Purpose: The goal of this study is to investigate the correlation of orthodontic treatment with self-esteem and how orthodontic treatment has an effect on university student's self-esteems by investigating and analyzing the difference in self-esteem of each general characteristic and the difference in self-esteem according to the existence or nonexistence of malocclusion and orthodontic treatment for adult university students. Methods: This study conduced a survey for 420 university students including dental related department, department of health and department of non-dental health in two universities located in Taegu, Gyeongbuk-do province from May 15, 2012 to May 30, 2012, and in 420 questionnaires of the investigated 420 target students, total 400(95.2%) questionnaires except for the questionnaires with falsely or erroneous responses were used for study analysis. Results: In the relations of general characteristic with self-esteem, for self-esteem by each gender, male student showed higher, for self-esteem by residential area, the university student residing at metropolitan area showed higher, for self-esteem by financial status, high class and middle class students in home financial status showed higher, for self-esteem by face shape, the student with triangular face shape showed higher, and in the relation of self-esteem with orthodontic treatment, the university student who is getting orthodontic treatment showed higher self-esteem statistically significantly. Conclusion: For gender, male university student, for residential area, the university student residing at metropolitan area, the high class university student in financial status, the university student with triangular face shape, and the university student who is getting orthodontic treatment showed statistically significantly higher self-esteem.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects that Flipped Learning Method has on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction, and determine its effectiveness as a new pedagogical approach. Methods: The survey was conducted on dental technology students. The collected data was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS 21.0. The results were analyzed by reliability, frequency, t-test. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 has been decided as a standard. Results: According to the analysis, the student who attended a class that utilized Flipped Learning Method was found to have higher levels of self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction than a student who attended a class that did not utilize such a method. Conclusion: The study results show that, in order to enhance students' self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction and to improve the quality of class instruction, it may be necessary that Flipped Learning Method be adopted more widely and recommended more strongly. Such changes will promote a long term improvement in educational environments and play a major role in strengthening students' abilities.
Purpose: The career education of the college student needs a new awareness. This research provides fundamental data from analyzing necessities of student's career education according to plans of a career education. Methods: Make use of SAS 8.0 of windows and descriptive statistics analysis on investigate Dental Technology 570 students in Daegu. And also it analyzes difference of ispectable t-test and ANOVA. Results: According to a gender, a job experience, where they are come from, there is a meaningful difference of an information and an entrance motive for choosing a major (<.05). The time of choosing the major are different meaningfully (<.001). An awareness about the method of a career achievement is a meaningful difference between men and women(<.05). As getting old, the method of a career achievement is higher and there are meaningful differences according to a grade, job experience and a entrance screening(<.01). In accordance with a gender, a grade, entrance screening, there are meaningful differences of a degree for obtaining the career information activities(<.01). In accordance with an age, when they choose a major, there is a difference(<.001). In accordance with a gender and a age, there are meaningful differences of a career plan(<.001). The age difference is slight. In accordance with a gender and a age, there are meaningful differences how to effort for the career(<.001), and also according to an entrance screening, an entrance motive(<.05). These mean that the first priority for choosing the career and going into the world is a school record. There are meaningful differences of people that the student choose for consulting the career(<.01). According to the job experience there are meaningful differences(<.001). Conclusion: By investigating and analysing the student's career plan, we need to seek how students choose their career reasonably and desirably. And also we need to teach a career education systematically.
