The rail transport system is developing into a smart railroad that pursues intelligence beyond the automation stage of each component in recent years. Smart railways based on ICT (: Information & Communications Technology) technologies such as IoT (: Internet of Things), big data, deep learning, AI (: Artificial Intelligence), and block chain are expected to cause many developmental changes in domestic and foreign railway technologies. In this paper, we look at the domestic and international standardization trends of railway communication technology, which forms the basis of such smart railway system, and discuss the direction for train control technology(CBTC) in Korea's railway transportation system to become a leading technology(UBTC) in the world railway industry in the future.

A novel smart metering technique capable of anomaly detection was proposed for real-time home power management system. Smart meter data generated in real-time were obtained from 900 households of single apartments. To detect outliers and missing values in smart meter data, a deep learning model, the autoencoder, consisting of a graph convolutional network and bidirectional long short-term memory network, was applied to the smart metering technique. Power management based on the smart metering technique was executed by multi-objective optimization in the presence of a battery storage system and an electric vehicle. The results of the power management employing the proposed smart metering technique indicate a reduction in electricity cost and amount of power supplied by the grid compared to the results of power management without anomaly detection.

The recognition system of autonomous driving and robot navigation performs vision work such as object recognition, tracking, and lane detection after multi-sensor fusion to improve performance. Currently, research on a deep learning model based on the fusion of a camera and a lidar sensor is being actively conducted. However, deep learning models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks through modulation of input data. Attacks on the existing multi-sensor-based autonomous driving recognition system are focused on inducing obstacle detection by lowering the confidence score of the object recognition model. However, there is a limitation that an attack is possible only in the target model. In the case of attacks on the sensor fusion stage, errors in vision work after fusion can be cascaded, and this risk needs to be considered. In addition, an attack on LIDAR's point cloud data, which is difficult to judge visually, makes it difficult to determine whether it is an attack. In this study, image scaling-based camera-lidar We propose an attack method that reduces the accuracy of LCCNet, a fusion model (camera-LiDAR calibration model). The proposed method is to perform a scaling attack on the point of the input lidar. As a result of conducting an attack performance experiment by size with a scaling algorithm, an average of more than 77% of fusion errors were caused.

We introduce a vision-based object detection method for real-time video surveillance system in low-end edge computing environments. Recently, the accuracy of object detection has been improved due to the performance of approaches based on deep learning algorithm such as Region Convolutional Neural Network(R-CNN) which has two stage for inferencing. On the other hand, one stage detection algorithms such as single-shot detection (SSD) and you only look once (YOLO) have been developed at the expense of some accuracy and can be used for real-time systems. However, high-performance hardware such as General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Unit(GPGPU) is required to still achieve excellent object detection performance and speed. To address hardware requirement that is burdensome to low-end edge computing environments, We propose sub-frame analysis method for the object detection. In specific, We divide a whole image frame into smaller ones then inference them on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based image detection network, which is much faster than conventional network designed forfull frame image. We reduced its computationalrequirementsignificantly without losing throughput and object detection accuracy with the proposed method.
Many security systems rely solely on solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, which are weak in nature. These security solutions can be easily manipulated by malicious users who can gain unlawful access. Some security systems suggest using fingerprint-based solutions, but they can be easily deceived by copying fingerprints with clay. Image-based security is undoubtedly easy to manipulate, but it is also a solution that does not require any special training on the part of the user. In this paper, we propose a multi-factor security framework that operates in a three-step process to authenticate the user. The motivation of the research lies in utilizing commonly available and inexpensive devices such as onsite CCTV cameras and smartphone camera and providing fully secure user authentication. We have used technologies such as Argon2 for hashing image features and physically unclonable identification for secure device-server communication. We also discuss the methodological workflow of the proposed multi-factor authentication framework. In addition, we present the service scenario of the proposed model. Finally, we analyze qualitatively the proposed model and compare it with state-of-the-art methods to evaluate the usability of the model in real-world applications.
This study aimed to provide a solution for improving ship collision alert of the 'accident vulnerable ship monitoring service' among the 'intelligent marine traffic information system' services of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The current ship collision alert uses a supervised learning (SL) model with survey labels based on large ship-oriented data and its operators. Consequently, the small ship data and the operator's opinion are not reflected in the current collision-supervised learning model, and the effect is insufficient because the alarm is provided from a longer distance than the small ship operator feels. In addition, the supervised learning (SL) method requires a large number of labeled data, and the labeling process requires a lot of resources and time. To overcome these limitations, in this paper, the classification model of collision alerts for small ships using unlabeled data with the semi-supervised learning (SSL) algorithms (Label Propagation and TabNet) was studied. Results of real-time experiments on small ship operators using the classification model of collision alerts showed that the satisfaction of operators increased.
Due to the high dependence on electric energy, electric fires make up a significant portion of fires in Korea. Electric arcs by short circuits or poor contact cause three of four electrical fires. An electric arc is a discharge phenomenon of electrical current between the insulators, which instantaneously produces high temperature. In order to reduce the fire due to electric arc, this study aims to predict the electric arc risk. We collected arc data from the arc detectors and converted into graphs based on temporal arc data. We used machine learning for training converted graph with different number of temporal arc data. To measure the performance of the learning model, we use the test data. In the results, when the number of temporal arc data was 20, the prediction rate was high as 86%.

