The purpose of this study is to analyze cooperative relationship and information needs using the interlibrary loan (ILL) service data of the academic libraries. This study interprets the ILL service data as information source that including unsolved information problems. Also, this study normalizes the ILL service data using the collaboration index. The results of this study have three aspects. First, col hs-index can be useful tool for analyzing ILL service relationship between different sizes of libraries. Second, this study find out the information needs and the collection characteristics of each library after analyzing ILL data by subjects. Third, by applying col hs-index, we could analysis more objective ILL data and found out possibility of bibliographic index.

Regional representative libraries are installing joint preservation archives to solve the problem of lack of preservation space in libraries. This study conducted a survey of public library librarians through a questionnaire survey and an FGI method in order to prepare specific operational policies and implementation plans for the Chungnam Library Joint Preservation Archive, which is a regional representative library. Based on this, an operation policy and implementation plan suitable for the common preservation and use of printed and digital data, which is the goal of the Common Preservation Archive, was proposed. As a result of the study, first, the joint preservation library of the Chungnam Library should first transfer books and serials along with ownership in consideration of the condition and demand of the preservation space of participating libraries. Second, it is necessary to establish an operation management system that can be used by all participating libraries in order to quickly and conveniently operate the joint preservation data center and connect it with a cloud-based integrated data management system. Third, a plan for digitizing and archiving data that was judged to be digitized in the Common Preservation Archive was proposed.

Today's complicated society with a rapid change needs more objective and accurate data for the better managerical decisions and the prospect for the future other than the intuition or subjective experience by men themselves. These data can't be extracted without the analysis of actual data by a n.0, pplying any of mathematical techniques. One of these mathematical techniques, called bibliometrics has been newly developed in the field of library and information science to extract the objective data for the better services through the library operations. The Beadford's Law, one important law in bibliometrics has provided rather scientific and objective basis on the more valid building of library collection within the constraints of budget. The purpose of the study is to investigate the theory of the Bradford's Law, to clarify the possible areas of its a n.0, pplication, and to discern some problems in doing so. The results of the study can be summarized as follows; (1) There is certain difference between the graphical formulation and verbal formulation of Bradford's Law. But this law is very useful for the field of library and information science, owing to the flexibility of the a n.0, pplication of the law in the field. (2) The minimal nucleus can consist of a single periodical only if j, the number of relevant papers in the most productive journals is greater than Z/2. On the other hand, if j is less than or equal to Z/2, then the minimal nucleus will consist of 2 or more periodicals. (3) It is possible to design the most compact selection of scientific periodicals covering any specified percentage P among the total periodicals by using the formulation, log n=Plog N+(1-P)logs, or Nlog N/s=P center dot N log N/s. (4) If there is need to provide all the articles needed by users the given budget, the library can purchase the proper number of journals, by using the formulation, f center dot AN=An+PN (log N/s-logn/s). (5) In the building of the library collection based on the decreasing ratio of use, the library can subscribe to the proper number of journals according to the satisfactory degree of the need, by using the formulation, f=Nu+uNlogN/S-uNlogn/s / nNlogN/s = 1+logN/m /logN/s (6) If the order of valuable journals is decided according to the frequency of being cited, the order can't always represent the value. (7) The evaluation criteria for the journals with high value, but less cited should be made a further study.

This study tries to develop the so-called LCSI (Library Customer Satisfaction Index) Lite for public library which can be used easily in the fields as a simplified model. Its conceptual model is developed from the former research about library service quality and customer satisfaction. Based on the analyses on the twenty Delphi-type AHP questionnaires both from the library researchers and from the public library practitioners, and on the analysis and testing of the structural equation model using the data from the more than 800 user questionnaires, it suggests a model which consists of total 15 items - namely 8 items for service quality (2 for personnel, 4 for library resources and services, 2 for facilities and environment), 3 items for customer satisfaction, and 2 items for loyalty. Library Satisfaction Index for public library will be calculated by the sum total of service quality (50%), customer satisfaction (40%), and loyalty (10%).

To investigate the impact of the school libraries use experiences on the academic library anxiety among the freshmen of academy, A university's freshmen who had used the academic library were sampled systematically and surveyed. Data collected from 445 freshmen were analyzed using the frequency analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis through the independents; sex, locations of schools, manager of schools, use education, library use, library aided instruction and compared with the previous studies. Library anxiety was also differed according to the locations of schools, managers of schools, library use, use education, library aided instruction. Based on the results, some recommendations were suggested to reduce the library anxiety of freshmen in academic libraries.

The purpose of this study is identify factors influenced of children's library use and management through investigating the use patterns and recognition of children's parents on children's libraries. Questionnaire was used as a research method. Data was collected from the parents who entered library entrance with their child and children on four public libraries. Six factors were identified from four public libraries setting. There were the spatial planning based upon library use patterns, the flexibility and mobile furnishings, the activity area for causing children's Interesting, the guarantee of safety Place for children, the quiet area for emotional stability, and functional place for moving around.

It is very important for libraries to provide their patrons with spaces that are used comfortably. In this paper, first we propose some improvement plans for space organizations of Gwacheon Public Library based on its patrons' behavioral research. It has a big meaning from the view of library marketing, which aims at improving patrons' satisfaction. Then we investigate how study tables are used based on the data taken at Kyushu University Library in Japan. Finally we put some proposals on libraries' space organization based on these investigations.

The purpose of this study is to explore ways for boosting reading education at school. Research object is research and practice activities of 'Society for School Library' at Gyeongnam area. Research method is case study. Data for this study were collected by interview with 'Society for school library' members through half structured survey, their documents and homepage site database. The results of analyzing the activities of 'Society for School Library' were explored reading education's outcomes and prospects that performed impassionedly by them. It suggests ways for boosting of reading education at school that under any circumstances reading education at school must connect with school library and the necessity of ties and collaborations with organizations inside and outside of school.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the domain authority, number of webpages, links, and calculate the web impact factor of six public libraries of India which are fully funded by Ministry of Culture with the supervision of administration. The data for the study were collected from websites of concerned libraries with the help of a suitable search engine, Open Site Explorer. The study found that the highest domain and page authority was recorded by Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library and National Library, respectively. It also further revealed that excepting the two libraries, i.e., Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library and Delhi Public Library, the internal equity-passing links and total internal links of rest of the libraries is zero. National Library leads with maximum total links and total equity-passing links, also with the highest followed linking root domains, total linking root domains, and linking C blocks, and concludes with the web impact factor of Central Secretariat Library recording the maximum, followed by National Library and Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library.

The analysis on changes in the name of public libraries was conducted to identify critical issues in LIS in South Korea. The library names registered in the National Library Statistics from 2015 to 2020 were analyzed, and types of change and its characteristics were identified. The findings indicate that 211 changes were reported during five years which were categorized in 7 types. As the characteristics, the changes in library names show the administration agency controversy, the emphasis on library services for young adults, library subject specialization, and citizen participatory name contest.
