Recently with the advance in digital dentistry, the fabrication of dentures using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) is on the rise. The denture designed through a CAD software can be produced in a 3-dimensional manufacturing process. This process includes a subtractive processing method such as milling and an additive processing method such as 3D printing and in which it can be applied efficiently in more complex structures. In this case, complete dentures were fabricated using Stereolithography (SLA)-based 3D printing to shorten the production time and interval of visits in patient with physical disabilities due to cerebral infarction. For definitive impression, the existing interim denture was digitally replicated and used as an individual tray. The definitive impression obtained with polyvinyl siloxane impression material was including information about the inclination and length of the maxillary anterior teeth, vertical dimension, and centric relation. In addition, facial scan data with interim denture was obtained so that it can be used as a reference in determination of the occlusal plane and in arrangement of artificial teeth during laboratory work. Artificial teeth were arranged through a CAD program, and a gingival festooning was performed. The definitive dentures were printed by SLA-based 3D printer using a FDA-approved liquid photocurable resin. The denture showed adequate retention, support, and stability, and results were satisfied functionally and aesthetically.

The construction of free-form structures with intricate curved exteriors necessitates the use of bespoke molds. To fulfill this requirement, a blend of Phase Change Material(PCM) and Ultra-High Performance Concrete(UHPC) is utilized. PCM endows the solution with recyclability, while UHPC facilitates the effortless execution of curvature in the mold fabrication process. However, it's worth mentioning that the melting point of PCM hovers around 58-64℃, and the heat emanating from UHPC's hydration process can potentially jeopardize the integrity of the PCM mold. Hence, experimental validation of the mold shape is a prerequisite. In the conducted experiment, UHPC was poured into two distinct mold types: one that incorporated a 3mm silicone sheet mounted on the fabricated PCM mold(Panel A), and the other devoid of the silicone sheet(Panel B). The experimental outcomes revealed that Panel A possessed a thickness of 3.793mm, while Panel B exhibited a thickness of 5.72mm. This suggests that the mold lacking the silicone sheet(Panel B) was more susceptible to the thermal effects of hydration. These investigations furnish invaluable fundamental data for the manufacturing of ultra-high strength irregular panels and PCM molds. They contribute substantially to the enrichment of comprehension and application of these materials within the realm of construction.

In the case of the construction industry, the relationship between process and cost should be appropriately distributed so that the finished product can be delivered at the minimum fee within the construction period. At that time, it should be considered the size of the bridge, the construction method, the environment and production capacity of the factory, and the transport distance. However, due to various reasons that occur during the construction period, problems such as construction delay, construction cost increase, and quality and reliability degradation occur. Therefore, a systematic and scientific construction technique and process management technology are needed to break away from the conventional method. The prefab(Pre-Fabrication) is a representative OSC (Off-Site Construction) method manufactured in a factory and constructed onsite. This study develops a resource and process plan optimization system for the process management of the Nodular girder, a prefab bridge girder. A simulation algorithm develops to automatically test various variables in the personnel equipment mobilization plan to derive the optimal value. And, the algorithm was applied to the Paju-Pocheon Expressway Construction (Section 3) Dohwa 4 Bridge under construction, and the results compare. Based on construction work standard product calculation, actual input manpower, equipment type, and quantity were applied to the Activity Card, and the amount of work by quantity counting, resource planning, and resource requirements was reflected. In the future, we plan to improve the accuracy of the program by applying forecasting techniques including various field data.

Recently, digital technology and computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) environment have changed the clinician treatment method in the fabrication of dentures. The denture manufacturing method with CAD/CAM technology simplifies the treatment and laboratory process to reduce the occurrence of errors and provides clinical efficiency and convenience. In this case, complete dentures were fabricated using stereolithography (SLA)-based 3D printing in patient with mandibular deviation. Recording base were produced in a digital model obtained with an intraoral scanner, and after recording a jaw relation in the occlusal rim, a definitive impression was obtained with polyvinyl siloxane impression material. In addition, facial scan data with occlusal rim was obtained so that it can be used as a reference in determination of the occlusal plane and in arrangement of artificial teeth during laboratory work. Artificial teeth were arranged through a CAD program, and a gingival festooning was performed. The definitive dentures were printed by SLA-based 3D printer using a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved liquid photocurable resin. The denture showed adequate retention, support and stability, and results were satisfied functionally and aesthetically.
Digital technology is gradually expanding its field and has a great influence on various fields of dentistry. Recently in digital dentistry, the importance of superimposing various 3-dimensional (3D) image data is emerging, in order to utilize gathered data effectively for diagnosis and prosthesis fabrication. Integrating data from facial scans, intraoral scans, and mandibular movement recordings can create a virtual patient. A virtual patient is formed by integrating digital 3D diagnostic data such as intraoral and extraoral soft tissues, residual dentition, and dynamic occlusion, and the results of prosthetic treatment can be evaluated virtually. The patients in this case report were a 37-year-old female whose chief complaint is that the appearance of the existing prosthesis was distorted and a 55-year-old female patient whose anterior prosthesis needed to be refabricated after the endodontic treatment. 3D facial scans were obtained from each patient, and the patient's mandibular movements were recorded using ARCUS Digma 2 (KaVo Dental GmbH, Biberach an der Riss, Germany). The collected data were integrated on computer-aided design (CAD) software (Exocad dental CAD; exocad GmbH, Darmstadt, Germany) and transferred to a virtual articulator to create a digital virtual patient. The temporary fixed prostheses were designed, restored, and evaluated, and it was reflected into the final restorations. With the aid of the virtual dental patient, accuracy and predictability could be increased throughout treatment, simplifying the occlusal adjustment and clinical evaluation with improved esthetic outcomes.

