Zinc finger proteins are among the most extensively applied metalloproteins in the field of biotechnology owing to their unique structural and functional aspects as transcriptional and translational regulators. The classical zinc fingers are the largest family of zinc proteins and they provide critical roles in physiological systems from prokaryotes to eukaryotes. Two cysteine and two histidine residues ($Cys_2His_2$) coordinate to the zinc ion for the structural functions to generate a ${\beta}{\beta}{\alpha}$ fold, and this secondary structure supports specific interactions with their binding partners, including DNA, RNA, lipids, proteins, and small molecules. In this account, the structural similarity and differences of well-known $Cys_2His_2$-type zinc fingers such as zinc interaction factor 268 (ZIF268), transcription factor IIIA (TFIIIA), GAGA, and Ros will be explained. These proteins perform their specific roles in species from archaea to eukaryotes and they show significant structural similarity; however, their aligned amino acids present low sequence homology. These zinc finger proteins have different numbers of domains for their structural roles to maintain biological progress through transcriptional regulations from exogenous stresses. The superimposed structures of these finger domains provide interesting details when these fingers are applied to specific gene binding and editing. The structural information in this study will aid in the selection of unique types of zinc finger applications in vivo and in vitro approaches, because biophysical backgrounds including complex structures and binding affinities aid in the protein design area.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between quality of life (QoL) of the caregiver and disease severity with motor function in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Research data were collected in the Rehabilitation Clinic of Daegu University. The Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88) and the functional independence measure (FIM) were used for assessment by three occupational therapists, and the 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) were applied to the caregivers. One hundred six caregivers of under 18 years who were diagnosed with CP completed a survey and interview. The caregivers' QoL was evaluated using Medical Outcomes Study SF-36. The children's motor function was scored using GMFM-88 in five dimensions: lying and rolling; sitting; crawling and kneeling; standing and walking, running and jumping and CP's FIM scores. Results: Out of the 8 domains of the Medical Outcomes Study SF-36, the "physical functioning", "physical role functioning", "mental health", and "bodily pain" domains were significantly correlated to "total" percentage scores of the GMFM-88 (p<0.05). In addition, the "mental health" domain was correlated to each subdomain of the GMFM-88, which includes, "lying and rolling", and "crawling and kneeling". Similarly, of Medical Outcomes Study SF-36, "physical functioning", "bodily pain", and "mental health" domains were significantly correlated with "transfer" and "locomotion" of FIM scores (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study showed that the QoL of the caregivers were well correlated with the motor function of children with CP. It is also important to support not only physical health but also psychological health of caregivers of children with CP, especially those with severe motor function.
It has been constantly demanding for effective way to improve software development productivity and automation. In this paper, we did research to configure the component assets to reuse design information from the design phase domains based on the DMI. It is necessary abstracted information architecture of an independent platform development environment to reuse design information on the design stage. Also, It should be based on a well-designed to support the design architecture of the application domain. Therefore, in this paper, I want to use the DMI architecture that can be represented by formal level of architectural design information platform and application domain area. It is able to decomposition architecture asset with the part design information from the design phase composition or a high level of abstraction on DMI. Therefore, the metadata structure of the asset architecture will support a structure which can reuse the structure-based design of the domain areas.
The AEC industry is highly interested in effective ICT adoption and deployment, including its utilization within the design process. However, its capabilities have not yet been fully exploited and it is an obvious area for further research. Architects and engineers tend to have some technological support to monitor and evaluate the possible impacts of decisions made throughout the design process. Many aspects are left out of consideration and the entire project is broken up into independent fragments or domains that are combined together at a later, post hoc stage. Impact of separate decisions on each others have to be interpreted on a person-to-person basis between the involved design stakeholders. This paper attempts to evaluate current design practice and associated challenges towards design integration with advanced technologies, such as BIM, by conducting an online survey targeted at designers and engineers, who are most affected by its emerging issues. The outcomes of this study are presented and analysed, concluding that the current design process fails to meet expectations and needs improvements. It goes further to propose the requirements for an integrated system as a means for an effective solution for the identified problem.
In this paper, a new class of bandpass filter using a modified Chebyshev lowpass filter function is described. The prosposed bandpass filter which exhibits diminishing ripples in the passband has maximum value at the center frequency. Due to the lower pole-Q, the performance in the frequency and time domains is improved as compared with the classical Chebyshev bandpass filter.
This paper provides a framework for evaluating business information systems. The framework identifies three evaluation domains: IS business value, IS expenses, and IS functionality. Discussions of each category encompass what to be measured, how to measure, and how to judge the measured value. Then, the framework classifies three categories of individual information systems based on IS life cycle: industry-common, industry-similar, and firm-specific. This categorization is used to match the role of an individual system with the focus of evaluation efforts. The framework can contribute to the systematic design of evaluation programs for business information systems.
The CC-NUMA based, distributed shared memory is an emerging architecture for multiprocessor computer systems because of its scalability and easy of programming. In this paper, we analyzed performance of a ring-based, CC-NUMA multiprocessor computer system using a commercial workload targeted for popular OLTP applications. Based on the traces collected from real machines, the characteristics of the commercial workload could be obtained. The simulation results showed that the bottleneck on the ring could be effectively removed by using a dual ring structure. We believe our simulation methodology and results will help us to design better multiprocessor computer systems for commercial application domains.

It is critical to select an appropriate technology valuation method when the characteristics of a technology and valuation environment are variable. To ensure high quality decision making when selecting a technology valuation method, it is necessary to understand the principles of a good technology valuation method, and define and apply a decision making theory for selecting an optimal method. The authors propose that Axiomatic Design Principles can be applied as a decision making theory. In order to apply Axiomatic Design for this problem, this paper describes four domains(customer, functional, physical, and process domain) and four axioms(independence, information, cost, time axiom) for the decision making process for the optimal technology valuation method. The result of this study will contribute flexibility to the dynamic technology valuation process.

On face milling operation a new optimal cutter, which can minimize the resultant cutting forces, was designed from the cutting force model. Cutting experiments were carried out and the cutting forces of the new and conventional cutters were analyed in time and frequency domains. The resultant cutting forces were used as the objective function and cutter angles as the variables. A new optimal cutter design model which can minimize the resultant cutting forces under the constraints of variables was developed and its usefulness was proven. The cutting forces in feed direction of the newly designed cutter are reduced in comparison with those from the conventional cutter. The magnitudes of an insert frequency component of cutting force from the newly designed cutter are reduced than those from conventional cutter and the fluctuations of cutting force are also reduced.

Recently, the importance of vibration reduction at the local structure such as tank, deck which attached machinery and compass deck, has continuously increased by owner and shipbuilder. Because crews are afflicted with them and severe vibration problems affect on the crack of structure. This study conducted optimum design to get a stiffener size of local structure to reducing the vibration level and dec leasing the weight of structure in ship. Random tabu search method (R-Tabu) has fast converging time and can search variables size domains for nonlinear problems. This paper used Nastran external call type independence optimization method which makes using a solver module from Nastran.