There are many CCTV cameras connected to the video surveillance and monitoring center for the safety of citizens, and it is difficult for a few monitoring agents to monitor many channels of videos. In this paper, we propose an intelligent video surveillance system utilizing a safety map to efficiently monitor many channels of CCTV camera videos. The safety map establishes the frequency of crime occurrence as a database, expresses the degree of crime risk and makes it possible for agents of the video surveillance center to pay attention when a woman enters the crime risk area. The proposed gender classification method is processed in the order of pedestrian detection, tracking and classification with deep training. The pedestrian detection and tracking uses Adaboost algorithm and probabilistic data association filter, respectively. In order to classify the gender of the pedestrian, relatively simple AlexNet is applied to determine gender. Experimental results show that the proposed gender classification method is more effective than the conventional algorithm. In addition, the results of implementation of intelligent video security system combined with safety map are introduced.

Recently, a number of researchers have produced research and reports in order to forecast more exactly air quality such as particulate matter and odor. However, such research mainly focuses on the atmospheric diffusion models that have been used for the air quality prediction in environmental engineering area. Even though it has various merits, it has some limitation in that it uses very limited spatial attributes such as geographical attributes. Thus, we propose the new approach to forecast an air quality using a deep learning based ensemble model combining temporal and spatial predictor. The temporal predictor employs the RNN LSTM and the spatial predictor is based on the geographically weighted regression model. The ensemble model also uses the RNN LSTM that combines two models with stacking structure. The ensemble model is capable of inferring the air quality of the areas without air quality monitoring station, and even forecasting future air quality. We installed the IoT sensors measuring PM2.5, PM10, H2S, NH3, VOC at the 8 stations in Jeonju in order to gather air quality data. The numerical results showed that our new model has very exact prediction capability with comparison to the real measured data. It implies that the spatial attributes should be considered to more exact air quality prediction.
Data anomalies seriously threaten the reliability of the bridge structural health monitoring system and may trigger system misjudgment. To overcome the above problem, an efficient and accurate data anomaly detection method is desiderated. Traditional anomaly detection methods extract various abnormal features as the key indicators to identify data anomalies. Then set thresholds artificially for various features to identify specific anomalies, which is the artificial experience method. However, limited by the poor generalization ability among sensors, this method often leads to high labor costs. Another approach to anomaly detection is a data-driven approach based on machine learning methods. Among these, the bidirectional long-short memory neural network (BiLSTM), as an effective classification method, excels at finding complex relationships in multivariate time series data. However, training unprocessed original signals often leads to low computation efficiency and poor convergence, for lacking appropriate feature selection. Therefore, this article combines the advantages of the two methods by proposing a deep learning method with manual experience statistical features fed into it. Experimental comparative studies illustrate that the BiLSTM model with appropriate feature input has an accuracy rate of over 87-94%. Meanwhile, this paper provides basic principles of data cleaning and discusses the typical features of various anomalies. Furthermore, the optimization strategies of the feature space selection based on artificial experience are also highlighted.
