Study on crystal texture of PIT processed Bi-2223 multi-filamentary tape (PIT 공정으로 제조한 Bi-2223 다심 고온 초전도 선재의 결정 배향성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the crystal texture of the 2223 phase and its relationship with PIT processing parameter. Ag-sheathed Bi-2223 multi-filament tapes were prepared by changing rolling reduction ratio. We analysed the degree of texture for 2223 phase after heat-treatment. According to X-ray pole-figure, the texture of the filaments located near surface and center were not so different each other for all rolling conditions. we found a little higher degree of texture for 60% rolling reduction. But its difference is not so high compared with those tapes with a lower rolling reduction ratio. Reaction induced texturing seemed to contribute with a large portion under present condition.

  • Recent major domestic facilities, such as nuclear power plants, many control cables are installed and are degraded by long-term use, but research on deterioration diagnosis is lacking. In the event of a fault in the cable due to deterioration can be developed into a major accident such as the main plant is stopped, so the deterioration diagnostic techniques of high reliability for the cable is required. In this paper, proposes a methodology using a cable resonance that can effectively diagnose the deterioration of the cable. Prior to the test, we developed a setup for stable measuring the characteristics of the cable and it verified the suitable of the measurement set-up in terms of interactivity and reliability, also measured S-parameters applying verified measurement set-up to the cables that deterioration degree is different. Then, we had amplified the difference in resonance frequency between the healthy state and the deteriorated state using connection in a series of measured S-parameters. In a result from the method, we have verified that the more deteriorate the cables is, the more decrease the resonance frequency is. Measured results are justified by inducing the resonance frequency calculation of the cable from the S- parameters represented by the hyperbolic function formula. VNA(Vector Network Analyzer) for S-parameter measurements used in this study is Agilent E5061B and shielded twisted-pair cables was used for deterioration diagnostic test.

  • This paper deals with a mathematical model which explains process of aquisition or skillfulness of human. Especially, in the case of determinating a ship's position, a degree of aquisitiion or skillfulness has a significant meaning in the view point of reliability of a data because it is closely connected with the position error. In this paper, the authors have obtained the following mathematical model, who analyzed quantitavely the data obtained by a process of measuring the horizontal sextant angles and extracted the factors or parameters affecting the process of aquisition or skillfulness of human.   • The communicative disorders in cleft palate patients have relationship with the acoustic and He physiological phenomena. Particularily hypernasality is a parameter of cleft palate speech that has been studied by many clinicians and speech pathologists. The degree of hypernasality has been assessed by the listener,s judgement, but perceptual assessements have poor scientific reliability, so objective instruments have been needed to test hypernasality with diagnostics accuracy. This study was analyzed the nasalance score using a Nasometer for cleft palate patients. The simple vowels /a/, /i/, /e/ and the approximants /j/, /w/ were tested for the degree of hypernasality after operation. The phrases containing long and short duration times were used in this study to asses hypeernasality. Fiberopic views shows the open velopharyngeal port that resulted in hypernasality of cleft palate patients. The authors assert the important of the management of cleft palate patients.

  • It's required mechanical properties of in-service facilities to maintain safety operation in power plants as well as chemical plants. In this studdy the four classes of the thermally aged 1Cr-lMo-0.25V specimens were prepared using an artificially accelerated aging method at 630$\^{C}$. Ultrasonic tests, tensile tests, K$\_$IC/ tests and hardness tests were performed in order to evaluate the degree of degradation of the material. The mechanical properties were decreased as degraded, but the attenuation coefficient and the harmonic generation level of a ultrasonic signal were increased. Expecially the nonlinear parameter derived from the harmonic generation level is sensitive and will be a good parameter to evaluate the material degradation.

  • This paper proposes an effective self-turning algorithm based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for fuzzy speed control of the indirect vector controlled induction motor. Indirect vector control method divides and controls stator current by the flux and the torque producing current so that the dynamic characteristic of induction motor may be superior. However, if motor parameter changes, the flux current and the torque producing one's coupling happens and deteriorates the dynamic characteristic. The fuzzy speed controller of an induction motor has the robustness over the effect of this parameter variation than a conventional PI speed controller in some degree. This paper improves its adaptability by adding the self-tuning mechanism to the fuzzy controller. For tracking the speed command, its membership functions are adjusted using ANN adaptation mechanism. This adaptability could be embodied by moving the center positions of the membership functions. Proposed self-tuning method has wide adaptability than existent fuzzy controller or PI controller and is proved robust about parameter variation through Matlab/Simulink simulation.

