CAD 시스템 간의 상호 운용성을 위한 설계 특징형상의 온톨로지 구축 (Building Feature Ontology for CAD System Interoperability)

  • As the networks connect the world, enterprises tend to move manufacturing activities into virtual spaces. Since different applications use different data terminology, it becomes a problem to interoperate, interchange, and manage electronic data among different systems. According to RTI, approximately one billion dollar has been being spent yearly for product data exchange and interoperability. As commercial CAD systems have brought in the concept of design feature for the sake of interoperability, terminologies of design feature need to be harmonized. In order to define design feature terminology for integration, knowledge about feature definitions of different CAD systems should be considered. STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product model data) have attempted to solve this problem, but it defines only syntactic data representation so that semantic data integration is unattainable. In this paper, we utilize the ontology concept to build a data model of design feature which can be a semantic standard of feature definitions of CAD systems. Using feature ontology, we implement an integrated virtual database and a simple system which searches and edits design features in a semantic way. This paper proposes a methodology for integrating modeling features of CAD systems.

  • The application of computers and information technologies progressed with remarkable pace has paved the way for technological innovation toward the efficient integration of various functions in a manufacturing system. Actually it is observed that the greater part of manufacturing companies already initiated significant efforts to integrate information systems and attained the level of integration to some extent. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the strategic direction that manufacturing firms are pursuing through integrating information systems. Using the extensive data gathered from Japanese manufacturers, it is attempted to find the differences in competitive priorities and action programmes between the companies with high and low-level system integration. Our empirical data reveals that the manufacturers with highly integrated system are focusing their competitive capabilities on the rapid design change and new product introduction, and accordingly they place a greater emphasis on the action programmes related to design, process and quality improvement. As a conclusion, highly integrated firms tend to pursue new product development strategy more intensively, thereby they want to be a preemptor in the new market through exploiting technological advantages of integrated manufacturing system.

  • The impact of a new stadium on the urban context and regional development is significant. Especially where several new stadiums are built for single mega events like the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games or the Soccer World Cup the impact is even higher. Objective of this paper is to identify and analyze the key drivers for sustainable integration of stadiums within the existing context. The level of sustainability is analyzed based on four different categories: urban, social, environmental and economics. Particular focus is on the project management strategy for implementation of the key drivers during pre-design, design and execution. In conclusion key elements of the project management strategy for sustainable integration of a stadium within the urban, environmental, social and economic context are summarized.

사출압력 최소화와 웰드라인 방지를 위한 자동차용 사출성형 부품의 최적설계 (Design Optimization of an Automotive Injection Molded Part for Minimizing Injection Pressure and Preventing Weldlines)

  • Injection pressure is an important factor in filling procedure for injection molded parts. In addition, weldlines should be avoided to successfully produce injection molded parts. In this study, we optimally obtained injection molding process parameters that minimize injection pressure. Then, we determined the thickness of the part to avoid weldlines. To solve the optimization problem proposed, we employed MAPS-3D (Mold Analysis and Plastics Solution-3 Dimension), a commercial CAE tool for injection molding analysis, and PIAnO (Process Integration, Automation, and Optimization) as a commercial PIDO (Process Integration and Design Optimization) tool. We integrated MAPS-3D into PIAnO, automated the analysis and design procedure, and performed optimization by employing PQRSM (Progressive Quadratic Response Surface Method) equipped in PIAnO. We successfully obtained optimization results, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our design method.

감각통합이론에 근거한 장애와 비장애를 포용하는 놀이터 환경 구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on setting the Environment of Inclusive Playground Including Disabled Children and Children without Disabilities (including at-risk children) based on J. Ayres' Sensory Integration Theory)

  • This study starts at the at-risk children(the students in the margins)' needs for the inclusive education environment who increased lately. It is studied in the limited scope, which is about spacially 'playground' and 'Sensory integrative therapy' in terms of the special education therapy. The 6 environmental setting principles are suggested, which is redefined in terms of suitable for applying to the environment design based on the training way and arbitration principle of J. Ayres' Sensory integrative therapy. And then various environment design methods are drawn from above-mentioned 6 principles, they are categorized in 4 elements for environmental setting - sensory element, behavior element, mental element and design expression element. This trial brings daily practice of therapeutic stimulate to sensory integration dysfunction children, and sensory experiential diversity promoting development to general children. Expecially it has some advantage that at-risk children(the students in the margins) feel a sense of belonging as a member of society.

KUH 임무탑재시스템의 안전성설계 및 검증 (Safety Design and Validation of Mission Equipment Package for Korean Utility Helicopter)

  • 안전성 요구수준이 서로 다른 비행필수 데이터(Flight Critical Data)와 임무필수 데이터(Mission Critical Data)의 시현을 처리하기 위해 별도의 독립된 계기를 사용하지 않고 Glass Cockpit 설계를 적용하여 데이터를 통합처리하였다. 본 논문에서는 독립적으로 설계 진행되어온 비행조종계통과 임무탑재시스템의 통합설계를 위해 설계변경을 최소화하면서 비행조종계통에서 요구되는 비행필수 데이터처리의 안전성 요구수준을 만족시키는 최적화 설계를 제안하였다. 비행필수 데이터의 시현을 처리하기 위해 KUH 임무탑재시스템의 핵심구성품인 임무컴퓨터(Mission Computer)의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 설계변경을 최소화하였다. 임무탑재시스템의 안전성 요구도(Safety Requirement)를 검증하기 위한 시험절차를 개발하여 임무탑재시스템 통합시험장비(SIL)를 이용한 시험 수행 결과 안전성 요구도가 만족됨을 확인하였다.

Development of Monopropellant Propulsion System for Low Earth Orbit Observation Satellite

  • The currently developed propulsion system(PS) is composed of propellant tank, valves, thrusters, interconnecting line assembly and thermal hardwares to prevent propellant freezing in the space environment. Comprehensive engineering analyses in the structure, thermal, flow and plume fields are performed to evaluate main design parameters and to verify their suitabilities concurrently at the design phase. The integrated PS has undergone a series of acceptance tests to verify workmanship, performance, and functionality prior to spacecraft level integration. After all the processes of assembly, integration and test are completed, the PS is integrated with the satellite bus system successfully. At present, the severe environmental tests have been carried out to evaluate functionality performances of satellite bus system. This paper summarizes an overall development process of monopropellant propulsion system for the attitude and orbit control of LEO(Low Earth Orbit) observation satellite from the design engineering up to the integration and test.

통합화된 자동차 전장 시스템에서의 사용자 편의성 분석 (- Analysis of User′s Convenience on Integrated Automotive Cockpit System -)

  • One of the recent trends of cockpit development is to integrate the part of whole cockpit and compartment. The goal of this study is to develop and Analyze User's Convenience for a cockpit prototype based on the design guide of cockpit integration module. The process of this study has been followed analyzing development trend of next generation Automotive cockpit, extracting the design factor needed to making integration module and laying down the design guide of cockpit integration module. After that process, next-generation Automotive cockpit has been embodied as graphical image designing. Henceforth, applying this module to real will be considered after evaluation of utilization. THis study is indicated that one example for evaluation of utilization.
