In this study, the effect of shrink-resist treatment agent on the wool finishing, specifically anti-felting of wool product was studied. We aimed at providing preliminary data leading to the diversification of high-value added fashionable wool product. Two type of wool fabrics, dense and sheer, were employed. The fabric specimens were treated with solutions of shrink-resist treatment agent with wet pick-up rate 110%, 130%, and 150%, respectively, by using a padding mangle. The solution treated fabric specimens were then dried at room temperature first, at $90^{\circ}C$ for 15 minutes in a drying oven, and finally cured at $130^{\circ}C$ for 3 minutes. Cured wool fabric specimens were then subjected to a felting process. The physical and mechanical properties, including shrinkage rate along warp/filling direction, thickness at specified measurement pressure, drape stiffness, and air-permeability, were analyzed. After felting process, the shrinkage rates of wool fabric specimens, treated with shrink-resist treatment agent, were lower than those of control wool fabric specimens. The stiffness values of wool fabric specimens measured by using Flexometer were increased.

This study aims to analyze the physical properties of non-woven fabric sheets, which continue to grow in the cosmetic market. Non-woven fabric sheets were used as specimens, and a total of 17 samples were analyzed. To evaluate the physical properties of the non-woven fabric sheet, the weight, tensile strength, surface properties, free swell absorption, and wet stiffness were tested. Through the results itw was determined that non-woven fabric sheets for mask packs should be manufactured considering fiber arrangement so that the weight is 40 g/m2, and the tensile strength should be maintained near 12 kgf. In addition, it was confirmed that the material selection and process conditions should be adjusted so that the free swell absorption is at least 8 g/g, and the wet stiffness is 200 mg. Therefore, since the non-woven fabrics for the mask sheets can be used in various products depending on fabric composition, this study will be expected to be basic data for the continuous growth of the sheet-type mask packs coming to market.

To explore the potential use of Ecklonia cava as a natural dye for textiles, silk fabric was dyed with Ecklonia cava extracted by hot water under varied conditions, including temperature, duration, dye concentration, mordanting, and pH adjustment. The fabric was also evaluated for fastness, sun-protective property, and deodorization. Ecklonia cava extract was estimated by FT-IR to have polyphenol as a main functional colorant in plants, while the existence of phlorotannins through the UV-spectrum method was also confirmed. The fabric was optimized for maximum dye uptake at a temperature of 80℃ for a duration of 50 minutes along all dye concentrations. The dyed fabric showed a hue of Yellow Red under all dyeing conditions while additional color tones, such as grayish and dark, were generated through mordanting and pH adjustment. Both good sun-protective properties and a positive deodorization rate were also recorded, with more than 20% (owf) Ecklonia cava extract on silk fabric. These results imply that Ecklonia cava has great potential to be used as an eco-friendly natural dye and in fashion goods with skin-health functions made of silk.
Convergence of IT devices and fashion is enabling the industry to take fully different approaches in various areas including product planning, fabric selecting, distributing, and marketing. At the same time, it also transforms the definition of clothing itself. Convergence of IT technologies in the realm of fashion and textiles industries can create a powerful synergy through connection digital devices, such as mobile phone. In this context, this study attempts to suggest how IT technology can be efficiently harnessed through the usage of mobile devices in the planning stage of fashion materials, where the initial production plan of a clothing item is mapped out. This study ultimately aims to enhance the effectiveness of databases on fashion material information by using mobile devices to utilize NFC, an RFID technology having as much revolutionary power as Internet - which can be the convergence between IT and fashion across the software dimensions. To pursue this research, data on fashion material information regarding 200 woven fabric specimens were provided by textile companies. The information includes elements such as its composition, weight, width, yarn, density and sales report. These pieces of information were organized into a database. Drawing on this data, Android-based applications that allow smart phones to read off fabric information from NFC tags were developed for this study using two methods. The system works as follows: 1. NFC tag stickers are attached onto the hangers where 200 fabric samples are hanging. 2. The NFC tag stickers are tagged, or read off from a smart phone that support NFC functions. 3. Upon tagging, the Smart phone swiftly displays all information available on its screen - not only the aforementioned six elements, but also the image of the clothing item from the fabric in its finalized product form, and the video of the model wearing the item - for convenient view. The method harbors immense potential for the fashion industry in general, and will also be useful in those fields inside the industry that harness NFC technology.
The switching fabric used to make high speed switching for packet transfer between input and output interface in recent internet environments. Without making any changes in order to remain ATM switching fabric, the existing structures should split/reassemble a packet to certain size, set aside cross-point buffer and will put loads on the system. In this paper, we proposed a new switch architecture, which has separated data memory plane and switching plane packet data will be stored on the separate memory structure and simultaneously only the part of the memory address pointers can pass the switching fabric. The small mini packets which have address pointer and basic information would be passed through the switching fabric. It is possible to achieve the remarkable switching performance than other switch fabrics with contending variable length packets.
This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the waterproofness and water vapor transport properties of 30 waterproof and breathable textiles in the market. MVTR upright cup test with water, MVTR inverted cup test with potassium acetate, and sweating hot plate test method were used for measuring the breathability of fabric samples. The waterproofness of all fabric samples and evaporative resistance of garment ensembles made with 5 selected waterproof and breathable textiles out of 30 samples were tested. The results of this study were as follows. The base fabrics of the most samples were basic weave structure with either polyester or nylon fiber. The waterproofness was over $5000mmH_2O$ for all the samples except densely woven fabrics. The evaporative resistance of garments that were made out of 5 fabric samples with a range of low to high breathability ranged $39.9{\sim}56.7m^2{\cdot}P{\cdot}W^{-1}$. The data of the water vapor transport properties of fabric samples varied with different test methods. Overall the bicomponent film fabrics showed better breathability and less standard deviation regardless of test methods. It is expected the breathability data without the information of test conditions used for marketing would confuse the consumers and the apparel manufacturers.
Purposes of this study were to analyzed coat types and characteristics of coat of young persons, and search whether fashion trend is reflected on coat. Data collected pictures that they are wearing dress in street of Daejeon city 3 places that there are much the rising generations at November, 1999. This study target was from teens latter half to 20 opening part, 154 women. Data analyzed content analysis, frequency analysis, crossing and the result is as following. First, classification standard of coat was textile fabric, form of detail and ornament. Second, coat could classify in three types, type 1 was traditional duffle coat style that is distinguished by form of detail and ornament(hood and button). Type 2 was classified property of textile fabric that used leather, padding, fur etc., and type 3 was classified by collar detail of woolen fabric coat. Specially, ornamental fur of woolen coat perceived visually strong. And design detail of coat showed significant difference in coat type. That is, duffle coat type was designed patch pocket and toggle, woolen fabric coat type was hidden button and seam pocket. Third, fashion tendency of coat was proved that is reflecting part of predicted fashion trend.

