A study on aerial triangulation from multi-sensor imagery

  • Recently, the enormous increase in the volume of remotely sensed data is being acquired by an ever-growing number of earth observation satellites. The combining of diversely sourced imagery together is an important requirement in many applications such as data fusion, city modeling and object recognition. Aerial triangulation is a procedure to reconstruct object space from imagery. However, since the different kinds of imagery have their own sensor model, characteristics, and resolution, the previous approach in aerial triangulation (or georeferencing) is performed on a sensor model separately. This study evaluated the advantages of aerial triangulation of large number of images from multi-sensors simultaneously. The incorporated multi-sensors are frame, push broom, and whisky broom cameras. The limits and problems of push-broom or whisky broom sensor models can be compensated by combined triangulation with frame imagery and vise versa. The reconstructed object space from multi-sensor triangulation is more accurate than that from a single model. Experiments conducted in this study show the more accurately reconstructed object space from multi-sensor triangulation.

  • Surveillance has become one of promising application areas of wireless sensor networks which allow for pervasive monitoring of concerned environmental phenomena by facilitating context awareness through sensor fusion. Existing systems that depend on a postmortem context analysis of sensor data on a centralized server expose several shortcomings, including a single point of failure, wasteful energy consumption due to unnecessary data transfer as well as deficiency of scalability. As an opposite direction, this paper proposes an energy-efficient distributed context-aware surveillance in which sensor nodes in the wireless sensor network collaborate with neighbors in a distributed manner to analyze and aware surrounding context. We design and implement multi-modal sensor stations for use as sensor nodes in our wireless sensor network implementing our distributed context awareness. This paper presents an initial experimental performance result of our proposed system. Results show that multi-modal sensor performance of our sensor station, a key enabling factor for distributed context awareness, is comparable to each independent sensor setting. They also show that its initial performance of context-awareness is satisfactory for a set of introductory surveillance scenarios in the current interim stage of our ongoing research.

Esp8266모듈을 이용한 소형 데이터 통합 및 융합장치 설계 (Design of Compact Data Integration and Convergence Device Using Esp8266 Module)

  • 본 논문에서는 Esp8266 모듈과 Node.js, TCP/IP 소켓 통신을 이용하여 소형경량 데이터 통합장치를 설계하였다. 본 장치는 Wifi연결 기능을 지원하는 Esp8266모듈을 사용하여 서버와 클라이언트를 구성하고, TCP/IP의 소켓 통신을 사용하여 양방향 데이터 전송을 지원하도록 구성하였다. 서버는 Node.js 운영체제를 사용하여 구성하고 Mysql을 사용하여 데이터를 통합할 수 있게 하였으며, 네트워크는 홈 네트워크와 같이 공유기를 중심으로 사설 IP를 부여하여 Esp8266이 각각 독립적인 IP를 가지게 설계하였다. 본 장치는 양방향으로 데이터를 전송 할 수 있고, 서버 측에서 각각의 클라이언트 데이터들을 저장할 수 있으며 또한 Wire-Shark를 통해 양방향으로 전송되어지는 데이터의 흐름을 확인할 수 있어서 소형의 실시간 데이터 통합 및 융합 장치로 활용할 수 있다.

영화 데이터를 위한 쌍별 규합 접근방식의 군집화 기법 (Pairwise fusion approach to cluster analysis with applications to movie data)

  • 사용자들의 영화정보를 기록한 MovieLens 데이터는 추천 시스템 연구에서 아이디어를 탐색하고 검증하는데 상당한 가치가 있는 데이터로, 기존 데이터 분할 및 군집화 알고리즘을 사용하여 사용자 평점 데이터를 기반으로 항목 집합을 분할하는 연구 등에 사용되는 데이터이다. 본 논문에서는 기존 연구에서 대표적으로 사용되었던 영화 평점 데이터와 영화 장르 데이터를 통해 사용자의 장르 선호도를 예측하여 선호도 패턴을 기반으로 사용자를 군집화(clustering)하고, 유의미한 정보를 얻는 연구를 진행하였다. MovieLens 데이터는 영화의 전체 개수에 비해 사용자별 평균 영화 평점 수가 낮아 결측 비율이 높다. 이러한 이유로 기존의 군집화 방법을 적용하는 데 한계가 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 MovieLens 데이터 특성에 모티브를 얻어 쌍별 규합 벌점함수(pairwise fused penalty)를 활용한 볼록 군집화(convex clustering) 기반의 방법을 제안한다. 특히 결측치 대체(missing imputation)도 동시에 해결하는 최적화 문제를 통해 기존의 군집화 분석과 차별화하였다. 군집화는 반복 알고리즘인 ADMM을 통해 제안하는 최적화 문제를 풀어 진행한다. 또한 시뮬레이션과 MovieLens 데이터 적용을 통해 제안하는 군집화 방법이 기존의 방법보다 노이즈 및 이상치에 상대적으로 민감하지 않은 것으로 보인다.

