Recent efforts to develop a common standard for nuclear power plants (NPPs) with the aim of creating (1) a digital environment for a better understanding of NPPs life-cycle management aspect and (2) engineering data interoperability by using existing standards among different unspecified project participants (e.g., owners/operators, engineers, contractors, equipment suppliers) during plants' life cycle process (EPC, O&M, and decommissioning). In order to meet this goal, there is a need for formulating a standardized high-level physical breakdown structure (PBS) for NPPs project management office (PMO). However, high-level PBS must be comprehensive enough and able to represent the different types of plants and the new trends of technologies in the industry. This has triggered the need for addressing the issues of the recent operational NPPs and future technologies' ramification for evaluating the changes in the NPPs physical components in terms of structure, system, and component (SSC) configuration. In this context, this ongoing study examines the recent conventional NPPs and technological trends in the development of future NPPs facilities. New reactor models regarding the overlap of variant issues of nuclear technology were explored. Finally, issues on PBS for project management are explored by the examination of the configuration of NPPs primary system. The primary systems' configuration of different reactor models is assessed in order to clarify the need for analyzing the new trends in nuclear technology and to formulate a common high-level PBS. Findings and implications are discussed for further studies.
Since entering the 21st century, the construction industry has developed faster and faster, and more and more technologies have been applied in the construction industry. BIM technology (Building Information Modeling) was born in this environment. The application of BIM technology can greatly improve the efficiency of cost management and help achieve the goal of cost management. But through BIM to realize project cost management, there is still no good solution. In order to solve this problem, this paper puts forward the concept of WBS structure applied to construction projects by studying the BoQ (Bill of Quantities) list based on BIM, and proposes the numbering method of the structure. The WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) structure proposed in this paper divides more than 5000 cost objects into 133 projects according to the type of work and project schedule. This structure helps to realize the application of BIM in project cost management. Although this article has studied more than 5000 data of three projects, it does not think that it can cover all cost objects in the existing construction industry. The purpose of this article is to propose a solution for cost and Process Control using BIM-based BoQ data.

As the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) to the civil sector has become practical, and mandatory for road projects, the standardization, development of systems, etc. for the application and operation of BIM are required. In particular, it is important to develop BIM data standards for producing, sharing and managing the lifecycle data of civil facilities because they are commonly national public facilities. The BIM data standards have been developed by utilizing or extending IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), which is an international standard, but schema extensions of river facilities has not been developed thus far. This study proposes an approach to an IFC extension for river facilities using the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) as a fundamental study for IFC-based schema extension in the river field. For this purpose, the research was carried out as follows. First, the IFC extension development method was selected to represent the river facilities by analyzing the existing IFC structure and previous research cases for the IFC extension. Second, extended elements of the river facilities were identified through an analysis of the WBS and classified according to the high-level structure of the IFC schema. Third, the classified elements were arranged based on the IFC hierarchy and the IFC schema extension for river facilities was established. Based on the suggested extension method of IFC schema, this study developed the schema by defining the element components and parts of river facilities, such as distribution flow elements and deriving their detailed types and properties.
Purpose: This study aimed to describe the experience of family breakdown of Hwabyung patients in a socio-cultural context. Methods: Data for this study came from 5 participants, 2 family members and 1 friend of participant by interviews and participant observations from January 2006 to April 2007. Sociology of everyday lives analyzing method were adopted. Results: There were two processes of family breakdown ; sudden on set and progressive processes. The sudden breakdown was unpredictable death of a husband, the significant family member. On the other hand, their family structure and function were broken down through the husband, who repeatedly destructive and malicious behaviors. The experience of family breakdown of middle-aged women with Hwabyung in a socio-cultural context was weakened or severed family-relationships, exhaustion of economic sources, and the breakdown of participant's body. Participant's experience of family breakdown were influenced by Korean culture, the patriarchal social system and the clan-centered family system. Conclusion: Hwabyung is the result of a clan-centered family system and patriarchal system. The approach to Hwabyung should involve not only the person with the illness but also their family.

