This study was carried out to understand the influence of dental technicians' image and major satisfaction on dental technology students' dropout intention. A questionnaire survey was administered to 273 students in the Department of Dental Technology. Frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results are as follows: The image of dental technicians differed significantly depending on factors such as school year, personality, whether a family member is a dental technician or not, reason for choosing a department, difficulty in one's own academic life, and disciplinary life adaptation (p<0.05). The image of dental technicians was seen to be positively perceived when the respondent had an affirmative personality, or had a dental technician among family members or chose the department for its uniqueness, or found no difficulty in academic life, and adapted well to a situational or environmental change. Major satisfaction of dental technicians was seen a meaningful difference in items such as school year, personality, awareness of dental technicians, reason for choosing a department, the difficulty in own academic life, and the disciplinary life adaptation (p<0.05). Individuals with high major satisfaction and low dropout intention included those with a positive personality, who think affirmatively about dental technicians, who chose a department owing to suiting the aptitude and interest or to the uniqueness of the major. The influential factors on dropout intention included general satisfaction out of major satisfaction, perspective and self-confident image among dental technicians, and an awareness of dental technicians. The establishment of a desirable image of dental technicians and the improvement in major satisfaction are considered likely to contribute to reducing the dropout intention of dental technology students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to supply basic data to establish new image for dental technicians by reflecting onto the education of dental technicians by grasping the image of dental technicians with the subjects of students in department of dental technology. Methods: It was studied with self-filling-in method through structured questionnaire from September 26, to October 21, 2011, with 421 subjects of the students in the department of dental technology in two colleges in Daegu. SPSS 18.0 for Windows was used to analyze the data, and frequency and percentage were used for statistic analysis, and correlation analysis and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used with mean and SD per each question. Results: It showed the highest recognition that the dental technicians is a 'specialist' as 4.66; the dental technicians has strong responsibility in his work as 4.42; the dental technicians takes an important role in improvement of public oral health as 4.39; and the dental technicians has professional intelligence and high technique as 4.33. So, it was found that they had image of professional and important role for oral health, and had their pride and selfconfidence as future dental technicians. Meanwhile, it showed that they had negative related-image as well as a job, that the dental technicians is too busy as 4.48; it requires improvement on image in the future as 4.27; it is a hard job with too much stress as 4.13. Conclusion: It is required for us and school to have continuous change and effort to make the students in the department of dental technology have positive mind for the dental technology to make them have pride for their job.

Purpose: This study aimed to employ a Q-methodological approach that can understand the characteristics of each type according to the subjective structures of humans, to help understand type-specific characteristics and to provide a basis for creating the image of dental technicians among dental technology students based on the characteristics of each type. Methods: The Q-methodology was used for this study. 120 Q-statements were obtained from a qualitative survey of 120 students of the department of dental technology. To select the Q-sample, the Q-population was categorized by taking several repeated readings. The selected statements were reviewed and revised by experts and 33 Q-samples were finally selected. The data were then analyzed using the PQ method program. Results: Among 42 P specimens, 22 were classified into type 1, 9 types 2, and 11 types 3. "Type 1" recognizes the image of dental technicians positively and optimistically (Z=1.29) (Z=1.74), but it is named "self-development oriented" in the sense that steady self-development must be underpinned (Z=1.37). "Type 2" agreed strongly that they could work for a lifetime without age or gender discrimination (Z=2.09). This type was referred to as "professional-oriented" because the recognition of dental technicians is more focused on "professional." "Type 3" was tagged "pride-oriented," showing the strongest agreement that they can be proud of their job as healthcare workers (Z=1.08). Conclusion: Many studies on such an image should be carried out to determine the importance of occupational images and establish desirable status for dental technicians to continue developing.

Purpose : The purpose of study was 500 people who are not related to dentistry in order to survey image about dental technicians. Methods : The subjects were composed of 500 people who are not related in Daegu Metropolitan city. This study was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences 17.0 for Windows. As for the analysis methods, the study used the frequency analysis, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis of variance. Results : The score on the image of dental technicians declined in the order of occupational image(2.98), work image(3.14), personal image(3.26), social image(2.87). 'It is hard and stressful' in the occupational image had the highest score with 3.69, 'Dentist and companionship are strong' in the occupational image had the lowest score with 2.21. 'It need expert knowledge and a skilled technology' in the work image had the highest score with 3.69, 'Health medical treatment side of health technique is occupation.' in the work image had the lowest score with 3.69. 'It always work busily' in the personal image had the highest score with 3.69, 'It is value and is effect work.' in the personal image had the lowest score with 3.69. 'An employment is easy after license acquisition.' in the social image had the highest score with 3.69, 'It admit independence' in the social image had the lowest score with 3.69. Conclusion : Dental technition research in order to image improvement and recognition, as the medical professional must construct the desirable dental technition image and recognition.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the image and the awareness of dental laboratory technicians in health allied college students. Methods: The subject of this research are 431 health-related major students who are selected by convenience sampling from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do. After a survey was conducted, the answer sheets from 401 respondents were analyzed except for 30 incomplete ones. The collected data is statistically analyzed by SPSS(Statistical Packages for Social Science 12.0. SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The findings of the study were as follows: As a result of general awareness about dental laboratory technicians, the health allied college students knew 83.0% about dental laboratory technician as a job. Respondents showed high recognition about dental laboratory technician as a job($3.62{\pm}0.31$), which showed that the health allied college students took a favorable view of dental laboratory in general. There were significant difference in dental laboratory technician image with age, gender(P<.05). Conclusion: It is required to develop programs such as proactive public relations or campaign via mass media that could enhance the public recognition about dental laboratory technician up to one of professional as required. It is also necessary that dental laboratory technicians make steady efforts for self-development to enhance their own job philosophy and skills in the level of quality, while they need various educations for building up their own favorable personality and positive ideas.

