical analysis, SPSS 10.0 for Windows Program was utilized to calculate percentage, mean and standard deviation. Also, these data were verified by t-test, One-way Anova, Duncan's multiple range, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of this research were as follows: The more university students have awareness of gender equality, the more they have practice of clothing and textiles education content in their real life. There was a significant difference in practical awareness of contents of clothing and textiles education according to demographic variables and correlation of variables differed significantly. As a conclusion, university students' awareness of gender equality plays an important role in practice of clothing and textiles education contents in their real life. These results would provide fundamental information for improving students' critical practice.

  • Source code quality is very Important that software embedded into product is difficult to change. In order to improve source code quality, it should be considered the quality of analysis and design models as well as the quality of source code. In this paper, we suggest 'Practice Pattern' as one of practical techniques to improve embedded software source code quality. Practice pattern is a procedural pattern to guide modeling and coding activities in software development phases. We believe that applying our pattern provides the improvement of optimum performance, modularization, and portability for embedded software source code.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare frequency and importance of nursing practice in novice nurses and student nurses. Method: A descriptive design was used with convenience sampling of 292 novice nurses in 2 hospitals with 500 beds and 214 student nurses from 4 universities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Results: 1) The total score for frequency of nursing practice was $2.58{\pm}0.41$ and for the importance of nursing practice was $3.03{\pm}0.36$ in novice nurses and in student nurses the frequency score was $2.66{\pm}0.69$ and the total score for importance was $3.24{\pm}0.35$. 2) The total score for frequency was not different between novice and student nurses, but 9 of the top 10 categories in order of frequency were significantly different. 3) The score for importance between novice nurses and student nurses was significantly different with the student nurses having higher scores than the novice nurses. 4) Frequency scores were not different for students in universities compared to students in community colleges. Conclusion: Novice nurses perform skills associated with medication, but student nurses do not and therefore do not recognize the importance of these skills. Education in nursing needs to identify strategies to strengthen practice in this vulnerable area.

  • Purpose: This study was done to compare heat applications by nurses in accordance to belief in evidence-based practice and behavior intention related to research. Methods: A cross-section survey design was used. Participants were 228 nurses from 5 institutions who completed the research questionnaire. Data were collected during July and August 2015. Results: The nurses reported that duration of heat applications was 2.5 minutes to 90 minutes. Frequently used heat application devices, in order of frequency, were rubber bag, gel pack and red clay pack. Most of the nurses (78%) responded that advice from colleagues was the most frequently used basic evidence for heat application. There was a statistically significant difference for the necessity of heat application practice guidelines between the high evidence-based practice belief cluster and the low cluster ($x^2$=15.39, p<.001). Conclusion: There were difficulties in providing consistent nursing interventions because of practical differences and absence of evidence-based guidelines for heat application. The researchers recommend that basic studies with various instruments be conducted and proper practice guidelines developed for heat application.

This study was done to examine of communication skill as mediating effect variable in the relationship between fatigue and stress during clinical practice. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was employed. Research participants were 124 nursing students from G city and J province. Data were collected from December 1, 2016 to January 30, 2017 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Baron and Kenny method. Results: Fatigue had a significant negative correlation with communication skill (r=-.28, p=.001). Fatigue had a significant positive correlation with clinical practice stress (r=.39, p<.001). In addition, communication skill had a mediating effect in the relationship between fatigue and clinical practice stress. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that communication skill plays an important role in reducing clinical practice stress in nursing students. Therefore, in the field of nursing education, a program to improve the communication ability of nursing students should be developed and applied.

This study examined the relationship between critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities in home health advanced practice nurses. Method: The study had a non-experimental correlational design. Data were collected from 100 home health advanced practice nurses in 20 hospitals. Results: The mean critical thinking disposition score was $3.69{\pm}.39$ out of 5 and the mean score for clinical decision-making abilities was $3.48{\pm}.22$ out of 5. In this correlation analysis, a significant positive correlation (r=.58, p<.001) was found between critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities of home health advanced practice nurses. Conclusion: In order to improve the clinical decision-making ability of home health advanced practice nurses, we need to improve their critical thinking disposition. In order to make this change, appropriate training program are needed to increase the critical thinking disposition and clinical decision-making abilities of home health advanced practice nurses.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of individual postpartum breast-feeding education on adaptation, attitude and practice of breast-feeding in primiparas. Methods: A quasi-experimental nonequivalent design was used to examine the effects of individual postpartum breast-feeding education among primiparas. The data were analyzed using $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact test and paired t-test. Results: There was a significant difference in breast-feeding adaptation (t=-12.94, p<.001), breast-feeding attitude (t=-2.71, p=.011) and breast-feeding practice ($x^2$=16.47, p<.001) between the group education (experimental group I) and individual education after group education (experimental group II). Conclusion: The results indicate that individual education on breast-feeding compared to group education has more positive effects on increasing breast-feeding adaptation, attitude and practice in primiparas. This result also indicates that many primiparas should be given opportunities of various types of education to improve breast-feeding practice such as individual approaches and postpartum breast-feeding education programs.
