In this paper a closed-form predictive control which takes the intervalwise receding horizon strategy is presented and its stability properties are investigated. A slate-space form output predictor is derived which is composed of the one-step ahead optimal output prediction, input and output data of the system. A set of feedback gains are obtained using the dynamic programming algorithm so that they minimize a multi-stage quadratic cost function and they are used periodically.

In order to improve the operational reliability, it is necessary to validate the measured sensor data, isolate any failed sensor and recover the failed critical measurement. This paper describes the use of estimating equation to identify failed sensors and to recover the feedback signal for control purpose when the sensor measurement is determined to be erroneous Simulation results show that the proposed sensor validation scheme can adequately identify the failed sensor and provide reasonable estimates for control purposes.

Measurement and control system of weld pool is comprised of optical devices, image processor, personal computer and welding machine. Combinations of ND and Infrared filters were used to block the intense arc light and to get the clearer image of weld pool. Smoothing operation and conversion to binary data were performed to eliminate the noises and to decrease the processing time. A simple algorithm for feedback control was developed and weld pool size is controlled by welding current which is adjusted automatically with personal computer.

The current study assumes that the net effect of rewards on creativity is determined by interactions of motivational and cognitive properties conveyed by rewards when rewards are actually delivered. To test this hypothesis, experimental research was manipulated with 81 fourth-grade elementary students in Seoul, Korea, consisted of two sessions separated by a one-week interval. Data analyses pointed out that the changes of the creativity performance cannot be explained by the motivational changes and, in general, supported the hypothesis proposed in this study.

This paper proposes a nonlinear adaptive equalizer which is based on fuzzy rules and fuzzy inference of several affine mapping for the received channel data. The proposed nolonlinear adaptive equalizers with the significantly lower computational complexity. Also it can be applied to the on-line adaptation environments owing to its fast convergence characteristics and the lower computational load. When using the decision feedback vectors, this equaalizer can be easily realized in the form of the DFE structure with out the requirement for the perfect channel knowledge as in the case of the fuzzy adaptive filter.

This paper presents a study on the design and implementation of modulized I/O buffer control system for large capacity cable check. A 8bit I/O buffer basic module which has feedback loops with input and output buffers is simulated in PSpice and implemented with logic gates. This system is composed of 18 sub-boards which have 3 channels of 32bit data buses, and of a main board with MPC860 microprocessor.

Through AIS(Automatic Identification System), ITU-R suggested the navigational data communication between ships and between ships and shore stations for the better safety of navigation, and it requires two different the transmitting output power level depending on its operating mode. According to ITU's recommendation, these levels should reach within 20% of its final value in 1ms. In this paper, an adequate feedback control circuit for power amplifier module is designed and implemented.

시간에 의존적인 대용량의 멀티미디어 데이터를 다양한 네트웍 환경에 맞도록 전송하는 방법이 다양하게 연구되고 있다. 또한 멀티미디어 데이터를 실시간으로 전송하기 위한 프로토콜로 RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol)을 적용하여 하고 있으며, 다양한 상태의 네트웍을 통한 전송에 대한 피드백(feedback) 정보인 RTCP(Real-time Transport Control Protocol) 정보를 이용하여 QoS(Quality of Service)를 관리하는 메커니즘이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RTP/RTCP 기반의 실시간 멀티미디어 데이터 전송을 위하여 멀티캐스팅(multicasting) 환경 하에서 각기 다른 대역 폭에 대한 동적인 QoS 관리 플랫폼을 제안한다.

A new decision-feedback equalization technique for a filter bank-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) data transmission system operating in a frequency selective multipath fading channel is presented in this paper. At the cost of relatively increased computational complexity in comparison to the conventional OFDM systems, the proposed system achieves a better performance in terms of bit error rates. The simulation results confirm the superiority and robustness of our method, particularly, in the low SNR channel environment.

When grasping a movable object or making an object move, humans feel kinesthetic sense. Kinesthetic sense is the human sense that the human feels in response to the motion acted on the human. The objecive of the paper is tranforming the kinesthetic sense to quantitized data that is useful from the viewpoint of engineering. To provide various motion patterns, 2-dimensional motion generator was built using 2-axis linear motors. Active stiffness and active damping were implemented by means of current control and force feedback techniques. Based on Taguchi method, the most dominant factors to affect kinesthetic sense were investigated. Also, some functions adequate to quantize the kinesthetic sense were found.
