Serum Liver Enzyme Pattern in Birth Asphyxia Associated Liver Injury

  • Purpose: To study temporal pattern of serum liver enzymes levels in newborns with hepatic injury associated with birth asphyxia (BA). Methods: Singleton term newborns with BA and ${\leq}72$ hours of age admitted to neonatal intensive care unit were prospectively enrolled. Term newborns with physiological jaundice and without BA were studied as controls. Serum liver enzymes were measured at <24 hours, 24-72 hours, and at 6-12 days of age for cases and at 1-6 days of age for controls. BA was defined by 1 minute Apgar score <7 or delayed or absent cry with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. BA-associated liver injury was defined as serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) elevation beyond +2 standard deviation (ALT > +2 SD) above the mean of control subjects at any of the three time points. Results: Sixty controls and 62 cases were enrolled. Thirty-five cases (56%) developed BA-associated liver injury (ALT>81 IU/L). They had higher serum levels of ALT, aspartate aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase than the control infants, with peak at 24-72 hours. In controls, serum liver enzyme levels were significantly higher in appropriate-for-date (AFD) babies than small-for-date (SFD) babies. Serum enzyme pattern and extent of elevation were comparable between SFD and AFD babies. Degree of serum liver enzyme elevation had no relationship with severity of hypoxic encephalopathy. Conclusion: Serum liver enzyme elevation is common in BA; it peaks at 24-72 hours followed by a sharp decline by 6-12 days of age. Pattern and extent of enzyme elevation are comparable between SFD and AFD babies.

  • Topographic condition is one of the most important things in farming activities. The topographic condition didn't matter for farming in the past because agricultural products had competitive power in the market. So farmers tried to extend their farms without any concern of topographic condition. We need less labor-consuming farming as industrial structure has been changed and the competitive power of the farming has been getting weak. This study analyzed the fallow potential in agricultural area by topographic condition so that we have got results as follows. Maps of elevation, slope, distance from roads and water resources were made for getting a fallow probability model in farms, and these 4 factors were used as independent variables while a variable on whether it is fallow or not is a dependent variable in logistic regression model. In an analysis of the fallow potential depending on farm land types, the fallow probability in fallow orchard showed the highest value of farm lands, 0.973. Cultivated orchard had 0.730 and upland had 0.616 of the fallow probability. The fields having high fallow potential had high elevation, steep slope, and long distance from water resources and roads. Especially, fields having a probability over 0.99 appeared in orchards, fallow uplands and single cropping uplands, which were recognized to have several disadvantages related to the fallow like as high elevation, steep slope, and long distance from water resources and roads. With the logistic analysis, the suitable farm lands appeared at 16.45m of the mean elevation, 1.89 degree of the mean slope, 39.91m of the average distance from water resources, and 32.39m of the average distance from roads. On the contrary, non-suitable land appeared at 114.7m of the mean elevation, 24.9 degree of the mean slope. The distance from roads was more important variable than the distance from water resources for analyzing suitable farm land.

포화도 변화에 따른 슬래브궤도 혼합성토 노반의 침하 특성 (Settlement characteristics of rock/soil mixture subgrade of slab track with variation of degree of saturation)

  • 산악지형이 많은 지역에서의 고속철도 건설에는 노선의 선형상의 이유로 터널구간이 많이 존재하며, 터널 건설로 발생하는 암버럭을 유용하기 위하여 노반 건설은 주로 암과 흙의 혼합성토로 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이암을 주암으로 하는 혼합토로 이루어진 고속철도 노반의 열차반복하중에 의한 침하특성을 분석하기 위하여 모형토조 실험을 수행하였다. 특히 강우 또는 지하수위 상승에 의한 노반의 포화도 증가가 열차 반복하중 작용 시 노반의 침하특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 초기 포화도 조건을 변화시키면서 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 낮은 포화도 조건에서는 열차반복횟수가 증가할수록 침하가 어느 일정 값에 수렴하는 결과를 나타냈으나, 일정 수준 이상의 포화도 조건에서는 침하가 급격히 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 노반의 포화도를 일정수준 이하로 관리하는 것이 침하 예방에 중요한 요소임을 확인 할 수 있었다.

