An Automatic Parking Space Identification System using Deep Learning Techniques (딥러닝 기법을 이용한 주차 공간 자동 식별 시스템)

  • In this paper, we describe a parking space identification system that can automatically identify empty parking lot spaces from a parking lot photo. This system is based on a deep learning technique, and the accuracy of the identification result is good by learning various existing parking lot images. It could be applied to the existing parking management system. This system was also developed as a smartphone application for easy testing. Therefore, if you take a picture of a parking lot through a smartphone camera, the captured image is automatically recognized and an empty parking space can be automatically identified.

  • Automatic identification of disease in plants from their leaves is one of the most challenging task to researchers. Diseases among plants degrade their performance and results into a huge reduction of agricultural products. Therefore, early and accurate diagnosis of such disease is of the utmost importance. The advancement in deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has change the way of processing images as compared to traditional image processing techniques. Deep learning architectures are composed of multiple processing layers that learn the representations of data with multiple levels of abstraction. Therefore, proved highly effective in comparison to many state-of-the-art works. In this paper, we present a plant disease identification methodology from their leaves using deep CNNs. For this, we have adopted GoogLeNet that is considered a powerful architecture of deep learning to identify the disease types. Transfer learning has been used to fine tune the pre-trained model. An accuracy of 85.04% has been recorded in the identification of four disease class in Apple plant leaves. Finally, a comparison with other models has been performed to show the effectiveness of the approach.

Gait Type Classification Using Multi-modal Ensemble Deep Learning Network

  • This paper proposes a system for classifying gait types using an ensemble deep learning network for gait data measured by a smart insole equipped with multi-sensors. The gait type classification system consists of a part for normalizing the data measured by the insole, a part for extracting gait features using a deep learning network, and a part for classifying the gait type by inputting the extracted features. Two kinds of gait feature maps were extracted by independently learning networks based on CNNs and LSTMs with different characteristics. The final ensemble network classification results were obtained by combining the classification results. For the seven types of gait for adults in their 20s and 30s: walking, running, fast walking, going up and down stairs, and going up and down hills, multi-sensor data was classified into a proposed ensemble network. As a result, it was confirmed that the classification rate was higher than 90%.

Development of surface detection model for dried semi-finished product of Kimbukak using deep learning (딥러닝 기반 김부각 건조 반제품 표면 검출 모델 개발)

  • This study developed a deep learning model that distinguishes the front (with garnish) and the back (without garnish) surface of the dried semi-finished product (dried bukak) for screening operation before transfter the dried bukak to oil heater using robot's vacuum gripper. For deep learning model training and verification, RGB images for the front and back surfaces of 400 dry bukak that treated by data preproccessing were obtained. YOLO-v5 was used as a base structure of deep learning model. The area, surface information labeling, and data augmentation techniques were applied from the acquired image. Parameters including mAP, mIoU, accumulation, recall, decision, and F1-score were selected to evaluate the performance of the developed YOLO-v5 deep learning model-based surface detection model. The mAP and mIoU on the front surface were 0.98 and 0.96, respectively, and on the back surface, they were 1.00 and 0.95, respectively. The results of binary classification for the two front and back classes were average 98.5%, recall 98.3%, decision 98.6%, and F1-score 98.4%. As a result, the developed model can classify the surface information of the dried bukak using RGB images, and it can be used to develop a robot-automated system for the surface detection process of the dried bukak before deep frying.

  • This paper designed and developed the image processing system of integrating feature extraction and matching by using convolutional neural network (CNN), rather than relying on the simple method of processing feature extraction and matching separately in the image processing of conventional image recognition system. To implement it, the proposed system enables CNN to operate and analyze the performance of conventional image processing system. This system extracts the features of an image using CNN and then learns them by the neural network. The proposed system showed 84% accuracy of recognition. The proposed system is a model of recognizing learned images by deep learning. Therefore, it can run in batch and work easily under any platform (including embedded platform) that can read all kinds of files anytime. Also, it does not require the implementing of feature extraction algorithm and matching algorithm therefore it can save time and it is efficient. As a result, it can be widely used as an image recognition program.

Customization using Anthropometric Data Deep Learning Model-Based Beauty Service System

  • As interest in beauty has increased, various studies have been conducted, and related companies have considered the anthropometric data handled between humans and interfaces as an important factor. However, owing to the nature of 3D human body scanners used to extract anthropometric data, it is difficult to accurately analyze a user's body shape until a service is provided because the user only scans and extracts data. To solve this problem, the body shape of several users was analyzed, and the collected anthropometric data were obtained using a 3D human body scanner. After processing the extracted data and the anthropometric data, a custom deep learning model was designed, the designed model was learned, and the user's body shape information was predicted to provide a service suitable for the body shape. Through this approach, it is expected that the user's body shape information can be predicted using a 3D human body scanner, based upon which a beauty service can be provide.

  • This paper proposes a big data sentiment analysis method and deep learning implementation method to provide a webtoon comment analysis web page for convenient comment confirmation and feedback of webtoon writers for the development of the cartoon industry in the video animation field. In order to solve the difficulty of automatic analysis due to the nature of Internet comments and provide various sentiment analysis information, LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) algorithm, ranking algorithm, and word2vec algorithm are applied in parallel, and actual popular works are used to verify the validity. If the analysis method of this paper is used, it is easy to expand to other domestic and overseas platforms, and it is expected that it can be used in various video animation content fields, not limited to the webtoon field

  • We propose a fall recognition system using a deep learning algorithm using motion data acquired by a Doppler radar sensor. Among the deep learning algorithms, an RNN that has an advantage in time series data is used to recognize falls. The fall data of the Doppler radar sensor has a temporal characteristic as time series data, and the structure of the RNN is sequenced because the result only determines whether a fall or not It is designed in a structure that outputs a fixed size to the input.

  • The most powerful and modern face recognition techniques are using deep learning methods that have provided impressive performance. The outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia has spread worldwide, and people have begun to wear a face mask to prevent the spread of the virus, which has led existing face recognition methods to fail to identify people. Mainly, it pushes masked face recognition has become one of the most challenging problems in the face recognition domain. However, deep learning methods require numerous data samples, and it is challenging to find benchmarks of masked face datasets available to the public. In this work, we develop a new simulated masked face dataset that we can use for masked face recognition tasks. To evaluate the usability of the proposed dataset, we also retrained the dataset with ArcFace based system, which is one the most popular state-of-the-art face recognition methods.
