Systematic Development of Instruction for Family Life Planning of High School Curriculum for Technology and Home Economics Based on Backward Design (백워드 수업설계에 기초한 고등학교 「기술·가정」교과 '가족생활 설계' 영역의 체제적 수업개발)

  • This study devised an instruction that applies the content factors of Family Life Planning to backward design by exploring the fundamental concepts of backward design and the structure of developing a systematic instruction. Furthermore, it was conducted to improve the developed instruction by examining its validity with the help of experts and to find the method of applying it to the curriculum. The lesson design of this study was as follows. 1) Making a unit outline, 2) Identifying the expected results (Shaping the objectives), 3) Deciding acceptable evidence (Planning evaluation), 4) Making a detailed blueprint for class tasks, 5) Planning learning experience, 6) Making a learning experience plan per time, 7) Checking the lesson design. Second, experts participated in this study for the internal validity test about the process of the systematic lesson development of Family Life Design based on a backward design. The results were shown to be valid because the average was 3.7 out of a perfect score 4 and the CVI of all was over 0.9. The result of the IRA was also score 1, meaning that most of the experts agreed on the results of the test. The details of the lesson design were clear at every stage and the tasks and the results of each stage were specific. This study included most of the necessary stages for a backward design.

  • The history of design has been closely related with the development of technology. The digital revolution requires design to be as innovative and inventive as the Industrial Revolution had been. In the current society demanding innovation and a new role for design, a successful result can be obtained in the interrelationship between digital and physical environments. In this point of view, exhibition design as a part of space design has had the method of analogue virtual reality, which induces spectators' experiences by creating a virtual environment, as its main expression means before digital technology was introduced. This method was developed from plane images or models to picture techniques according to the development of media technology. Nowadays, the exhibition method introducing multimedia, which enables interactions, is being developed. The main purpose of this study is to identify the meaning and role of virtual space in the view of space design and to analyze its functional interaction. Through this, it attempts to actively promote organic integration and development of widely used cyber space and traditional space design.

JarBot: Automated Java Libraries Suggestion in JAR Archives Format for a given Software Architecture

  • Software reuse gives the meaning for rapid software development and the quality of the software. Most of the Java components/libraries open-source are available only in Java Archive (JAR) file format. When a software design enters into the development process, the developer needs to select necessary JAR files manually via analyzing the given software architecture and related JAR files. This paper proposes an automated approach, JarBot, to suggest all the necessary JAR files for given software architecture in the development process. All related JAR files will be downloaded from the internet based on the extracted information from the given software architecture (class diagram). Class names, method names, and attribute names will be extracted from the downloaded JAR files and matched with the information extracted from the given software architecture to identify the most relevant JAR files. For the result and evaluation of the proposed system, 05 software design was developed for 05 well-completed software project from GitHub. The proposed system suggested more than 95% of the JAR files among expected JAR files for the given 05 software design. The result indicated that the proposed system is suggesting almost all the necessary JAR files.

  • This research study investigates the cultural significance and meaning of Thai Mudmee, their historical content, and the variety of the Thai Mudmee techniques, including patterns, symbol and colours. The aim has been to develop the traditional pattern and designs of the Thai Mudmee and produce contemporary textile pieces more appropriate for modern lifestyle tastes both in Thailand and Internationally. By reviving the Thai weaving tradition it is also hoped to encourage and maintain the continuous survival of tradition Mudmee, providing new sales opportunities and markets both in Thailand and abroad. Studying various attempts to redevelop traditional crafts in different countries brought to me the idea of how to develop folk crafts, the problems that occur in this area have encouraged me to express how folk crafts could be benefit from the design process. In this thesis I also express my recommendations for other researchers and the Thai government, as well as other people who interested in Mudmee design. The thesis concludes with the possibilities of how to improve the design of the Mudmee fabric and further areas of research.

A Study on the Eroticism Expressed in Fashion in the 1990s (1990년대 의상에 표현된 에로티시즘에 관한 연구)

  • Today, we live in the fastly changing society, rapidly developing scientific civilization and repeatly confusing political culture. Therefore, man persuits the emotional rest in "eros" and sympathizes with eroticism. Such an eroticism represents too much in art and costume all over the world. the purpose of this study is to classify the ex-pressive style of eroticism which is the feature of the costume in the first year of 1990's and to analyze its expression meaning. This study will be a basic data of new design development and help predict the costume in the latter half of the yeat. The method of this study was performed by using the literature related to the eroticism and the study of preceeding researchers. To analyze the costume style the its implied meaning being used to express the eroticism of 1990's, the magazines(Elle, Vogue, WWD, Collections etc) and the literatures related to fashion were used. The styles and meaning of eroticism expressed eroticism by using the minimal design which exposes wholly or partly by using a transparent vinyl and a see-through clothing. The sexy style arose from the expression of social rebellion and the exposure of suppressive sex as a psychological repulsion against the older generation. 2) Deshabille style : This style is the conver-sion to the outer garment of an underwear. The excessive exposure which just concerns the inti-mate parts of the body by using the thin cloth or lace for an underwear. This style can be recognized as the beauty destruction and ugly 3) Glamour style : The style is made up of the high-grade cloth such as silk and velvet and expresses the bodily beauty. This style falls into a rebellious culture and comes from the inten-tional expression to escape the modern life which is straight and hard. 4) metallic style : This style uses variously the new material such as vinyl-coating, enamel and represents the eroticism through the original expressions.pressions.

