A knowledge Conversion Tool for Expert Systems

  • Most of expert systems use the text-oriented knowledge bases. However, knowledge management using the knowledge bases is considered as a huge burden to the knowledge workers because it includes some troublesome works. It includes chasing and/or checking activities on Consistency, Redundancy, Circulation, and Refinement of the knowledge. In those cases, we consider that they could reduce the burdens by using relational database management systems-based knowledge management infrastructure and convert the knowledge into one of easy forms human can understand. Furthermore they could concentrate on the knowledge itself with the support of the systems. To meet the expectations, in this study, we have tried to develop a general-purposed knowledge conversion tool for expert systems. Especially, this study is focused on the knowledge conversions among text-oriented knowledge base, relational database knowledge base, and decision tree.

Practical Approach for Pavement Treatment Decisions for Local Agencies

  • Most local agencies such as counties and small cities continuously express difficulties in making technically and financially defensible decisions on their pavement infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation. Unlike pavement systems managed by state highway agencies, the total lane-miles of many local pavements are significantly short and they are managed by a limited number of staff who typically have multiple responsibilities. Most local agencies also do not have historical pavement performance data and the lack of a systematic decision making framework exacerbates the problem. A structured framework and an easily accessible decision support tool that reflects their local requirements, practices and operational conditions would greatly assist them in making consistent and defensible decisions. This study fills this gap by developing a systematic pavement treatment selection framework and a spreadsheet based tool for local agencies. It is expected that the proposed framework will significantly help local agencies to improve their pavement asset management practices at the project level.

  • Conflicts and interruptions caused by resource failures and rush orders require a nonlinear dynamic production management. Generally the PP&C systems used in industry presently do not meet these requirements because of their rigid concepts. Starting with the grasp of the disadvantages of current approaches, this paper presents a control structure that enables system to react to various malfunctions using a planning tolerance concept. Also, production processes are modeled by using Fuzzy-Petri-Net modeling tool in other to handle the complexity of job allocation and the existence of many disparities. On the basis of this model the developed system support the short-term shop control by rule based decision.

  • In the development of executive information systems (EIS) the selection of an appropriate software package as a system building tool is regarded as a key technology. This paper attempts to shed some light on the evolving field of EIS software packages and provides a helpful Guideline for selecting the most suitable product by addressing significant considerations. A framework is presented that includes a six-step evaluation process: need analysis, team building, vendor survey, identification of decision criteria, and building an evaluation model and its verification. The major evaluation criteria of the full-featured software include: special functionality, reporting, graphics. decision support capability user friendliness, general functionality physical requirements, communication linkage, vendor support, cost related factors, performance, and documentation capability. An illustrative model using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method is also discussed to prove the appropriateness of our approach.

  • In this research, we investigate the method to support decision making of researcher when they estimate the safety on the subway using AHP of Saaty. To apply this technique, we apply to subway system. The AHP suggested by Saaty in 1971 is a tool to support a decision-making including the personal opinion and intuition, and it is easier than other method. Then, it has an advantage that control the complex object having multiple criteria simply. And we suggest the eight stage of accident type and the five criteria that must meet. Based on AHP, we concluded a safety in subway is more important factor than any other factors including economic points of view.

연속강하운용을 이용한 궤적 기반의 항공기 도착 관리 효과 분석 연구 (A Study on Effect Analysis of Trajectory-Based Arrival Management using Continuous Descent Operations)

  • In this study, we propose trajectory-based arrival management using CDO (Continuos Descent Operations). The operational procedures with TBO (Trajectory-Based Operations) concept were established to allow aircraft and ground system to share the trajectories with each other in real time. The proposed operational concept was validated in the air traffic control simulation environment, which consists of controller working position, pseudo pilot system, air traffic generation system, and controllers' decision support system for arrival management using CDO. Simulation results compared with actual flight data indicate that proposed concept could improve the efficiency of traffic flow management in terms of total descending time and fuel consumption. And it was confirmed that if there is a system that can share and utilize the synchronized trajectory, it can be helpful to control arrival aircraft and apply CDO concept.