  • While the conventional edge detection can be considered as the problem of determining the existence of edges at certain locations, the fuzzy edge modeling can be considered as the problem of determining the membership values of edges. Thus, if the location of an edge is unclear, or if the intensity function is different from the ideal edge model, the degree of edgeness at the location is represented as a fuzzy membership value. Using the concept of fuzzy edgeness, an automatic smoothing parameter evaluation and selection method for a conventional edge detector is proposed. This evaluation method uses the fuzzy edge modeling, and can analyze the effect of smoothing parameter to determine an optimal parameter for a given image. By using the selected parameter we can detect least ambiguous edges of a detection method for an image. The effectiveness of the parameter evaluation method is analyzed and demonstrated using a set of synthetic and real images.

  • The size of pupil with pupillary light reflex is determined by the amount of a luminance. and it is dependent with the distribution function of the retinal illuminance which is the amount of transmittance for the external light due to the size of pupil, and the detector of cone and rod due to the amount of the luminance. The change of the pupil size with the luminance can be expressed with the mathematical model $$y(x)={\alpha}+{\beta}\frac{1}{1+{e}{x}{p}(x-x_0)/{\theta}}$$ where ${\alpha}$ is the size of the pupil diameter in a maximum value of the luminance, ${\beta}$ is the deviation of the pupil's diameter between maximum and minimum, ${\theta}$ is the parameter showed the degree of a sensitivity. Comparing with the experimental value of P.Moon et al, We known that the equation of the model is very compatible.

Comparative Study on Unsaturated Characteristic Curves of Boeun Granite Weathered Soil during Drying and Wetting Paths (건조 및 습윤과정에서 보은 화강암 풍화토의 불포화특성곡선 비교)

  • To investigate the unsaturated characteristics of the Boeun granite weathered soil, matric suction and volumetric water content were measured in both drying and wetting paths using Automated Soil-Water Characteristics Curve Apparatus. Based on the measured results, Soil-Water Characteristics Curve was estimated by van Genuchten (1980) model. The relationship between effective degree of saturation and matric suction showed the non-linear curve with S-shape and the hysteresis phenomenon occurred during drying and wetting paths. Suction Stress Characteristics Curve was estimated by the Lu and Likos (2006) model. The suction stress in drying path was constantly maintained and that in wetting path tended to increase when the effective degree of saturation was low. But the suction stress in drying path was larger than that in wetting path at the same degree of saturation when the effective degree of saturation became larger. Meanwhile, Hydraulic Conductivity Function was evaluated by the van Genuchten (1980) model which is one of the parameter estimation methods. The unsaturated hydraulic conductivity decreased with increasing the matric suction, and the decreasing velocity regarding to the matric suction in drying path was larger than that in wetting path.

Quantitative Analysis of Renogram (Renogram의 정량분석(定量分析)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • Radioisotope renography was carried out in 564 cases consisting of 150 normal controls, 140 hypertensives, 102 hypertensive nephropathys, 62 chronic renal diseases, non-functioning kidneys. It was aimed to study which parameter of the renogram is most applicable to any definite disease of the kidney. The analytical methods adopted were; Tobe, Spencer, Krueger, Matchida and Takeuchi. In the non-functioning kidney groups, the hemograms and serum nitrogen series were also studied to evaluate the relationships between the renograms and renal anemia. The parameters were; time of maximum amplitude (Tmax), half-time of maximum amplitude ($T\frac{1}{2}$), Kac value calculated from these two parameters in Tobe's method, slopes of Band C phase, B/A and B/C values in Spencer's method, total concentration (T.C.), minute concentration (M.C.) and minute excretion (M.E.) in Krueger's method, Matchida's K value and Takeuchi's renal function Index (R.F.I.). Following were the results: 1. In general, marked differences in the patterns of the renogram were observed between the normal controls and nephropathys. In Tobe's method, each parameter showed statistically significant delay or decrease in patients with hypertensive nephropathys and chronic renal diseases. In Spencer's method, slopes of B and C phase and B/C, also showed the statistically significant decrease in patients with hypertension, hypertensive nephropathys and chronic renal diseases. In Krueger's method, M.C. and ME showed the statistically significant differences between the control and patients with hypertension, hypertensive nephropathys and chronic renal diseases, In Matchida's method, K value showed the statistically significant differences between the control and patients with hypertensive nephropathys and chronic renal diseases. 2. It appeared, therefore, that Tobe's $T\frac{1}{2}$, Kac value, Spencer's slopes of Band C phase, B/A, B/C values, Krueger's T.C., M.C., and M.E. values, Matchida's K value are useful for the differentiation of various renal diseases, however, qualitative analysis of the renogram with one or two parameters is not accurate. 3. In bilateral non-functioning kidney groups, a positive correlation between anemia and nitrogen retention was observed, although the quantitative assessment of the degree of non-functioning was impossible.
