  • RTP(Rapid Thermal Pressing) is to fabricate desired pattern on polymer substrate by pressing patterned mold against the substrate heated around glass transition temperature. For a successful RTP process, the whole process including heating, molding, cooling and demolding should be conducted 'rapidly' as possible. As the RTP process is effective in replicating patterns on flat large surface without causing shape distortion after cooling, it is being widely used for fabricating various micro/bio application components, especially with channel-type microstructures on surface. This investigation finally aims to develop a RTP process machine for mass-producing micro/bio application components. As a first step for that purpose, we intended to examine the technological difficulties for realizing mass production by RTP process. Therefore, in the current paper, 4 kinds of RTP machines were examined and then the RTP process was conducted experimentally for PMMA film by using one of the machines, HEX 03. The micro-patterned molds used for RTP experiment was fabricated from silicon wafer by semi-conduct process. The replicated micro patterns on PMMA films were examined using SEM and the causes of defect observed in the replicated patterns were discussed.

재사용 가능한 100nm급 패턴의 퀄츠 마스터 제작 및 퀄츠 마스터를 사용한 사출성형실험 (Fabrication of Nanoscale Reusable Quartz Master for Nano Injection Molding Process)

  • In this paper, we present reusable quartz master fabricated by electron-beam lithography and dry etching process of quartz, and results of injection molding based on the reusable quartz master for the manufacturing of nano-scale information media. Since patterned structures of photoresist can be easily damaged by separation (demolding) process of nickel stamper and master, a master with photoresist cannot be reused in stamper fabrication process. In this work, we have made it possible of the repeated use of master by directly patterning on quart in nickel stamper fabrication process. We have designed and fabricated four different specimens including 100nm, 140nm 200nm and 400nm pit patterns. In addition, both intaglio and embossed carving patterns are fabricated for each specimen. In the preliminary test of injection molding, we have fabricated polycarbonate patterns with varying mold temperature. We have experimentally verified the fabrication process of the reusable quart master and possibility of quartz master as direct stamper.

고속철도 침목용 고강도콘크리트의 개발 (Development of High Strength Concrete for the Sleepers of High Speed Rail)

  • In the present, we have developed high strength concrete for the sleepers of high speed rail and verified its applicability by in-situ applications. Concrete for sleepers is manufactured by steam curing at low temperature(below 55$^{\circ}C$), and should be finished its manufacturing process such as placing, curing, demolding and prestressing in 24 hours. The sleepers need its compressive strength above 350kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in 15 hours, air-entrainment for durability and nominal design strength of 600kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, considering its quality variation at factory. We performed the optimum mix design of concrete and verified the rightness of the use of TYPE III cement. Finally, we have confirmed the manufactured sleepers satisfy the required material properties through in-situ application.

  • Due to the construction of high-rise and long axis etc, UHPC(Ultra High Performance Concrete) has attracted attention as a material that will replace the existing concrete. In order to improve the structural performance of each member joints, after demolding the concrete, method for surface treatment of the contact surface or by modifying the mold to create a shear key will be applied. In this study, to improve the conventional shear key manufacturing process, utilizing a 3d printer to produce a shear key plate. 3D printers have advantage it is inexpensively manufactured as compared with other production methods. Therefore, this study utilizes a 3D printer, we propose the shear key-shaped mold and plate shear key production measures.

GMT-Sheet 성형품의 표면요철에 미치는 성형조건의 영향 (Effects of Molding Condition on Surface Unevenness of GMT-Sheet Moldings)

  • 성형조건에 따른 GMT-Sheet를 관찰하여, 성형품 표면의 불량원인을 조사했다. 현미경 관찰 결과, GMT-Sheet 성형품의 표면에서 구정, 섬유돌출, 크랙, 섬유노출, 마이크로 웰드라인, 핀홀, 여파굴곡곡선 등의 결함을 발견했다. 이 결함들은 요철의 발생원인이고, 표면 광택에 영향을 주는 현상이다. 그리고 표면거칠기에 영향을 주는 요철의 가장 주요한 발생원인은 보압 냉각 과정에서 발생하는 모재의 수축이었다. 성형 시의 보압하중이 높을수록 GMT-Sheet 성형품 표면은 좋아졌다. 또한 서냉실험에서는 탈형온도가 낮을수록 성형품의 표면이 좋아졌다.

Analysis of Characteristics of Slurry and Thermal Insulation Materials Using Hauyne Cement

  • This study focused on manufacturing an inorganic insulation material set with various amounts of calcium-sulfoaluminate (CSA) (hauyne) content for enhancing both workability (demolding, handling) and the high thermal insulating property. To carry out the experiment, the amounts of CSA utilized were 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, with anhydrous gypsum added in equal proportion to produce a stable formation. As the content of CSA increased, a sinking phenomenon occurred because of the hydration reaction from the slurry, so it was difficult to utilize a retarder normally used in the cement manufacturing process. However, an RCOOM surfactant was able to solve the local clumping problem from cement and CSA and obtain a rapid retarding effect, so it was included in this process at 0.3%. Furthermore, the cement fineness was not 7000 ㎠/g but rather 3300 ~ 4000 ㎠/g to prevent a rapid temperature increase in the slurry. The specific gravity of the sample manufactured with 20% CSA was approximately 0.11 g/㎤, and its thermal conductivity was 0.041 W/m·K, providing an excellent insulating property.