Fabrics shrinkage are affected by weaving conditions and are very difficult to be estimated when the amount of fiber consumption and production are calculated. Therefore, we need to standardize fabric shrinkage according to various weaving conditions. To develop the new textile products, we collected and analysed data of fabric shrinkage with the weaving conditions including twisting and covering process and denier of yarns used.
Three-dimensional(3D) virtual clothing simulation system may require the use of physical, mechanical, and configurational data in order to mimic the actual clothing with high degree of realism. Therefore the 3-dimensional scanning system based on optical methods was adopted to extract the 3-dimensional data of the fabric surface. In this study, the appearances of the 3-dimensionally transformed textile fabrics via several finishing procedures were investigated using a 3D scanning system. The wool gauze fabrics treated with the shrink-proof finishing and the felting process showed height changes up to 4.5mm. The 3-dimensional configuration may be objectively described by the use of mesh generation from the scanned output. The generated mesh information may further be utilized in the 3D virtual clothing simulation system for accurate description of the fashionable textile materials used in the simulation system.

The purpose of this study is to investigate consumer needs, image sensibility and preference of bedding fabric according to size and spacing of dot pattern. 18 kinds of dot pattern fabrics were designed with different diameters(6, 8, 10cm) and distances(4, 7, 10cm) in regular arrangement of diamond figure. The subjects were 162 male and female university students. The data were analyzed by SPSS 24.0. Fabrics were assessed subjectively using a 5-point scale 17 consumer needs and 33 sensory descriptors. The most consumer's needs for bedding fabric was shown to be functionality of bedding including hygiene, touch, warmth, ease of washing and management, air permeability, and hygroscopicity. The other parameters of consumer's needs were shown to be physical property and design parameter. The results of analysis of the dimension of image sensibility for fabrics with different size and spacing of dots are derived from six factors including joyfulness, coziness, uniqueness, charm, femininity, and complexity. As a result of analysis of preference with fabric kinds, there was a significant difference in preference with fabrics. The preferred fabrics were characterized by the pattern and the base fabric being striking three-dimensionally with 1/3 twill and 3/1 twill fabric. Sensory descriptors related to joyful image and unique image were analyzed as evaluation terms that can distinguish the preferences of fabrics. Correlation analysis showed the fabrics are preferred as the difference in luminance and reflectance between the base and pattern of the fabric become larger and the spacing of patterns become closer.
