A Study about Microbiological Quality and Safety Control of a Central Commissary School Foodservice System in Daejeon City Area (대전지역 도시형 공동조리교 급식의 미생물적 품질관리에 관한 연구)

  • This study researched microbial change of quality according to the various phases of product flow of cooked pea and rice, cold cucumber and seaweed soup, soybean sprouts japchae feeding urban type of a commissary school and a satellite school in Daejeon area, also it suggested the possibility that the central commissary foodservice system can be established and utilized more developmental to identify its food of variation of temperature and state of safety unitl 3 hours after cooking for the case of delay of distribution and holding because of the satellite school of geographical location and traffic problem. The critical Control Points identified for each category of menu items were: Boiled pea and rice: inadequate distribution, holding and storing before assembly; Cold cucumber and seaweed soup: pre-preparation and post-preparation after cooking; Soybean sprouts japchae: Pre-preparation, post-preparation and storing. As the result of observation of the variation of temperature and microbial safety according to the delay of distribution and holding for each food, all of them were relatively safe until 3 hours after cooking, but cold cucumber and seaweed soup being stored for 3 hours, the value of E. coli is $10^3$ CFU/g. The variation of temperature was more extreme in soybean sprouts japchae than cooked pea and rice and cold cucumber and seaweed soup. It was proved that the stainless container was excellent and that adequate holding container should be used.

A Study of Cell delay for ABR service in ATM network (ATM 네트워크에서 ABR 서비스의 셀 지연 방식에 관한 연구)

  • A general goal of the ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network is to support connections across various networks. ABR service using EPRCA(Enhanced Proportional Rate Control Algorithm) switch controls traffics in ATM network. EPRCA switch, traffic control method uses variation of the ACR(Allowed Cell Rate) to enhance the utilization of the link bandwidth. However, in ABR(Available Bit Rate) service, different treatments are offered according to different RTTs(Round Trip Times) of connections. To improve the above unfairness, this paper presents ABR DELAY mechanism, in which three reference parameters for cell delay are defined, and reflect on the messages of RM(Resource Management) cells. To evaluate our mechanism, we compare the fairness among TCP connections between ABR DELAY mechanism and ABR RRM mechanism. And also we execute simulations on a simple ATM network model where six TCP connections and a background traffic with different RTTs share the bandwidth of a bottleneck link. The simulation results, based on TCP goodput and efficiency, clearly show that ABR DELAY mechanism improves the fairness among TCP connections.

  • The delay due to congestion has recently attracted widespread attention with the analysis of over-all operation at the port. But, the complexity of the situation is evident in view of the large number of factors which impinge on the considerable end. Queueing theory is applicable to a large scale transportation system which is associated with arrivals of vessels in a large port. The attempt of this paper is to make an extensive analysis of the port transport system and its economic implications from the viewpoint that port is one of the physical distribution facilities and a kind of queueing system which includes ships and cargoes as port customer. By analyzing the real data on the Port of Pusan, it is known that this port can be represented as a set of multi-channel with identical setof Poisson arrival and Erlang service time, and also it is confirmed that the following formula is suitable to calculate the mean delay in this port, namely, $W_4={\frac{\rho}{\lambda(1-\rho)} {\frac{e_N(\rho{\cdot}N)}{D_{N-1}(\rho{\cdot}N)}$ where, ${\lambda}$: mean arrival rate $\mu$: mean servicing rate; N: number of servicing channel; ${\rho}$: utillization rate (${\lambda}/N{\mu}$) $e_N$: the Poisson function Coming to grips with the essentials of the cost of delay due to congestion, a simple ship journey cost model is adopted and the operating profit sensitivity to variation in port time is examined, and for purpose of a future development for port princing service the marginal cost is approximately calculated on the basis of queueing theory.

Novel Pass-transistor Logic based Ultralow Power Variation Resilient CMOS Full Adder

  • This paper proposes a new full adder design based on pass-transistor logic that offers ultra-low power dissipation and superior variability together with low transistor count. The pass-transistor logic allows device count reduction through direct logic realization, and thus leads to reduction in the node capacitances as well as short-circuit currents due to the absence of supply rails. Optimum transistor sizing alleviates the adverse effects of process variations on performance metrics. The design is subjected to a comparative analysis against existing designs based on Monte Carlo simulations in a SPICE environment, using the 22-nm CMOS Predictive Technology Model (PTM). The proposed ULP adder offers 38% improvement in power in comparison to the best performing conventional designs. The trade-off in delay to achieve this power saving is estimated through the power-delay product (PDP), which is found to be competitive to conventional values. It also offers upto 79% improvement in variability in comparison to conventional designs, and provides suitable scalability in supply voltage to meet future demands of energy-efficiency in portable applications.

