Purpose: To evaluate blue light hazards of LED lightings in an optical store with blue light radiance used as the quantitative indicators of photobiological hazard. Methods: The spectral radiance of each LED lightings was measured, and blue-light radiance and the corresponding maximum exposure time were calculated. Then each LED lighting was classified according to the risk group from IEC 62471 standard. Results: The yellow LED lightings used in showcases and white LED lightings used on ceilings and logo were classified into risk group RG0. But the white LED lightings used on showcases were classified into risk group RG1. The blue light radiances of white LED lightings used in showcases are dozens of times larger than that of fluorescent lamp. Conclusions: Using the value of the blue light radiance could quantitatively express the blue light hazard to various lightings. It was confirmed that white LED lightings for the showcases had high blue light hazards because of their high luminance and color temperature. Therefore, when replacing lightings in optical shop it is necessary to select the appropriate brightness and color temperature for eye health in the long term.

Recently, digital health care technology is spreading and developing in various fields. Therefore, in this paper, we realized that the field to which digital healthcare technology is not applied is the field of optometry, and implemented a digital healthcare optometry system for precise lens manufacturing. A device called Phoroptor is used to manufacture the lens, and this device sets the lens by measuring the visual acuity of the person who requested the glasses. And when the person to be measured wears glasses, a device called a PD meter is used to align the pupil center and lens focus. However, there is a limit to the convenience of precise lens production and optometry due to the absence of a database and program that can accumulate and analyze the PD measurement error, inconvenience and error due to manual control of the Phoroptor, and optometric information. Therefore, in this paper, PD meter design for more accurate PD measurement, Phoroptor design and Phoroptor control application design for automatic Phoroptor control, and a database and analysis program that automatically set lenses using optometry information for each subject had been designed. Based on this, ultimately, a digital healthcare optometry system using an optometry database has been implemented.

Purpose: The present study was conducted to investigate whether the directions of eye movement in playing computer games for certain period affected the change of near point of convergence (NPC) and fusional reserve (FR) or not. Methods: Total 40 subjects in 20s who have the visual acuity of 1.0 or higher without any ocular disease and accommodative dysfunction were asked to successively play computer games. After the subjects were moving eyes in horizontal and vertical directions for 40 and 90 minutes, their horizontal fusional reserves, vertical fusional vergence and near point of convergence were measured. Results: The near point of convergence showed a tendency to be receded after computer gaming in the horizontal and vertical directions, and both of horizontal and vertical fusional reserves were significantly reduced. The range of declined fusional reserves and receded near point of convergence after computer gaming for 90 minutes was smaller than those after computer gaming for 40 minutes. The change of binocular vision was affected by the horizontal eye movement rather than the vertical movement when analyzed by the direction of eye movement. Conclusions: This study revealed that the change in FR and NPC was different along with dominant direction of eye movement during visual display terminal (VDT) tasks. Therefore, the adjustment of VDT working time is required to prevent the dysfunction of binocular vision according to the dominant direction of eye movement during VDT task.

