  • The current study focused on the utilization of building information modeling (BIM) data in steel-frame structures, which help to reduce project durations because they employ prefabricated structural members that are assembled on-site. In addition, a business process model was proposed using BIM data collected during the preconstruction, structural steel fabrication, and on-site construction phases of an actual steel-frame project. The ultimate expectation is that BIM data support at each phase, as well as the increased understanding among project participants, will result in an increase in project management productivity. The results from the current study are summarized as follows: To implement a BIM capable of application to steel-frame projects and data utilization, existing theories were studied to develop the construction project steps, both generally into the preconstruction (A1), steel fabrication (A2), and on-site construction phases, (A3) and specifically into 19 BIM-applicable phases. Based on the derived BIM-applicable phases, the model elements of the BIM object were identified, and the shortcomings of existing steel-frame projects were ameliorated, resulting in an improved data flow model. Moreover, for the proposed BIM data flow to progress efficiently, the BIM specialist needs to be well-acquainted with the phase-specific three-dimensional (3D) model output, and the infrastructure to construct an error-free 3D model must be provided. Based on the actual construction example, the BIM data utilized steel-frame projects - via production reports, clash checks, two-dimensional (2D) drawings, four-dimensional (4D) simulations, and 3D scanning - to make cooperation and communication among participants easier.

  • In this paper, we present a method for reconstructing a surface mesh animation sequence from point cloud animation data. We mainly focus on the articulated body of a subject - the motion of which can be roughly described by its internal skeletal structure. The point cloud data is assumed to be captured independently without any inter-frame correspondence information. Using a template model that resembles the given subject, our basic idea for reconstructing the mesh animation is to deform the template model to fit to the point cloud (on a frame-by-frame basis) while maintaining inter-frame coherence. We first estimate the skeletal motion from the point cloud data. After applying the skeletal motion to the template surface, we refine it to fit to the point cloud data. We demonstrate the viability of the method by applying it to reconstruct a fast dancing motion.

  • In the military field, according to the MIL-STD-188-220, which is an Ad-Hoc communication protocol used for sending out or receiving data and voice smoothly among nodes in the situation that wireless communication nodes move arbitrarily, data communication is cut off because nodes can not know topology changes perpetually in the link disconnection state due to node movement in the case that transmitters do not confirm whether data is delivered to receivers or not, and transmit only the data having routine precedence continuously. In order to solve this problem, we have proposed the technique that makes efficient data communication possible by achieving a rapid topology change detection and link information update using TEST frame. We have analyzed TEST frame application effects in the two aspects of the topology update delay time and the data transmission success ratio.

  • With increasing needs for affective design, it became an essential part in a product development process to look up quantitative ergonomic data that reflects customers' preferences on design factors in various products. This study looked at wide LCD monitors and analyzed customers' affective preferences regarding monitor's bezel frame size and shape. The monitor's bezel frame depth, size and ratio were selected as independent variables among many design parameters. As dependent variables, customer's subjective preferences were measured. A statistical analysis revealed that monitor's bezel frame depth, size and ratio had significant effects on customer's preferences. Also, it was possible to find a different tendency on affective variables and their levels for 19" and 24" wide LCD monitors. In general, experiments revealed that customers reacted more sensitively in 24" wide LCD monitors to all variables. In 19" wide LCD monitors, only the lower frame bezel size had a significant effect, otherwise, lower, upper and side frame bezels appeared to be effective variables in 24" monitors. In order to reflect customer's affective preferences to new design of wide LCD monitors, this study is expected to provide quantitative ergonomic data and guidelines for the design of wide LCD monitor's bezel frame depth and size.

  • This paper addresses an analysis for a railway data transmission protocol-Ethernet based data transmission between the CTC(Centralized Traffic Control System) and the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Fame error rates of the data transmissions are calculated and compared for the two cases that the CTC/SCADA has an extra data transmission error control(CRCI6) besides the inherent error control of the Ethernet(CRC32), and that the CTC/SCADA has no extra data transmission error control. With simulation results it has been verified that the extra data transmission error control(CRC16) contributes to lowering the frame error rate.

  • In this paper, the data service protocol which could support data service more efficiently between mobile host and fixed host in wire network is investigated. Wireless link has high bit error rate compared with wire link. Therefore, TCP performance for the data service is degraded in wire and wireless interworking environment. Thus, to reduce performance degradation. Interworking module withsimple protocol processing function is proposed. This, interworking module analyzes the hearder information of TCP fram. If received TCP freame is a duplicated frame, TCP frame is discared. Also, if interworking moudule receives retransmission request frame is a duplicated frame, TCP freme is discarded. Also, if interworking module receives retansmission request frame, interworking module performs retransmission procedure. According to simulation results, the proposed IWF shows better performance than traditional IWF in view of delay and throughput in the wire and wireless interworking environments.

  • This paper has been studied a real-time video frame data processing control that used the linear systolic array for motion estimation. The proposed data control processing provides to the input data into the multiple processor array unit(MPAU) from search area and reference block data. The proposed data control architecture has based on two slice band for input data processing. And it has no required external control logic blocks for input data as like reference block or search area data.

  • Smoothing is a transmission plan that converts video data stored at a variable bit rate into a constant bit rate. In the study of [6-7], when a data rate increase is required, the frame with the smallest increase is set as the start frame of the next transmission rate section, when a data tate decrease is required. the frame with the largest decrease is set as the start frame of the next transmission rate section, And the smoothing algorithm was proposed and performance was evaluated in an environment where network traffic is not considered. In this paper, the smoothing algorithm of [6-7] evaluates the adaptive CBA algorithm and performance with minimum frame rate, average frame rate, and frame rate variation from 512KB to 32MB with E.T 90 video data in an environment that considers network traffic. As a result of comparison, the smoothing algorithm of [6-7] showed superiority in the comparison of the minimum refresh rate.

  • In this paper we propose a method predict whether a video frame contains motion according to the invoking situation of the coding unit mode in HEVC. The motion prediction of video frames is conducive for use in video compression and video data extraction. In the existing technology, motion prediction is usually performed by high complexity computer vision technology. However, we proposed to analyze the motion frame based on HEVC coding unit mode which does not need to use the static background frame. And the prediction accuracy rate of motion frame analysis by our method has exceeded 80%.

  • Applying digital network technology for advanced nuclear plant requires deterministic communication for tight safety requirements, timely and reliable data delivery for operation-critical and mission-critical characteristics of nuclear plant. Communication protocols, such as IEEE 802/4 Token Bus, IEEE 802/5 Token Ring, FDDI, and ARCnet, which have deterministic communication capability are partially applied to several nuclear power plants. Although digital communication technologies have many advantages, it is necessary to consider the noise immunity from electromagnetic interference (EMI), electrical interference, impulse noise, and heat noise before selecting specific digital network technology for nuclear plant. In this paper, we consider the token frame loss and data frame loss rate due to the link error event, frame size, and link data rate in different protocols, and evaluate the possibility of failure to meet the hard real-time requirement in nuclear plant.