We herein present the design and fabrication of a Rx core chip operating in the X-band (10.5~13 GHz) using Win's commercial $0.25-{\mu}m$ GaAs pHEMT process technology. The X-band core chip comprises a low-noise amplifier, a four-bit phase shifter, and a serial-to-parallel data converter. The size is $1.75mm{\times}1.75mm$, which is the state-of-the-art size. The gain and noise figure are more than 10 dB but less than 2 dB, and both the input and output return losses are less than 10 dB. The RMS phase error is less than $5^{\circ}$, and the P1dB is 2 dBm at 12.5 GHz, the performance of which is equivalent to other GaAs core chips. The fabricated core chip was packaged in a QFN package type with a size of $3mm{\times}3mm$ for the convenience of assembly. We confirmed that the performance of the packaged core chip was almost the same as that of the chip itself.
Studies on ancient ironmaking technologies are primarily based on archaeological surveys and scientific analysis data, and technological systems are examined by comparing the results of restorative experiments. In this study, to examine the ancient iron production technologies such as smelting and smithing in the Jungwon area, a restoration experiment was conducted based on archaeological data, and the iron and slag, etc. produced in the experiment were analyzed. Further, the changes in physicochemical properties due to the smelting of the raw material, specifically, iron ore were determined, and the smithing process, which involves fabrication of ironwares, was analyzed along with the characteristics of each step. In the case of smelting, increasing recovery rates and production of high-quality primary iron material were important for the following processes. For the iron bars produced through the smithing process, it was found that quality improvements made by reducing physical defects such as inclusions or gas holes were more important than the composition of the iron itself. The study also yielded comparative study data for various byproducts, such as smithing slag, which could be utilized in other ironmaking technology studies.
Purpose: To design and fabricate the distributed auto edging machine for the development. Methods: We got the necessary data needed in design by using CAD. Based on the these data, we fabricated the trial product for the development of the distributed auto edging machine. Results: The patternless mode could be operated by receiving the eyesize data from the auto lay-outer with the RS232C transmission system and the pattern mode could be operated by setting the pattern on the left side of the machine. The distributed auto edging machine were composed with combinations of many elements; head, auto arm, pattern clamp and grinding wheels. The head part controlled the grinding of ophthalmic lens by operating the vertical and horizontal motors. The wheels part was comprised of glass mode, plastic mode, V-bevel mode and polish mode. The slide in the auto arm was equipped on the below of the patten and the slide could hold up the pattern which was rotated by fixed shaft. The pattern clamp could move the head part to the up and down or right or left way by the manual operation of optometrists. Conclusions: We could succeed in making the trial product by applying it to the development of the distributed auto edging machine which could be used as the patternless mode and pattern mode, selectively. Therefore, it was confidently expected that this product was very helpful for the optometrists to dispense the ophthalmic lens because of its cost-efficiency and convenience.
Dowel bars in the jointed concrete pavement are used to both provide load transfer across pavements joints and prevent the joint faulting leading to longer service life. On the contrary, the misplacement of dowel bar can provide negative results including the joint freezing(locking) that may cause the joint spatting and unexpected mid-slab cracking. The dowel bar can be placed using the assembly or dowel bar inserter (DBI) during the concrete pavement construction. In the domestic practice of the concrete pavement construction, the dowel bar is placed using the assembly method. This study primarily focuses on the comparison of these two dowel placement methods using the field data from the KHC test road in which both dowel placement methods have been applied to a certain length of the concrete pavement. The field data regarding the alignment of the dowel bars placed by both methods was collected using MIT-SCAN2, a nondestructive measuring equipment, and processed to compute Joint Score and Running Ave. Joint Score which are used as indicators of the dowel bar performance. The comparison of the methods for the dowel bar placement using these indicators shows that the DBI method provided much better alignment of the dowel bars reducing the risk of joint freezing than the assembly method. In order to improve the quality of the dowel bar placement using the assembly method, the current weak points of the assembly method including the fabrication, storage, and installation of dowel bar assembly were investigated and the solution was suggested. The improved dowel bar sets based on the suggested solution have been applied to an actual practice of the concrete pavement construction. The field data shows that the improved assembly method suggested in this study can highly reduce the risk of joint freezing.
Due to the population growth of the old aged, Korea is also entering into an aging society. But a research on the pattern design to the old aged is much to be desired. The purpose of this research is to design skirt pattern fitted for each body type by categorizing the lower body type of the old aged woman. For the way of research, categorized the body type by using the female measuring size from the 65 years old to 99 years old which has been measured by the Korean body size research as an assay data, and base on this data, a suitable skirt pattern for each body type of the old aged woman was designed by practicing the exterior evaluation. The data analysis was done with the statistical treatment in SPSS 12.0, and the results are as follows. The lower body type of the old aged woman were divided into the type 1. The circumference article is the biggest compared to the height article regarding to the lower body type of the old aged woman. The type 2. The height article and the circumference and thickness articles are the poorest. The type 3. The height article is the biggest and the hip width and calf circumference are thicker than the waist width. The type 4. The height article is the lowest and the waist width is thicker instead the hip and leg are thinner. In type 1, The pattern was modified by increasing 1cm a length of the dart and raising up 1.2cm at the cross point between side line and waist line. In type 2, the basic pattern was used, and in type 3, using the outline of the basic pattern however, increased 1cm a length of the dart and modified the amounts of dart by handling the art in curve, and modified the waist line to be more three-dimensional curves by raising up 1 cm at the cross point between waist line and side line and falling down 0.5cm at the cross point between the back center line and the waist line. In type 4, modified the amounts of front and back dart to 1.25cm, and raised up 0.8cm at the cross point between side line and waist line, and modified the waist line and the side seam line in a gentle curve by reducing circumference of the skirt tail to 1cm from the side seam line.
