  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a technical writing model suitable for engineering students based on the practice of technical writing using the patent application form for engineering students. The Dick & Carey model was used to design the teaching of technical writing using the patent application form. In particular, the instructor communicates with the learner and instructs the learner to produce and express students' own ideas. Instruction design in technical writing progresses consists of four steps, such as creating ideas by brainstorming, comprising contents, exercising writing, and feedback. Feedback occurs between an instructor and a learner and also does among students. As writing is proceeding step by step, instruction design for technical writing should come forth with specific methods to make students practice writing in work. Following these steps will help engineering school students to make up new products after graduating university.

  • Currently, education is being conducted through face-to-face classes and instructional design using blended learning, an integrated online and offline model that utilizes online characteristics. As the paradigm of education has changed from face-to-face classes to non-face-to-face classes since COVID-19, teaching methods to respond to changes are required in the educational field. In this paper, as a instructional design model using online, we proposed a instructional design model that conducts online classes in non-real time and then conducts online face-to-face classes using virtual classrooms in real time. In addition, a teaching strategy that can apply the online face-to-face teaching design model using the proposed virtual class room to software classes was presented. The proposed instructional design model will be able to prepare for a paradigm shift in education with a teaching design that can accommodate the characteristics of face-to-face education online.

Therefore, university education focuses on solving the problem of practical ability education by improving employment ability. Based on this improvement in practical skills, this study is based on the field-based design curriculum of Capstone. Currently, the Capstone Design Course is being implemented at most universities, extending its scope to the fields of engineering, humanities, social studies and arts. However, there is a limit to the core concept of Capstone design education and capacity education developed in line with the foreign educational environment and applied directly to our nation's university education. In terms of overseas cases, the core focus is to develop practical, design, and prototype capabilities by forming a team among all grades and multidisciplinary institutions to support the capital and manpower of the industry. However, the nation's industrial linkage and curriculum have difficulties in carrying out multi-disciplinary education. In this study, students were asked to team up and solve the challenges that the industry needs based on the expertise acquired in the lower grade curriculum by applying majors and 3D printing through the first and second semester courses of the fourth grade to address these limitations. In addition, business skills for the process of creativity and leadership experience in our country through a suitable design capstone class to review the efficiency of education by applying a model. In order to achieve the purpose of Capstone design subject, the goal setting, class model composition, class model application, verification and evaluation, and final class model development procedures were carried out. Through this process, it will be used as a basic material for educating design class capstone design.

  • In order to improve the SW convergence capabilities of university undergraduate students, methods to evaluate undergraduate students' code design capabilities should be researched along with the development of related courses. In previous studies, there were qualitative evaluation methods and quantitative relative evaluation methods for code results. In the quantitative relative evaluation method, the number of problem decomposition depth, number of function reuses, and number of functions were measured and evaluated. In this study, an evaluation method that was not presented in previous studies was proposed using the problem of presenting the number of input and output information types when designing code. The evaluation problems proposed in this paper applied up to three types of input information and three types of output information. Through this, five code design evaluation questions were presented and a method to quantitatively calculate code design scores was proposed. Codes from 100 student respondents were collected and analyzed through courses that applied the proposed evaluation method. Through result analysis, the number of problem decomposition depths was proportional to the number of types of input information, the number of function reuses was proportional to the number of types of output information, and the number of functions showed a correlation that was proportional to the total number of types of input and output information. Lastly, by analyzing the distribution of evaluation scores of 100 respondents, we demonstrated that the code design evaluation method according to the five input/output information condition evaluation problems is effective.