One of the crucial components in building information modeling (BIM) is data. To systematically manage these data, various research studies have focused on the creation of object breakdown structures and property sets. Specifically, crucial data for managing programs and payments involves work breakdown structures (WBSs) and cost breakdown structures (CBSs), which are indispensable for mapping BIM objects. Achieving this requires disassembling CBS quantities based on 3D objects and WBS. However, this task is highly tedious owing to the large volume of CBS and divergent coding practices employed by different organizations. Manual processes, such as those based on Excel, become nearly impossible for such extensive tasks. In response to the challenge of computing quantities that are difficult to derive from BIM objects, this study presents methods for disassembling length-based quantities, incorporating significant portions of the bill of quantities (BOQs). The proposed approach recommends suitable CBS by leveraging the accumulated history of WBS-CBS mapping databases. Additionally, it establishes a unified CBS code, facilitating the effective operation of CBS databases.
The work breakdown structure and the precedence relations by work activity are very important because they are the basic data for estimating the construction duration in the construction work. However, there is no standard to accurately estimate the construction duration since the size of the school facilities construction is smaller than the general construction work. Therefore, some schools are unable to open in March or September and the delay of the construction duration can cause damage to the students. To solve this problem, this study developed a work breakdown structure of school facilities construction work and analyzed the precedence relations by work activities. The work breakdown structure of the school facilities construction is composed of three steps. The operations corresponding to level 1 and level 2 are as follows. (1) 2 preparatory work categories; preparation period and temporary construction. (2) 17 architectural work categories; temporary construction, foundation & pile work, reinforced concrete work, steel roof work, brick work, plaster work, tile work, stone work, waterproof construction, wood work, interior construction, floor work, metal work, roof work, windows construction, glazing work and paint construction. (3) 7 mechanic and fire work categories; outside trunk line work, plumbing work, air-conditioning equipment work, machine room work, city gas plumbing work, sanitation facilities and inspection & test working. (4) 4 civil work categories; wastewater work, drainage work, pavement work and other work. (5) 1 landscaping work categories; planting work. The work breakdown structure was derived from interviews with experts based on the milestones and detailed statements of existing school facilities. The analysis of precedence relations by school facilities work activity utilized PDM(Precedence Diagramming Method)which does not need a dummy and the relations were applied using FS(Finish to Start), FF(Finish to Finish), SS(Start to Start), SF(Start to Finish). The analysis of this study shows that if one work activity is delayed, the entire construction duration may be delayed because the majority of the works are FS relations. Therefore, it is necessary to use the Lag at the appropriate time to estimate the standard construction duration of the school facility construction. Lag is a term used only in the PDM method and it is used to define the relationship between the predecessor and the successor in creating the network milestone. And it means the delay time applied to the two work activities. The results of this study can reasonably estimate the standard construction duration of school facilities and it will contribute to the quality of the school facilities construction.

In this paper, the effect of adhesion properties of semiconductive-insulating interface layer of silicone rubber on electrical properties was investigated. Surface structure and adhesion of semiconductive silicon rubber by surface asperity was obtained from SEM and T-peel test. In addition, ac breakdown test was carried out for elucidating the change of electrical property by roughness treatment. From the results, Adhesive strength of semiconductive-insulation interface was increased with surface asperity. Dielectric breakdown strength by surface asperity decreased than initial Specimen, but increased from Sand Paper #1200. According to the adhesional strength data unevenness and void formed on the silicone rubber interface expand the surface area and result in improvement of adhesion. Before treatment Sand Paper #1200, dielectric breakdown strength was decreased by unevenness and void which are causing to have electric field mitigation small. After the treatment, the effect of adhesion increased dielectric breakdown strength. It is found that ac dielectric breakdown strength was increased with improving the adhesion between the semiconductive and insulating interface.

Linear scheduling method limits to present works of work breakdown structure as a form of lines and was often developed manually. In other words, linear schedule could not utilize activity, work breakdown structure, and etc. information of network schedule such as CPM(Critical Path Method) and has been used only for reporting or confirming construction master plan. Therefore, it is necessary to develop system which can automatically generating the linear schedule based on the network schedule having many accumulated and useful construction schedule information. Thus, this research has an effort to establish data process model, data flow diagram, and data model in order to make linear schedule. In addition, this research addresses the system solution structure, user interface class diagram and logic diagram, and data type schema. The results of this paper can be used as a preliminary research for developing linear schedule generating system prototype by utilizing the network schedule information.

Design of a high-speed railway line requires collaboration of heterogeneous application systems and of engineers with different background. Object-based 3D models with metadata can be a shared information model for the effective collaborative design. In this paper, railway infrastructure information model is proposed to enable integrated and inter-operable works throughout the life-cycle of the railway infrastructures, from planning to maintenance. In order to develop the model, object-based 3-D models were built for a 10km railway among Korea high-speed railway lines. The model has basically three information layers for designers, contractors and an owner, respectively. Prestressed concrete box-girders are the most common superstructure of bridges. The design information layer has metadata on requirements, design codes, geometry, analysis and so on. The construction layer has data on drawings, real data for material and products, schedules and so on. The maintenance layer for the owner has the final geometry, material data, products and their suppliers and so on. These information has its own data architecture which is derived from similar concept of product breakdown structure(PBS) and work breakdown structure(WBS). The constructed RIIM for the infrastructures of the high-speed railway was successfully applied to various areas such as design check, structural analysis, automated estimation, construction simulation, virtual viewing, and digital mock-up. The integrated information model can realize virtual construction system for railway lines and dramatically increase the productivity of the whole engineering process.
