평다이를 사용한 편심 압출가공에서의 비유동 영역의 형상과 굽힘 속도 분포에 관한 상계해석 (An Upper Bound Analysis of the Shapes of the Dead Metal Zone and the Curving Velocity Distribution in Eccentric Plane Dies Extrusion)

  • The kinematically admissible veolcity field is developed for the shapes of dead metal zone and the curving velocity distribution in the eccentric plane dies extrusion. The shape of dead metal zone is defined as the boundary surface with the maximum friction constant between the deformable zone and the rigid zone. The curving phenomenon in the eccentric lane dies is caused by the eccentricity of plane dies. The axial velocity distribution in the plane dies is divided in to the uniform velocity and the deviated velocity. The deviated velocity is linearly changed with the distance from the center of cross-section of the workpiece. The results show that the curvature of products and the shapes of the dead metal one are determined by the minimization of the plastic work and that the curvature of the extruded products increase with the eccentricity.

The results show that the curving of products and the shapes of the dead metal zone are determined by Rigid Plasticity Finite Element Analysis and that the curvature of the extruded products increases with the eccentricity.

유동제어를 통한 자동차용 피스톤-펀의 공정설계 (Process Design of Piston-Pin for Automobile by the Flow Control)

  • Flow defect of a piston-pin for automobile parts is investigated in this study. In combined cold extrusion of piston-pin, lapping defect, which is a kind of flow defect, appears by the dead metal zone. This appearance evidently happens in products with a thin thickness to be pierced for the dimensional accuracy and the decrease of material loss. The flow defect that occurs in piston-pin has bad effects on the strength and the fatigue life of piston-pin. Therefore, it is important to predict and prevent defects in the early stage of process design. The best method that can prevent flow defect is removing or reducing dead metal zone through material flow control. The finite element simulations are applied to analyze the flow defect. This study proposes processes for preventing flow defect by removing dead metal zone. Then the results are compared with the experimental ones for verification. These FE simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.

  • 본 연구에서는 상계해법을 이용하여 축대칭 후방압출에 있어서 압출하중뿐 아니라 소성변형역의 형상 및 비유동영역(dead metal zone)까지 에측이 가능한 단순하고 체계적인 이론해석법을 제안하고 이에 대한 실험을 수행하여 확인해 보고자 한다.

  • 최근 급속히 발전하고 있는 RFID 기술의 대표적인 이용 사례로는 항만에서의 사용을 들 수 있다. 실제로 미국 및 유럽의 항만에서는 넓은 작업장에 산재한 컨테이너와 각종 장비들에 433MHz 능동형 태그를 부착하고, 이를 기반으로 게이트 자동화, 컨테이너 선적 및 하역의 자동화, 각종 장비의 위치 파악 및 관리를 수행하고 있다. 그러나, 완전한 자동화를 위해서는 해결해야 할 문제가 있다. RFID 통신의 기본 구조는 리더가 자신의 통신 범위 안에 있는 태그와 직접 통신만을 할 수 있는데, 항만에서는 금속성의 컨테이너와 각종 장비들에 의한 전파 방해 때문에 음영지역(dead-zone)이 발생하여 모든 태그의 정보를 완벽히 수집하지 못하는 경우가 있을 수 있다. 음영지역 문제는 몇 가지 방법으로 해결 가능하지만, 본 논문에서는 그 중 가장 경제적인, RFID 태그간의 다중 홉(multi-hop) 통신을 이용한 방법을 제안한다. 기존에 지원되지 않던 태그간의 다중 홉 통신이 기존의 통신 구조와 병립되어 서비스되기 위해 필요한 새로운 통신 구조를 자세히 살펴볼 것이다.

The finite element simulations are applied to analyse the flow defect, then the results are compared with the plasticine model material experiments. Finally, the model experiment results are in good agreement with the FE simulation ones.

알루미늄 7075 복합압출재에 대한 공정해석 및 설계 (Analysis and Design of a Forming Porcess for Combined Extrusion with Aluminum AIIoy 7075)

  • A Combined extrusion operation consists of forward and backward extrusion forming and it is possible to make the process be simple by employing it. But the metal flow pattern induced by the operation is hard to analyze accurately because the flows are non-steady, which have at least two directions dependent upon each other. So engineers in the industrial factories had conducted the two extrusion operations separately. A new process was designed by the industrial expert for forming of an alu-minum preform using the combined extrusion operation. In this study, experiments and finite element analysis was carried out to determine the process parameters. Through the preliminary experiment, it was shown that warm forming condition was more desirable than cold or hot ones. And optimal shape of initial billet could be also determined. From the compatibility test, bonde-lube was chosen as the optimal lubricant and 20$0^{\circ}C$ as the material temperature by the inspection of micro-structure. The operation was simulated by the rigid-plastic finite element method to examine the metal flow. Disap-pearing of dead metal zone was observed as the punch fell down and desirable shape was obtained from the one operation. As a result of this study, 7 operations could be reduced and 225% of material saved.