본 연구는 일반인들의 치과기공사에 대한 이미지를 알아보기 위하여 치과계에 관련이 없는 만 18세 이상의 일반성인 350명을 대상으로 선정하여 자기기입식 설문지를 이용하여 조사하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS 12.0 for Windows 통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 전산처리 하였다. 분석기법으로는 빈도와 백분율, T-test, F-test(ANOVA)분석을 하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 치과기공사의 이미지에 관한 연구는 직업적 이미지가 3.62, 업무적 이미지 3.46 순으로 나타났다. 이 중에서 직업적 이미지인 ‘전문적 지식과 기술이 필요하다’가 4.17로 가장 높았으며, ‘전문적이다’가 4.14로 높았다. ‘힘들고 스트레스가 많지 않다’가 2.43으로 가장 낮은 이미지를 나타났다. 치과기공사에 대한 선호도에 관한 연구는 2.67로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이 중에서 연령별은 20대 미만이 3.53으로 높게 나타났으며, 직업은 학생이 3.29로 높게 나타났다. 수입은 150만원 미만이 2.91로 높게 나타났다.

Traditionally, tooth restoration has been carried out by replicating teeth using plaster-based materials. However, recent technological advances have simplified the production process through the introduction of computer-aided design(CAD) systems. Nevertheless, dental restoration varies among individuals, and the skill level of dental technicians significantly influences the accuracy of the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an approach to designing personalized tooth restorations using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN), a widely adopted technique in computer vision. The primary objective of this model is to create customized dental prosthesis for each patient by utilizing 3D data of the specific teeth to be treated and their corresponding opposite tooth. To achieve this, the 3D dental data is converted into a depth map format and used as input data for the GAN model. The proposed model leverages the network architecture of Pixel2Style2Pixel, which has demonstrated superior performance compared to existing models for image conversion and dental prosthesis generation. Furthermore, this approach holds promising potential for future advancements in dental and implant production.

Purpose: This study examines the influence and the relevance of personal background factors, social activity factors, and satisfaction factors for university education of college students in terms of changes in core competencies required by companies, so as to provide basic data for developing a curriculum necessary for improving core competencies. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire survey was administered to 172 college students from the Department of Dental Laboratory Technology at K University in Gangwon Province, who understood the purpose of this study and agreed to participate, from September 10, 2022 to September 30, 2022. Results: 1. The core competency scores of university students in the dental technology department for teamwork was 3.91±0.65, creativity was 3.66±0.70, challenging spirit was 3.64±0.74, professionalism was 3.54±0.74, global was 3.29±0.69. 2. To enhance the core competencies of college students in the dental technology department, it is necessary to improve the satisfaction with the curriculum through the expansion of educational infrastructure, and help in the career decision and preparation process. Conclusion: It is necessary to seek research that identifies the core competencies of dental technicians and university students based on the image of human resources desired by companies in a more diverse way and programs necessary to promote them.

성공적인 보철 수복물을 제공하기 위해서는 치과의사와 치과기공사 간의 긴밀한 의사소통은 중요한 요소이다. 치과기공사와 의견 교환은 주로 기공의뢰서와 사진촬영의 형태로 이루어져 왔으나 정보 전달이 제한될 수 있다고 보고되었다. 현재는 디지털 기술에 기반을 둔 보철물 제작이 일반화됨에 따라 영상 객체를 웹상에 저장하고 모바일 브라우저를 통해 손쉽게 확인할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 CAD 소프트웨어를 이용하여 보철물을 설계하고 웹뷰어를 통해 치과의사와 설계된 보철물을 검토하여 보철물의 설계를 개선한 증례들을 소개한다. 본 프로토콜을 통해 교합면 및 치관 형태, 대합치 치료, 치은측 치간 공극의 크기, 가공치 하방 형태 등을 개선할 수 있었다. 이러한 웹뷰어를 통한 보철물 설계를 3차원적으로 치과의사와 공유하고 토의하여 수정하는 과정은 구강내 조건의 다양성과 개별화된 요구를 반영하는 데 기여하여 기능적이고 심미적인 보철물을 제작하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있다.