  • 최근 교통문제 해결을 위한 하나의 방안으로 첨단 전자 $\cdot$통신기술을 교통분야에 접목시켜 기존시설의 운영효율을 최대화하고 재원의 투자효율을 극대화하면서 또한, 이용자의 편의도 제고하기 위한 방안으로 첨단교통체계(ITS)에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 첨단교통체계의 여러 분야 중 첨단교통정보체계(ATIS)는 지능형 교통체계의 핵심적인 부문으로서 실시간으로 변화하는 네트워크의 교통상황에 대한 정보를 수집, 가공하여 운전자에게 신속하게 제공함으로서 운전자에게 목적지까지 최적 경로를 제공함과 더불어 도로의 안전 및 도로 이용효율의 극대화에 그 목적이 있다. 운전자에게 신속하고 정확한 여행자 정보를 제공하기 위해서는 다양한 멀티미디어 시스템의 개발은 필수 불가결한 요소이므로, 본 과제에서는 우선 미국의 다양한 멀티미디어 시스템을 고찰하여 각 시스템의 특징을 파악하고, 각 상황에 적합한 멀티미디어 시스템을 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 그에 앞서, 여행자 정보와 여행자 정보제공을 위한 사업 추진절차에 대해서 먼저 언급하여, 전체적인 흐름을 이해할 수 있도록 하였다

인공위성과 재분석모델 자료의 다중 증발산 자료를 활용하여 최적 증발산 산정 연구 (Estimation of the optimal evapotranspiration by using satellite- and reanalysis model-based evapotranspiration estimations)

  • 수문순환에서 증발산의 정확한 산정은 수문분석 및 이해에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 특히, 증발산을 산정하는 방법은 다양하며, 각각 방법 마다 장단점을 가지고 있다. 그렇기 때문에, 각 다른 방법으로 산전된 결과를 융합하여 최적의 증발산을 산출해야할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적으로 인공위성 기반의 증발산 모델인 revised RS-PM과 MS-PT 방법에서 산출된 증발산과 모델 자료인 Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS)와 Global Land Evaporation Amsterdam Model (GLEAM)자료들을 융합함으로써 최적의 증발산을 산출하고자 하였다. 연구 지역인 청미천과 설마천에서의 플럭스 타워에서 융합된 증발산에 대해서 검증을 실시하였다. 통계학적인 결과(상관계수, 일치도, MAE, RMSE)를 확인하였을 때, 기존의 인공위성과 모델에서 산출되는 증발산 결과에 비해 향상되는 결괄르 나타내었다. 전반적으로 결과를 확인하였을 때, 융합된 자료가 보다 향상된 결과를 보일 수 있을 것이라는 것을 나타내었으며, 추후에는 더 많은 모델을 사용하여 융합함으로써 보다 정확한 결과를 산출 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

AQUACULTURE FACILITIES DETECTION FROM SAR AND OPTIC IMAGES

  • This study attempts to establish a system extracting and monitoring cultural grounds of seaweeds (lavers, brown seaweeds and seaweed fulvescens) and abalone on the basis of both KOMPSAT-2 and Terrasar-X data. The study areas are located in the northwest and southwest coast of South Korea, famous for coastal cultural grounds. The northwest site is in a high tidal range area (on the average, 6.1 min Asan Bay) and has laver cultural grounds for the most. An semi-automatic detection system of laver facilities is described and assessed for spacebome optic images. On the other hand, the southwest cost is most famous for seaweeds. Aquaculture facilities, which cover extensive portions of this area, can be subdivided into three major groups: brown seaweeds, capsosiphon fulvescens and abalone farms. The study is based on interpretation of optic and SAR satellite data and a detailed image analysis procedure is described here. On May 25 and June 2, 2008 the TerraSAR-X radar satellite took some images of the area. SAR data are unique for mapping those farms. In case of abalone farms, the backscatters from surrounding dykes allows for recognition and separation of abalone ponds from all other water-covered surfaces. But identification of seaweeds such as laver, brown seaweeds and seaweed fulvescens depends on the dampening effect due to the presence of the facilities and is a complex task because objects that resemble seaweeds frequently occur, particularly in low wind or tidal conditions. Lastly, fusion of SAR and optic spatial images is tested to enhance the detection of aquaculture facilities by using the panchromatic image with spatial resolution 1 meter and the corresponding multi-spectral, with spatial resolution 4 meters and 4 spectrum bands, from KOMPSAT-2. The mapping accuracy achieved for farms will be estimated and discussed after field verification of preliminary results.

Fusion of Blockchain-IoT network to improve supply chain traceability using Ethermint Smart chain: A Review

  • In today's globalized world, there is no transparency in exchanging data and information between producers and consumers. However, these tasks experience many challenges, such as administrative barriers, confidential data leakage, and extensive time delays. To overcome these challenges, we propose a decentralized, secured, and verified smart chain framework using Ethereum Smart Contract which employs Inter Planetary File Systems (IPFS) and MongoDB as storage systems to automate the process and exchange information into blocks using the Tendermint algorithm. The proposed work promotes complete traceability of the product, ensures data integrity and transparency in addition to providing security to their personal information using the Lelantos mode of shipping. The Tendermint algorithm helps to speed up the process of validating and authenticating the transaction quickly. More so in this time of pandemic, it is easier to meet the needs of customers through the Ethermint Smart Chain, which increases customer satisfaction, thus boosting their confidence. Moreover, Smart contracts help to exploit more international transaction services and provide an instant block time finality of around 5 sec using Ethermint. The paper concludes with a description of product storage and distribution adopting the Ethermint technique. The proposed system was executed based on the Ethereum-Tendermint Smart chain. Experiments were conducted on variable block sizes and the number of transactions. The experimental results indicate that the proposed system seems to perform better than existing blockchain-based systems. Two configuration files were used, the first one was to describe the storage part, including its topology. The second one was a modified file to include the test rounds that Caliper should execute, including the running time and the workload content. Our findings indicate this is a promising technology for food supply chain storage and distribution.
