비선형 시계열 하천생태모형 개발과정 중 시간지연단계와 입력변수, 모형 예측성 간 관계평가 (Relationship among Degree of Time-delay, Input Variables, and Model Predictability in the Development Process of Non-linear Ecological Model in a River Ecosystem)

  • In this study, we implemented an experimental approach of ecological model development in order to emphasize the importance of input variable selection with respect to time-delayed arrangement between input and output variables. Time-series modeling requires relevant input variable selection for the prediction of a specific output variable (e.g. density of a species). Inadequate variable utility for input often causes increase of model construction time and low efficiency of developed model when applied to real world representation. Therefore, for future prediction, researchers have to decide number of time-delay (e.g. months, weeks or days; t-n) to predict a certain phenomenon at current time t. We prepared a total of 3,900 equation models produced by Time-Series Optimized Genetic Programming (TSOGP) algorithm, for the prediction of monthly averaged density of a potamic phytoplankton species Stephanodiscus hantzschii, considering future prediction from 0- (no future prediction) to 12-months ahead (interval by 1 month; 300 equations per each month-delay). From the investigation of model structure, input variable selectivity was obviously affected by the time-delay arrangement, and the model predictability was related with the type of input variables. From the results, we can conclude that, although Machine Learning (ML) algorithms which have popularly been used in Ecological Informatics (EI) provide high performance in future prediction of ecological entities, the efficiency of models would be lowered unless relevant input variables are selectively used.

Investigating the Effects of Hearing Loss and Hearing Aid Digital Delay on Sound-Induced Flash Illusion

  • Background and Objectives: The integration of auditory-visual speech information improves speech perception; however, if the auditory system input is disrupted due to hearing loss, auditory and visual inputs cannot be fully integrated. Additionally, temporal coincidence of auditory and visual input is a significantly important factor in integrating the input of these two senses. Time delayed acoustic pathway caused by the signal passing through digital signal processing. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of hearing loss and hearing aid digital delay circuit on sound-induced flash illusion. Subjects and Methods: A total of 13 adults with normal hearing, 13 with mild to moderate hearing loss, and 13 with moderate to severe hearing loss were enrolled in this study. Subsequently, the sound-induced flash illusion test was conducted, and the results were analyzed. Results: The results showed that hearing aid digital delay and hearing loss had no detrimental effect on sound-induced flash illusion. Conclusions: Transmission velocity and neural transduction rate of the auditory inputs decreased in patients with hearing loss. Hence, the integrating auditory and visual sensory cannot be combined completely. Although the transmission rate of the auditory sense input was approximately normal when the hearing aid was prescribed. Thus, it can be concluded that the processing delay in the hearing aid circuit is insufficient to disrupt the integration of auditory and visual information.

  • The robot soccer simulation game is a dynamic multi-agent environment. In this paper we suggest a new reinforcement learning approach to each agent´s dynamic positioning in such dynamic environment. Reinforcement learning is the machine learning in which an agent learns from indirect, delayed reward an optimal policy to choose sequences of actions that produce the greatest cumulative reward. Therefore the reinforcement learning is different from supervised learning in the sense that there is no presentation of input-output pairs as training examples.   • In this paper and recursive version of orthogonal ARMA identification algorithm is proposed. The basic algorithm is based on Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization of automatically selected basis functions from specified function space, but does not require explicit creation of orthogonal functions. By using two dimensional autocorrelations and crosscorrelations of input and output with constant data length, identification algorithm is extended to cope slowly time-varying or order-varying delayed system.

  • The disturbance and time delay can often cause a significant error in the estimation of trajectory of a underwater vehicle. The time delay considered in this study is due to the delayed rudder response to the rudder input from the guidance control part. The simulation tests are performed on maneuver with constant rudder angle, zigzag maneuver, dive-climb maneuver, and corridor pattern maneuver. The results are compared with those of without delay cases.

  • We present a method for the estimation of intramuscular electromyographic(EMG) signals from the given surface EMG signals. This method is based on representing the surface EMG signal as an autoregressive(AR) time model with a delayed intramuscular EMG signal as an input. The parameters of the time series model that transforms the intramuscular signal to the surface signal are identified. The identified model is then used in estimating the intramuscular signal from the surface signal.

  • A recursive on-line algorithm with orthogonal ARMA identification is proposed for linear systems with unkonwn time delay, order, and parameters. The algorithm is based on the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization of basis functions, and extendedto recursive form by using two dimensional autocorrelations and crosscorrelations of input and output with constant data length. The proposed algorith can cope with slowly time-varying or order-varying delayed system. Various simulations reveal the performance of the algorithm.

  • In this paper, we present a robust H\ulcorner control design method for parameter uncertain systems that have delay in both state and control input. Through a certain algebraic Riccati inequality approach, a state feedback controller is obtained. The proposed state feedback controller stabilizes parameter uncertain delay systems and guarantees disturbance attenuation within a prescribed level. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the results of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme for the discretization of nonlinear systems using Taylor series expansion and the zero-order hold assumption. This scheme is applied to the sampled-data representation of a non-affine nonlinear system with constant input time-delay. The mathematical expressions of the discretization scheme are presented and the ability of the algorithm is tested for some of the examples. The proposed scheme provides a finite-dimensional representation for nonlinear systems with time-delay enabling existing controller design techniques to be applied to them. For all the case studies, various sampling rates and time-delay values are considered.

  • 본 논문에서는 혼합된 입력음성신호들을 분리하기 위해 마이크로폰 어레이를 이용한 주파수영역 ICA 블라인드 음원분리 방법을 제안한다. 음성신호가 지연 혼합되어 입력되더라도 신호와 잡음을 분리하기 위한 분리행렬이 최적해로 수렴할 수 있도록 입력신호의 상호상관도를 이용하여 지연 혼합의 초기 지연값을 결정하는 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 계산량을 줄이기 위하여 주파수영역 블라인드 음원분리 알고리즘을 채용한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 블라인드 음원분리 방법의 성능을 컴퓨터시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인한다.