  • Unburned hydrocarbon is a key contributor to both the fuel economy and emissions of automotive engine. Cyclic variation of HC emission is of importance, especially during throttle transients. The real time measurement of hydrocarbon is particularly important to obtain a better understanding of the mechanisms for combustion and emissions, especially during cold start and throttle transient condition. This paper reports the cycle resolved measurement technique of unburned hydrocarbons to quantify rapid changes of in-cylinder concentration in the vicinity of spark plug by using the Fast Response Flame Ionization Detector(FRFID). While this instrument actually measures fuel concentration, its results can be indicative of the AFR behaviour. In order to understand the rapid change of hydrocarbons with cylinder pressure, it is necessary to study the response time delay of the system, including the time associated with gas transportation to FID. And signal from FRFID is correlated with cylinder pressure data to relate changes in mixture preparation to the classic analysis, such as indicated mean effective(IMEF) and ignition delay, etc.

  • Time to digital converter is designed. To obtain the digital signal from time information the analog delay element is used. Because the analog delay element shows more stable characteristics compared to the digital delay element in view point of process variation. The designed circuit has temperature stale characteristics when the range of operating temperature is from $-20^{\circ}C$ to $70^{\circ}C$. The circuit is simulated and confirmed by HSPICE.

  • A two-dimensional pulsed doppler system for ultrasonic blood velocity doppler signals is studied and implemented. The second-order sampling method and serial data processing procedures are utillized in the sys- tem, which eliminates the untuning problems at phase channels in the quadrature detection method as well as in the channels of parallel data processing. rho digital signal processor used in this system allows a hardware savings and flexible design options. The efficiency of the various mean frequency estimators in the second-order sampling system is examined by computer simulation as a function of the intersequence sample delay time. The temporal delay for the quadrature component is changed from $1/(4f_o){\;}to{\;}3/(4f_o){\;}and{\;}5/(4f_o)$ where to is the center frequency of the transducer, It is found that autocorrelator is the optimum frequency estimator for the second-order sampling: with !he intersequence sample delay of $1/(4f_o){\;}to{\;}3/(4f_o){\;}and{\;}5/(4f_o)$. The qualitative variation and information proportional to blood velocity in the vessel system are obtained in the VIVO experiments.

  • The characteristics and structures of photopolymer are analyzed in this paper, which recently have various applications in optical information processing and optical memory, Especially, Du Pont's photopolymer OmniDex 706 reflection film is used in many experiments of different exposures and incident angles, and analyzed by the diffraction pattern generated by glass plate's reflection beam. With the dark reaction of the monomer in photopolymerization, dynamic parameters are considered due to the variation of exposure time and diffusion time delay after exposure. The performance of diffraction efficiency is improved by 10%, when an exposure time is 6.25 sec, and a diffusion time delay is 2 minute.

  • The bearing detection of radiated target noise is very important at underwater acoustic measurement and passive detection. It differs the arrival tines of received signal at each sensor. Therefore, the bearing can be obtained from the time delay. This paper proposes a new algorithm using the RLSL adaptive filter for TDE. The proposed method is particularly attractive when there is a limitation of priori information about the received signal spectra and when the delay is subject to variation. As the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed algorithm has better convergence characteristics and TDE speed, and so that the usefulness of proposed algorithm is confirmed.

  • Packet arrival-delay variation, so-called 'jitter' is one of the main factors that degrade the quality of voice in mobile devices at the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). To resolve this issue, a playout scheduling based on adaptive jitter estimation for enhancing VoIP speech quality is proposed. The proposed algorithm copes with the effect of transmission jitter by expanding or compressing each packet according to the predicted network delay and variations. Additionally, the active network jitter estimation incorporates rapid detection of delay spikes and reacts to changes in network conditions. The experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm delivers high voice quality in unstable network environment.