Purpose: The work of Dental technician which is part of national dental health, is more specialized recently. This research provides fundamental data from analyzing student's career consciousness according to needs of a career education. Here is the conclusion of the analysis about student's career consciousness, that is for a right choice of career. Methods: This study did questionnaire to a dental Laboratory Technology student who locate in Taegu. Question response student number was 570 people. Response contents analyzed to 506 people except imperfect questionnaire. Data used windows sas 8.0 program and did descriptive statistical analysis. Results: There is a meaningful difference in what they want to know about an occupation according to ages. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) All ages are similar to their occupational thinking, however they who are under twenties consider working environment. The older they grow, the more they know about their aptitude. Selecting subjects are different choosing time & motive. Surveying perception of majors to students of Department of dental technology 433(48.3%) and Department of dental hygiene 463(51.7%), and their sex rates 272 (30.4%) for males and 624 (69.6%) for females, 896 examines in total, have let us to know the level of student's perception of their majors and now able to adjust the level of major's lectures and maximize the ability to study has brought these conclusions. 1. Although the hometowns of students had similar rates between large and small cities disregarding their departments, the type of highschool had differences for the academic highschool graduators were the most. Also, CSAT was the highest than other specialized types when entering. 2. Self selection considering employment percentage was the highest for the student's choice of selecting department of dental hygiene and dental technology. 3. For the satisfaction of school and education systems, "satisfied" and "normal" were as high as 74% in both department of dental hygiene and dental technology for school satisfaction, and 75%, 74% for satisfaction of environment from the two departments. 4. As for the satisfaction of department and environment, department of dental hygiene and dental technology both answered "satisfied" and "normal" the most, but in satisfaction of companions, they have shown relatively high satisfaction by answering "very satisfied" and "satisfied". 5. Difficulties of majors relating to the perception of learning, department of dental technology and dental hygiene both answered too much to memorize and hard to understand. 6. Department of dental technology's try for majors relating to the level of perception of learning have shown that they have high understandings in proportion to how much they try but for department of dental hygiene has shown not much differences. 7. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for the development of appropriate training courses for a rapidly changing digital technology in the field of Dental technology. Methods: The subjects of this study were dental technicians, dental technology students, a professor of dental technology in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area and a self-administered structured questionnaire survey was conducted for 350 randomly selected people. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 17.0 statistics program and analysis techniques include the frequency, percentage and cross-analysis. Results: The results of the survey are as follows. The usefulness of Major subjects was Full Denture laboratory (4.72 points), Dental Morphology (4.71 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the instructor's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.56 points), Full Denture (4.36 points), Crown and Bridge laboratory (4.69 points) in the student's group. The usefulness of Major subjects was Dental Morphology (4.58 points), Dental Morphology laboratory (4.34 points), Partial Denture laboratory (4.30 points) in the dental technician's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 91.2% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the instructor's group. Subject with the highest usefulness of required course to open was CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory, the highest proportion of 90.0% and Implant laboratory was very useful (91.2%) in the student's group. Conclusion: Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (85.1%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 94.1% in the instructor's group. 87.0% of students need to open CAD/CAM lacture and laboratory in the third year first semester, Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 85.0% in the student's group. Semester of the subjects was required establishment of CAD/CAM lecture and laboratory in the third year first semester (81.0%) and Implant laboratory in the third year second semester the third year was the highest proportion of 80.0% in the dental technician's group.
An aim of this study is to find out influenced factors of satisfaction degree on the clinical practice for the dental technology student and it can be provided the basic necessary data for the educational planning of the curriculum for the clinical practice. The target of study are selected form 7 junior health college students and colleges are located in around seoul form 14 junior health college throughout the nation. The questionnaries were distributed between 24th Feb to 30th July in 1997 to the 100 dental technicians who finished clinical practice and entered profession in 1997. All collected data were analysed by using SPSS/PC, Technical Statistic, One-Way ANOVA, Ttest, Person Correnlation Coefficient, Chrobach Alpha Coefficient and the result of the study is follow. 1) The satisfaction degree were classificated as 7 aspect and overall average score was 3.042. During that period satisfaction of personal relation aspect(M=3.737) shows highest level. Satsfiaction of clinical parctice(M=3.571) shows as second, Satisfiaction of environment(M=3.028), Satisfaction of guidance(M=2.915), satisfaction of subject are ordered of their scores. According to above study satisfaction's degree of subject show lowest level. 2) According to the result of verification of study. general character of student and satisfiaction degree has not much relation with sex, location of college, religion, period for enrolling college, teaching method of clinical practice. But the result show similar relation with following items. Satisfaction if subject and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000), place of clinical practice and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.002), Academic record of college and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000). 3) The relation of satisfaction(Subject, method of teaching, environment, period, rating, personal relation) of clinical practice and age of investigation's target Older student show higher satisfaction(P=0.040). Also method of teaching, environments, period, rating, personal relation has similarities with satisfaction. Therefore student who has higher satisfaction of clinical practice they also have higher rate for subject, environment, period, personal relation. 4) The result fo investigation, most interesting subject was crown & bridge and most difficult factor was too many simple-works to the student. One of ideal factor was discussing with counselor before they choose place for clinical practice. Third grade and first semester is most efficient time for clinical practice and 8 week is proper period for clinical practice. Clinical practice is absilutory mecessary and we find out most student rated positively. However we need more specific study about satisfcation of each subject. Because it shows lowest level and we need more pay attention for planning of clinical practice.