뇌수술환자에서 두부상승체위가 중심정맥압과 두개강내압에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Backrest Position on Central Venous Pressure and Intracranial Pressure in Brain Surgery Patients)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the effects of backrest elevation of 0 degree and 30 degrees that minimize the risk of increasing ICP when CVP is measured. Methods: Subjects were sixty-four patients who stayed in the neurosurgical intensive care unit after brain surgery at two university-based hospitals. CVP, blood pressure, heart rate and ICP were measured along with position changes in order of backrest position with primary 30 degrees backrest position, 0 degree backrest position and secondary 30 degrees backrest position. For data analysis, one-group, repeated-measures analysis of variance design was used in SAS program. Results: Backrest elevations from 0 degree to 30 degrees did not alter the CVP without increasing the ICP. Therefore, 30 degrees backrest position is a preventive position without increasing ICP. Conclusion: 30 degrees backrest position might be appropriate for brain injury patients when CVP is measured.

CARS 측정 기술을 이용한 스파크 점화 기관에서의 화염 전 화학 반응에 의한 온도 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Temperature Elevation Due to the Pre-flame Reaction in a Spark-Ignition Engine Using CARS Technique)

  • End-gas temperatures were measured using CARS technique in a conventional DOHC spark- ignition engine fueled with PRF80. The measured pressure data were analyzed using band pass filter method. The measured CARS temperatures were compared with adiabatic core temperatures calculated from measured pressures. Significant heating by pre-flame reaction in the end gas zone was observed in the late part of compression stroke under both knocking and non-knocking conditions. CARS temperatures measured at 10 crank angle degree before knock occurrence was higher than adiabatic core temperatures. These results indicate that there exist some exothermic reactions in low pressure and temperature region. CARS temperatures began to be higher than the adiabatic core temperature when the end-gas temperatures reached look. The temperature elevation due to the pre-flame reaction correlated better with CARS temperature than with cylinder pressure.

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷 상에서 비디오 스트림을 서비스할 때 인기도에 기반으로하는 서비스 지연시간을 최소화하는 방법을 제안하였다. 접근 빈도와 각 서버들의 총 캐슁공간의 상관관계를 고려하여 제안한 알고리즘의 성능을 측정한 결과는 에이전트 캐슁방법보다는 서비스 지연에 대한 캐쉬 활용율이 15%의 향상 그리고 인터벌 캐슁보다는 3배의 정도의 성능 향상을 보여주었다.

  • Even though official G/T for KOMPSAT-2 X-Band downlink acquisition was 32dB/K, KARI performed the data acquisition experiment using 2Am X-Band antenna to check if popular 2Am MODIS receiving antenna can receive KOMPSAT-2 MSC data within acceptable quality level. Through several acquisition tests, it was shown that G/T value of 24dB/K can provide the reliable data BER quality, 10-6 for the above the elevation angle of 10 degree. Some plots for Eb/No versus elevation angle are provided.

밀착형 외측 쐐기 스트랩 깔창의 높이에 따라 대퇴경골각에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Femorotibial Angle of Contact laterally Wedged Insoles With Strapping of varying elevations)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the radiographic effects of normal person with contact laterally wedged insoles with strapping of varying elevations. Eight person who were randomized into group according to their birth dates and wedge elevation, participants wore contact laterally wedged insoles with strapping with elevation of 9, 15, 21mm. Standing radiographs were used to analyze the femorotibial angle for each subject, The result of repeated measures ANOVA's reveled that laterally wedged insoles with strapping of varying elevations produced significantly the femorotibial angle. The degree of change in femorotibial angle with the insole with strapping was effected by the tilt of the lateral wedge(P<0.05). We suggest that these results may be beneficial for manufacturing foot orthotic devices, such as wedged insoles, to control medial and later compartment forces in the knee varus-valgus deformity.

  • Helicopter dynamics are plenty of nonlinearity. A complete mathematical model including propeller dynamics and fortes generated by the propellers is very difficult to obtain. So the method used to design to design a controller is a parameter estimation. Design controller based on variable structure system. This paper deals with LQR control technique to control efficiently, its elevation angle and azimuth one. The purpose of the experiment is to design a controller allows to use a desired elevation angle and azimuth ones. The system model has a helicopter model with 2-degree-of freedom. The simulation results were verified usefulness of controller.