A Study on the Printed French Textiles in the 18th Century - Focus on the Toile do Jouy (18세기 프랑스의 프린트 직물에 관한 연구 -트왈 드 죠이 디자인을 중심으로-)

  • This study is to review the printed cotton textile industry of Europe in 17th-l8th century, and specially investigate the development of the Toile do Jouy, printed French fabrics around the 18th century. Generally, the Toile de Jouy has two different meanings. The first meaning is the popular printed cotton textiles producted by wood block printing, copper plate printing and roller printing techniques at Jouy on Joas factory in France, around 18th century. The second meaning is the monochromatic upholstery fabrics printed by copper plate. Actually, this monochromatic printed textiles were the most popular printed cotton fabrics with large scale scenic designs with people, trees, birds, buildings, mythical heroes, protagonists of novel and country scenes of shepherds, sheep and other animals manufactured by Jouy on Joas factory. Main issue of this paper is to propose features of pattern, color and classify types of patterns expressed on the Toile de Jouy fabrics according to printing techniques such as wood block printing, copper plate printing and copper roller printing. And this study is also to analyze on origins of the variety of names called the printed cotton textiles in those days. The results of this study can help to understand the knowledge of printed cotton textiles in Europe and be effectively applied to develop printed fabric design in the textile industry.

A Study on Traditional Colors (전통색에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, influence of color has been expanded in various fields including design field. Among human five senses, visual sense is best for information capturing, and 80% of information judgment by visual sense is from color. Color is emotion and image. Hanbok is marked by its beautiful color combinations. The guiding principle of such color chords was Obangsaek, or the traditional Korean five base colors. The method of this study is to consider concepts of Obangsaek derived from the principles of yin-yang and the five elements and is to investigate application of Obangsaek. And the purpose of this study is to understand traditional colors and is to provide judgment criteria on various color combinations based on Korean aesthetic sense for development of textile design. The degree of nation culture depends on the level of research, analysis and application on traditional colors. Obangsaek, Korean traditional color is splendid and primary color. Also, Obangsaek has symbolic and lucky meanings. These colors are still the primary source of coloring. Obangsaek has been reinterpreted by application on textile design, some into base colors and others into diverse shades. So this study will help in the aspect of development on Korean style design.

  • Fashion industry is high value added indust교, whose price is decided by design value so it requires creativity and uniqueness for competition. The purpose of this study is to grasp how the design characteristic of LED that can express new creativity and uniqueness is applied to fashion design and find out the expression characteristic of LED used in fashion design. The study subjects, the design to which LED is applied, were extracted from fashion show and internet search. As a study result, the expression characteristics of LED used for fashion design are as follows. First, for function, tool function that can provide convenience for life and expression function that can provide user with emotional and psychological satisfaction and communication were allowed. Second, for aesthetic changes, many-sided, multiple colors and pattern displays of LED changed design meaning visually and caused aesthetic emotion for observer. Third, for interaction, physical factor of LED, user, dress and environmental factor interacted each other, enabling both-sided communication. Fourth, for amusement, multiple lights of LED activated visual and tactile sense, expressing usefulness and joyfulness on the basis of various display possibilities and changes. The study result will be helpful for developing more unique, creative design according to the change of age and development of science.

A Textile Surface Design for Dementia Patient Hospital Clothing Applying Social Care Symbol (치매환자복을 위한 직물 디자인 개발 및 제작 -사회적 보호를 위한 심볼 활용을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is for development textile design and making fabric actually for dementia patients hospital clothing using symbol which has social care meaning. For achievement the aim, process and research methods were as follows. First the symbol design was developed. Second the symbol was applied as textile design for dementia patients hospital clothing. Symbol design was under processed with a letter 'Alzheimer' and meanings as like 'love', 'happiness' 'care' 'hope' and 12 design samples were developed by CAD and photoshop. Total 15 evaluation members chose 2 design samples. The 2 design sample were practically arrangement 7 textile design pattern with ground different colors. And finally 3 design pattern and 3 colorway were selected and add white ground. Totally 7 textile design was printed on 100% cotton, 20 yarn count, 1/2 twill. Therefore this new textile design for dementia patient's hospital clothing can be used in medical clinically and the symbol can be use for daily care item for the patients more comfort and high quality in their lives in hospital.

  • Recently multimedia has been formed, provided, and shared enough not to compare with the past, due to the proliferation of Internet and the development of hardware relating to multimedia. Accordingly to internationally give a proper expression to metadata of multimedia, the standard of MPEG-7 has been established, and researches for image search among various data of multimedia using MPEG-7 are going on. Thus there are meaning-based search. In the former there is a merit that search speed is fast, but technology and accuracy by technical knowledge on the image. In the latter the accuracy of search is decreasing because of not understanding the meaning about image and the internet of users. In this study to solve these problems a search system has been designed by combining the two methods. Also the search and manage image data by handheld devices such as portable PDA or smart phone, a system. Once this is used, multimedia data can be efficiently searched and utilized by handheld devices.