  • Information on the energy consumption of buildings that can be obtained through conventional methods is limited. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model that can support decision making about building facility management through digital transformation technologies. Through the IoT sensor, the building's energy data and indoor air quality data are collected, and the monitored data is visualized through the ELK Stack and produced as a dashboard. In addition, the target building is photographed with a 360-degree camera and maps using a tool to create a 360-degree tour. Using such digital transformation technologies, users of buildings can obtain various information in real time without visiting buildings directly. This can lead to changes in actions or actions for building management, supporting facility management decisions, and consequently reducing building energy consumption.

  • The information with regard to the working range of lathe, cutting tool, cutting condition is managed as Database system for turning operation as one part of CAM system. Data with regard to the working range of lathe, cutting tool, cutting condition are stored by the DBMS(Data Base Management System) and can be added, modified, deleted and retrieved for realtime usages. Data stored in Database system are searched to select the most proper cutting tool and cutting condition with the input data fed from the design stage. Codes in regards to tool shape are displayed on graphic mode for easy selection for user and thus presents a good decision support for tool selection. The system developed in this work is operated by the pull down menu on the IBM PC/AT personal computer, or compatible series.

특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지가 진로결정수준에 미치는 영향 : 회복탄력성의 매개효과 (The Effect of Parent Support of Specialized Technical High School Students on the Level of Career Decision : Mediating effect of resilience)

  • 이 연구는 특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지와 진로결정수준의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 검증함으로써 가정과 학교가 연계된 바람직한 진로지도 상담의 기초자료를 제공하여 수준을 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구문제로는 첫째, 특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지, 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성의 수준은 어떠한가, 둘째, 특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지, 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성의 관계는 어떠한가, 셋째, 특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지와 진로결정수준의 관계에서 회복탄력성은 매개변인의 역할을 하는가로 설정하여 구명하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 특성화고등학교 학생의 부모지지, 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성에 관련된 이론적 배경을 고찰하여 검사도구를 제작하였다. 설문지는 개인특성(1문항), 부모지지(22문항), 진로결정수준(22문항), 회복탄력성(27문항)으로 총 70문항으로 구성하였으며, 전국 공업계열 특성화고등학교 학생 850명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 무응답이나 불성실한 응답의 설문지를 제외한 689부를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 학년별 부모지지, 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성은 모두 유의한 차이가 없었으며 각각 보통수준을 나타냈다. 또한 부모지지, 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성 모두 높은 상관관계를 나타냈다. 하위요인별로는 부모지지와 진로결정수준, 회복탄력성과 진로결정수준이 높은 상관관계를 보였으며, 부모지지의 하위요인 중 정서적 지지와 언어적 격려가 진로결정수준에 50%이상의 설명력을 보였다. 매개효과 측면으로는 부모지지가 진로결정수준에 미치는 영향에 대해서 회복탄력성 전체와 하위요인인 통제성, 긍정성, 사회성이 모두 부분매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 진로지도상담의 질적 향상을 위해서는 가정적요인과 학생 내적요인을 모두 고려한 학교와 가정이 연계된 프로그램이 진행되어야 하며 특히 정서적, 언어적인 측면을 활용하여 학년이 올라갈수록 긍정적인 부모지지와 회복탄력성을 형성할 수 있는 교육이 선행되어야 할 것이다.

계층분석법 기반의 기초공법 선정 의사결정지원시스템 (An Analytic Hierarchy Process based Decision Support System for Selecting Foundation Practice)

  • 도심지 건설 프로젝트에서 적정한 기초공법을 선정하는 것은 매우 중요한 의사결정 중 하나이다. 그러나 아직도 적지 않은 프로젝트에서 단순히 과거의 경험이나 숙련된 기술자의 의견에 기초하여 기초공법을 선정하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기초공법결정과정을 보다 선진화하기 위해 계층분석법(Analytic Hierarchy Process; AHP)과 선호도함수(Preference Function; PF)를 이용하여 적정 기초공법을 선정하는 의사결정지원시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서 계층분석법은 평가기준 간의 상대적 중요도를 반영하기 위해, 또한 선호도함수는 의사결정자의 기초공법 적합도에 대한 선호도를 고려하기 위해 이용된다. 제안된 의사결정지원시스템을 기 수행된 프로젝트 사례에 적용해본 결과, 시스템이 도출한 기초공법과 전문가들이 현장에 대한 면밀한 검토 후 선정한 기초공법이 동일함을 알 수 있었다. 제안된 의사결정지원시스템은 건설현장에서 최적의 기초공법을 선정하기 위한 의사결정 시 매우 유용한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