프레스성형공정에서 금형에 전달되는 진동 신호에 기반한 공정특성 분석에 대한 연구 (A Study on Process Characterization based on Vibration Signals Transmitted to the Mold in the Press Molding Process)

  • In this study, the vibration signal of the mold was measured and analyzed to monitor the process information and characteristics during the press molding process. A necklace-type picture frame mold was used for press molding, and the vibration signal was measured by GY-61 acceleration sensor module attached to the surface of the upper (movable) mold base. The change of the vibration signal of the mold according to press speed was analyzed. As a result, the vibration signal had a large change at five sections: "Holder contact", "Punch contact and start of pressing", "End of pressing", "Mold open", and "Demolding". The time difference between "Punch contact and start of pressing" and "End of pressing" means the pressing time which is the actual time the material is molded under pressing pressure. The time intervals for each section, represented by the time interval between "Holder contact" and "Punch contact and start of pressing", can be used to compare and evaluate the press speed applied to the process. By comparing the vibration signals at 60 rpm and 90 rpm, the amplitude at the section of "Punch contact and start of pressing" increased as the press speed increased. This result means that as the press speed increases, more force and pressure is applied to the material. Also, the peak values of the other sections were found to increase as the press speed increased. It was found that the pressing time, the time interval between "Punch contact and start of pressing" and "End of pressing", decreases as the pressing speed increases. Similarly, press speed factor, the time interval between "Holder contact", and "Punch contact and start of pressing", is found to be shorter. Therefore, based on the result of this study, the pressing time, press speed, pressing(punching) pressure of each cycle can be monitored by measuring the vibration signal of the mold. Also, it was confirmed that the level and trend of process information and characterization can be evaluated as the change of the mold vibration during press molding.

롤투롤 임프린트 공정 중 균일한 레진 코팅을 위한 닥터블레이드형 디스펜서 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of Doctor Blade Type Dispensers for Uniform Resin Coating during Roll to Roll Imprinting Process)

  • This study reports on a uniform resin coating method by using a doctor blade type dispenser. For high productivity, continuous imprint-lithography has been studied, and developed fabrication systems are used in several applications such as anti-reflection films, dry adhesives, and water collecting surfaces. In the continuous fabrication field, researchers have typically focused on patterning and demolding procedures. During the roll-to-roll fabrication process, however, the uniform resin coating process is also important in order to obtain a high quality product, which can be evaluated by uniform thickness, precise geometric expressions, and a thin residual layer. To achieve these, a doctor blade type dispenser was designed and fabricated. As a result, thickness of coated resin was well controlled by modulating the flow rate of the resin and blading gap. In addition, a very thin layer coating process (${\sim}10{\mu}m$) was achieved by softly contacting the blade on the substrate.

실험 계획법을 이용한 점착방지막용 플라즈마 증착 공정변수의 최적화 연구 (Optimizing the Plasma Deposition Process Parameters of Antistiction Layers Using a DOE (Design of Experiment))

  • NIL (nanoimprint lithography) technique has demonstrated a high potential for wafer size definition of nanometer as well as micrometer size patterns. During the replication process by NIL, the stiction between the stamp and the polymer is one of major problems. This stiction problem is moi·e important in small sized patterns. An antistiction layer prevents this stiction ana insures a clean demolding process. In this paper, we were using a TCP (transfer coupled plasma) equipment and $C_4F_8$ as a precursor to make a Teflon-like antistiction layer. This antistiction layer was deposited on a 6 inch silicon wafer to have nanometer scale thicknesses. The thickness of deposited antistiction layer was measured by ellipsometry. To optimize the process factor such as table height (TH), substrate temperature (ST), working pressure (WP) and plasma power (PP), we were using a design of experimental (DOE) method. The table of full factorial arrays was set by the 4 factors and 2 levels. Using this table, experiments were organized to achieve 2 responses such as deposition rate and non-uniformity. It was investigated that the main effects and interaction effects between parameters. Deposition rate was in proportion to table height, working pressure and plasma power. Non-uniformity was in proportion to substrate temperature and working pressure. Using a response optimization, we were able to get the optimized deposition condition at desired deposition rate and an experimental deposition rate showed similar results.

고화소 카메라폰 모듈을 위한 Glass 렌즈 성형용 Silicon Carbide 코어의 초정밀 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ultra Precision Grinding of Silicon Carbide Molding Core for High Pixel Camera Phone Module)

  • Recently, aspheric glass lens molding core is fabricated with tungsten carbide(WC). If molding core is fabricated with silicon carbide(SiC), SiC coating process, which must be carried out before the Diamond-Like Carbon(DLC) coating can be eliminated and thus, manufacturing time and cost can be reduced. Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) is being researched in various fields because of its high hardness, high elasticity, high durability, and chemical stability and is used extensively in several industrial fields. Especially, the DLC coating of the molding core surface used in the fabrication of a glass lens is an important technical field, which affects the improvement of the demolding performance between the lens and molding core during the molding process and the molding core lifetime. Because SiC is a material of high hardness and high brittleness, it can crack or chip during grinding. It is, however, widely used in many fields because of its superior mechanical properties. In this paper, the grinding condition for silicon carbide(SiC) was developed under the grinding condition of tungsten carbide. A silicon carbide molding core was fabricated under this grinding condition. The measurement results of the SiC molding core were as follows: PV of 0.155 ${\mu}m$(apheric surface) and 0.094 ${\mu}m$(plane surface), Ra of 5.3 nm(aspheric surface) and 5.5 nm(plane surface).
