  • Materials used for a reactor pressure vessel(RPV) are required high strength and toughness, which determine the safety margin and life of a reactor. Ni-Mo-Cr low alloy steel shows better mechanical properties than existing RPV steels due to higher Ni and Cr contents compared to the existing RPV steels. The present study focuses on effects of Ni, Cr contents on the cleavage fracture toughness of Ni-Mo-Cr low alloy steels in the transition temperature region. The fracture toughness was characterized by a 3-point bend test of precracked Charpy V-notch(PCVN) specimens based on ASTM E1921-08. The test results indicated that the fracture toughness was considerably improved with an increase of Ni and Cr contents. Especially, control of Cr content was more effective in improving fracture toughness than manipulating Ni content, though Charpy impact toughness was changed more extensively by adjusting Ni content. These differences between changes in the fracture toughness and that in the impact toughness were derived from microstructural features, such as martensite lath size and carbide precipitation behavior.

  • Data science is a scientific discipline that defines problems while finding meaningful information from collected data to solve problems. Along with artificial intelligence technology, the field of data utilization is gradually expanding, and awareness of the importance of data science education is also increasing. Despite the rapid growth of the domestic data industry market, it has recently been predicted that the shortfall of data experts will reach 31.4% within the next 5 years according to an analysis of the current status of the data industry by the Korea Data Agency. In the field of elementary education, various studies have been conducted to introduce data science in order to improve students' computational thinking and creativity. This paper proposed the contents of data science lectures developed for the purpose of educating elementary school teachers, who are mostly non-majors in the computer field. The developed contents were applied to a group of elementary school teachers attending graduate school for artificial intelligence convergence education. Points for improvement were derived by identifying the contents that were difficult for learners to understand and analyzing the causes of difficulty.

  • Dianthus superbus (D. superbus) is a traditional crude drug used for the treatment of urethritis, carbuncles and carcinomas. The objective of this study was to confirm the cognitive enhancing effect of D. superbus in memory impairment induced mice and to elucidate the possible potential mechanism. Effect of D. superbus on scopolamine induced memory impairment on mice was evaluated using the Morris water maze and passive avoidance tests. We also investigated acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and brain-derived neurotropic factor (BDNF) expression in scopolamine-induced mice. HPLC-DAD analysis was performed to identify active compounds in D. superbus. The results revealed that D. superbus attenuated the learning and memory impairment induced by scopolamine. D. superbus also inhibited AChE levels in the hippocampi of the scopolamine-injected mice. Moreover, D. superbus increased BDNF expression in the hippocampus. Eight compounds were identified using HPLC-DAD analysis. The content of 4-hydroxyphenyl acetic acid was higher than contents of other compounds. These results indicated that D. superbus improved memory functioning accompanied by inhibition of AChE and upregulation of BDNF, suggesting that D. superbus may be a useful therapeutic agent for the prevention or treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

  • Fiber dimensions, their derived values and chemical properties of cotton stalks (Gosypium hirsutum L), jute stick (Corchorus capsularis) and dhancha (Sesbania aculeate) have been examined to assess their suitability for paper production. Cotton stalks have a good derived values especially slender ratio, which is comparable to hardwood. The flexibility coefficient of these three non wood plants is better than hardwood. Anatomical analysis shows higher percentage of fibers and vessels than in general non wood plants. Lignin, $\alpha$-cellulose and pentosan contents in these three nonwood plants are within the range of hardwood. Neutral sugar analysis of cotton stalks, jute stick and dhancha shows that the glucose in the major sugar followed by xylose and mannose. The arabinose and galactose are present in minor amount. Alkaline nitrobenzene oxidation of cotton stalks, jute stick and dhancha wood meal exhibits that these nonwood plant lignins mainly consist of syringyl (S) and guaiacyl (V) units. The S/V ratios are 1.6, 1.2 and 2.1 for cotton stalks, jute stick and dhancha, respectively.

  • One of the fundamental roles of web object navigation is to support what the user wants precisely and efficiently from the enormous web database to the web browser. As long as the web search results are a set of individual lists, it is all right to display each and every web result for the web browser to display a web object one by one. However, in case the search results are a collection of multiple interrelated web objects, then there is a need to represent for a new mechanism for linked web objects at a time. We define a unit of web objects derived from a Steiner tree where the web objects include a set of specific keywords calculated by the weight from which the solutions are extracted. Even if a web object does not include all the keywords, then the related hypertext linked web objects are derived and displayed onto the mobile web browser with meta data in one shot. In this paper, it is applied for the mobile browser that the web contents can dynamically be displayed with Steiner trees until each renewal of the navigation request may be issued. In this paper, a new synchronized mobile browsing method is developed so that the navigating time can drastically be reduced and the web navigating efficiency can be dramatically enhanced without sacrificing memory consumption.
