An acceptance sampling plan for products manufactured from a production process with variable fraction defective is developed. We consider a situation where defective products have short lifetimes and non-defective ones never fail during the technological life of the products. An acceptance criterion which guarantee the out going quality of accepted products is derived using the prior information on the quality of products. Numerical examples are provided.

In this paper, we address a design problem and a case study of a K-stage back-light-unit(BLU) inspection system, which is composed of K stages, each of which includes an inspection process and a rework process. Assuming the type I, II errors and the inspection-free policy for items classified as good, we determine the smallest integer of K which can achieve a given target defective rate. If K does not exist, holding the current values of the type I, II errors, we search reversely the defective rate of an assembly line and the defective rate of a rework process, to meet the target defective rate. Our formulae and methodology based on a K-stage inspection system could be applied and extended to similar situations with slight modification.

This study gives the quality factor evaluation of rubber gloves manufacturing, including a systematic classification of poor durability(internal quality factors) and look bad(external quality factors) as well as the types of defective items, along with the relationship between quality factors and the defective types. The relationship analysis between quality factors and the defective types are performed with AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique. The results of our study will be useful for quality management activities and manufacturing process in rubber gloves manufacturing companies.

This study is concerned with the reduction of fraction defective for quality improvement model in manufacturing system. For the methodology, a heuristic method for the selection of alternatives of process improvement is introduced for quality improvement and cost problem subject to cost constraints. This study suggests a model for selecting fraction defective reduction alternatives in multi-stage manufacturing system and a numerical example is presented.

우리나라 주택유형 가운데 대부분을 차지하는 공동주택은 급격한 도시화가 진행됐던 과거, 공급위주에서 소비물량의 한계에 직면하며 수요중심으로 전환되었다. 따라서 주택품질에 대한 소비자의 요구도는 다양화 다변화되고 있으며, 이를 충족시키기 위해서는 건설단계에부터 하자 예방을 위한 효율적이고 체계적인 품질관리가 요구된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공동주택 하자의 효율적이고 체계적인 관리를 위해 최근 5년 이내 입주가 완료된 공동주택 사례를 대상으로 발생빈도 및 하자보수 손실비용 분석과 거주자 만족도조사를 실시하여 보정 및 수치화에 의한 정량적 공동주택 하자 위험성 평가표를 구축 제시하였다.

Products are assumed to be spoiled and not recoverable when the raw material below the prescribed weight level is charged in the mold. The raw material is autoscaled and their weight is normally distributed with a given variance. This paper describes an appropriate stochastic model of determining the optimum weight allowance and the associated defective rate for auto scale system. The optimum weight allowance and the defective rate which minimizes the total loss of defective and the excess weight allowance is obtained. A numerical example for the existing rubber company is also presented and evaluated.

Subsequently in Korea product liability has been introduced. The position of consumers for defective products have been disadvantageous. Defective products should be broght under the law. Then, while consumers would be largely protected, a producer would take the heavy responsibility by law, Therefore, a producer would not be able to take countermeasures for product liability. Object of this paper to investigate and analyze the actual state of management for product liability in advanced countries, and to join it with our quality management system.

The research proposes the hypergeometric, binomial and Poisson yield models for defective and defect. The paper also presents the hypothesis test, confidence interval and control charts for DPU(Defect Per Unit) and DPO(Defect Per Opportunity). Especially the study considers the analysis of compound Poisson yield models using various DOU density distributions.

A Bayesian burn-in procedure is developed for imited failure populations in which defective items fail soon after they are put in operation and non-defective ones never fail during he technical life of the items. Sequential schemes guaranteeing pre-specified outgoing quality of a product are derived based on prior information on the quality of a product and accumulated failure information up to the decision point. A numerical example is also provided.

An algorithm for the minimum total process percent defective under marginal costs is presented. Initial process is single series system, which is constructed by k process units, and each process is considered priority. Minimum of total process percent defective for parallel-series system exists when additional process setup costs are larger than marginal costs.