Purpose: It was investigated whether two different stabilization designs of toric contact lenses changed the rotational axis and degree of toric lenses according to body posture and gaze direction in the present study. Methods: Toric soft contact lenses with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design and ASD design (accelerated stabilized design) were fitted on 52 eyes aged in 20s-30s. Then, rotational degree was measured at the five gaze directions including front gaze and the lying position. Results: When gazing the front and vertical directions in the upright posture, lens was much rotated to nasal side for the Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design and temporal side for the ASD design. When gazing horizontal direction, both design lenses were rotated against to the gaze direction. Rotation degree was the smallest at superior direction gaze and the largest at nasal gaze. In case of the rotation degree less than $5^{\circ}$, Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design was more frequent when gazing front and vertical directions, and ASD design was more frequent when gazing horizontal direction. In addition, the lens with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design was lesser rotation degree than with ASD design immediately after lying. On the other hand, the lens with ASD design was lesser rotation degree than with Lo-Torque$^{TM}$ design 1 minute later after lying. Conclusions: This study confirmed that axis rotation of the lens induced by gaze direction and posture was different according to axis stabilization design during wearing toric soft contact lens.
Purpose: To determine whether the distance between objects and the size of object are factors to be able to affect dynamic stereoacuity. Methods: Subjects were 37 adults (26 males and 11 females) with an average age of $23.89{\pm}1.76$. Refractive error was fully corrected for all subjects and each visual acuity of them was over 0.9. Three rods test was performed for measurement of stereoacuity. The viewing angles from left rod to right rod were set $5^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, and $15^{\circ}$ and the rod thickness used 7 mm, 14 mm, and 21 mm, respectively. Stereoacuity was repeatedly measured three times in each test condition at 2.5 m distance, and reported the average value of them. Results: When rod thickness was 7 mm or 14 mm, dynamic stereoacuity decreased as the viewing angle increased, and they were significantly decreased (p<0.01) at viewing angles of $10^{\circ}$ and $15^{\circ}$ as compared with that of at $5^{\circ}$, respectively. When rod thickness was 21 mm, dynamic stereoacuity decreased as the viewing angle increased, especially, that of at $15^{\circ}$ decreased significantly (p<0.01) as compared with that of at $5^{\circ}$. The dynamic stereoacuity depending on the rod thickness have an increasing tendency as the rod thickness increased. Conclusions: The viewing angle between objects and the size of viewing object were factors that affect to dynamic stereoacuity.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to measure and evaluate changes of visual responses in viewing a 2D and 3D (three-dimensional) image. Methods: The subjects were 44 college students aged 19 to 25 years with normal binocular vision. The visual responses measured were CA/C (convergence accommodation/convergence) ratio, convergence-induced PD(interpupillary distance), accommodative responses, perceived distance in viewing a 3D image. Results: Convergence and accommodative responses in viewing the 3D image were significantly larger (p<0.05) than in 2D. A moderate positive correction was found between CA/C ratio and accommodative response (r = 0.477, p = 0.001). It was indicated that smaller PD had larger depth perception. Convergence in viewing the 3D image was significantly larger (p<0.05) than that at cognitive distance. Conclusions: The visual fatigue may be more intense in larger CA/C ratio and smaller PD when viewing 3D images.

Purpose: To investigate the changes of corrective values of astigmatism caused by the position of circle of least confusion on retina in refining astigmatic test using cross cylinder. Methods: 62 subjects (115 eyes) aged $22.24{\pm}2.48$ years participated for this study. After astigmatic test using a radial chart, refining test was performed using a cross cylinder in a condition of maximum plus to maximum visual acuity (MPMVA). Astigmatic refining test was repeatedly performed in each condition of which S+0.75 D, S+0.50 D, S+0.25 D, S-0.25 D, S-0.50 D, and S-0.75 D are added to spherical lenses of MPMVA. The measured values were compared with the values in MPMVA condition. Results: As compared with values in condition of MPMVA, change of astigmatic axis was increased with add the power of (+) spherical lenses and (-) spherical lenses. In same spherical condition, change of astigmatic axis was decreased with increment of astigmatic power (p<0.05). The corrective power of astigmatism was reduced with increment of (+) spherical lenses (p<0.05), and was raised with increment of (-) spherical lenses compared with the power in MPMVA condition. In case of adding (+) spherical lenses, difference of astigmatic power increased with increment of corrective astigmatism power in same test condition. Conclusions: In order to obtain a proper values for corrective astigmatism, position of circle of least confusion should be accurately adjusted before the performing an astigmatism's refining test.

Purpose: The present study was conducted to investigate the axial rotations of toric soft lens during the change of lens wearer's posture, and the relationship between its rotation and corneal astigmatism. Methods: The amount, direction, and speed of toric soft contact lens rotation were measured for 42 eyes (aged 20s) with the rule astigmatism in the straight and lying postures, and it compared between their changes according to corneal astigmatism. Results: There was no significant difference in the axial rotation of lens for the astigmatism prescription between the straight and lying postures. However, the rotation angle was significantly different according to the posture of lens wearer. Rotating directions in straight posture were nasal direction for 20 eyes and temporal direction for 22 eyes. In lying posture, lenses of most wearers were rotated to a direction of lying posture, and the initial rotating speed was very fast in initial wearing for -0.75 D toric lenses, but consistency for -1.25 D toric lenses. The rotation angle in lying posture showed significantly different according to the amount of corneal astigmatism, the lens speed was also significantly different according to the wearing time but not the amount of corneal astigmatism. Conclusions: The axial rotation of toric soft lens was different by the lens wearer's posture and its amount was the greater with the higher degree of corneal astigmatism. Thus, these factors should be considered for the development of toric lens design.