본 연구는 일부 치위생(학)과 학생의 노인에 대한 부양의식이 공감력에 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 한다. 연구 방법은 광주광역시에 위치한 대학의 치위생(학)과 학생 193명을 대상으로 하였고, 자료 분석은 빈도분석, t-test, ANOVA, 피어슨 상관계수, 다중회귀분석을 IBM SPSS STATICS 20.0을 이용하였다. 연구 결과 노인에 대한 부양의식과 공감력은 양의 상관관계가 있었고, 공감력에 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 노인문제 대한 관심도와 부양의식이 높을수록 공감력이 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 치위생(학)과 학생들에게 노인 관련 교과목 개설 및 체계적인 교육 프로그램 구축이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
This study executed to offer the basis for dental technology student who chanced better clinical training. This investigation conducted on 267 of seniors who have been taken clinical training to self written a questionnaire. We used and dealt a spss 12.0 program. Study results below 1. In a question about relationship, one answered "Harmonious" took largest proportion by 40.9% during training, and about the degree of satisfaction of campus life who answered :normal: were the most with 50.0% 2. In a question about clinical training place, most(50.0%) choose place less than 10 for clinical training, and more than 10 for clinical training with 29.7%. Residue statues was most of them resided own home with 78.6%. About their commuting time from home to training place, 50.0% was under 30min, 34.1% took time 30$\sim$60min. 3. In a question about clinical trainer, most (34.4%) choose as dental lab president, as each part manager with 34.1%, a senior with 7.6% and not exist to clinical trainer with 7.6%. 4. A perfect score about teaching efficiency and satisfaction of clinical practice of dental technology students was 5. The average of score about satisfaction of clinical practice was 3.25 and circumstance of clinical training got 3.50 as a highest score. the lowest score was 2.87 that is about satisfaction of clinical training period. The average of score of teaching efficiency was 3.25. 'a Role model' got 3.55 as the highest score and 'utility for student' got 3.12 as the lowest 3.12. 5. The result of T-test to see of the satisfaction according to the general character and clinic training condition between teaching efficiency is that the degree of satisfaction of clinical training showed statistical significance only in the degree of satisfaction of college life(p<0.05), teaching efficiency has a statistical significance with age and satisfaction of college life(p<0.05). 6. The relation between of teaching efficiency of clinical training and satisfaction of clinical training of dental technologic student has a statistical relation r=0.551 and a statistical meaning in significance leveler 0.01.
This is a study of view of college life on 1002 students in the dept. of the dental laboratory technology of 8 colleges in the country. Made a question survey on conclusion of college life, such as purpose of entering college and satisfaction, college life and sense of values and relationship to professors and analysed it through statistics. 1. Purpose of entering college and satisfaction of college. Most students motive to enter college was a preparatory step for future job as 73.3% of reponse rate. The dissatisfaction of college after entering was 42.5%, students of the metropolitan area showed 47.1%(p<.01) of response rate and college woman showed 48.2%(p<.05) of response rate. As for the datils of dissatisfaction of college than expected, the absence of romanticism and academic atmosphere was 38.1% and poor practice(facilities) was 32.4%. the students of the metropolitan area showed rater high rate(p<0.1) and sophomore students showed high rate(p<.05) as 40.6% 2. College Life and sense of values. Students showed the greatest interest in employment(27.0%) during attending and in deciding future plan(26.9%) after graduation. They responded a desirable attitude as a college students was a active and autonomous attitude as 34.0%. The best image of a college student was a student helping his/her peers with deep interest as 65.5%. The greatest trouble in college life was still future plan(27.7%). 3. Relationship to professors. Most responded they did not have professors to consult in the department as 72.4%. As a reason for this, insufficient oppartunity to talk with professors was the highest as 29.8%. They wanted any professor with much interest in employment of students as the best image of a professor(40.7%) and wanted to come into close relation with professors(30.9%).
