There were correlated between academic achievement in the nursing students, self-efficacy (r=.33, p<.001), social support (r=.31, p<.001), and college life adaptation (r=.42, p<.001). And there were correlated between self-efficacy (r=.16, p=.022), and social support (r=.22, p=.002). Conclusion. It was found that a higher degree of self-efficacy and social support, college life adaptation and academic achievement of nursing students. Therefore, to increase the academic achievement, between the social support, self-efficacy and college life adaptation are recommended.
Purpose: This study was designed to examine the basic data for an effective measure for the caregiver's burden and adaptation of industrial accident patient. Method: The data were computerized by the SPSS/pc for Window. Results: 1) The burden felt by the caregiver of the patients who were in hospital was more than 'average', and objective burden was higher than subjective one. 2) The adaptation felt by the caregiver was more than 'average'. 3) The objective burden of the caregiver based on the general characteristics varied in the relationship between the caregiver and the patient, the level of education of the caregiver, the age of the caregiver, nursing period, nursing time per day, and so forth. The subjective burden was significantly related to the relationship between the caregiver and the patient, the level of education of the caregiver, the age of the caregiver, nursing period, nursing time per day, and the religion. 4) The adaptation of the caregiver based on the general characteristics varied in monthly income and nursing period. 5) The relationship between the burden and adaptation of the caregiver were reverse. Conclusion: Even though the caregiver have high burden, they positively adaptation it.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of ego-resilience and stress coping styles on college adaptation in nursing students. Method: The sample for this study consisted of 1st and 2nd year students from 3 colleges of nursing, one each, in Jeolla, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang Provinces. The data were collected from November 5 to 22, 2010. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression with SPSS 18.0. Results: A positive correlation was found for college adaptation with stress coping styles and ego-resilience. The strongest predictor of college adaptation was an optimistic attitude. In addition optimistic attitude, satisfaction with nursing as a major, confidence, academic scores, age, emotional control, and gender accounted for 63.3% of variance in college adaptation. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that development of stress coping and ego-resilience in nursing students is important to college adaptation. Further research in improving ego-resilience and stress coping is warranted.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the role adaptation process experienced by executive directors of nursing department of general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 9 executive nursing directors though in-depth interviews about their experiences. The main question was "How do you describe your experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director?" Qualitative data from field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss & Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category of experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director was identified as "entering the center with pushing and pulling". The participants used five interactional strategies; 'maintaining modest attitudes', 'inquiring about trends of popular feeling', 'making each person a faithful follower', 'collecting & displaying power', 'leading with initiative'. The consequences of role adaptation in executive nursing directors were 'coexisting with others', 'immersing in one's new role with dedication', and 'having capacity for high tolerance'. The types of role adaptations of executive directors in nursing department were friendly type, propulsive type, accommodating type. Conclusion: The results of this study produced useful information for executive nursing directors on designing a self-managerial program to enhance role adaptation based on interactional strategies.
The purpose of the study was to identify the mediating effects of health promoting lifestyle in the relationship between life stress and adaptation to college life of health department college students. The data was collected for 10 days form sept. 3 to 14, 2012. Among a total of 351 cases of questionaries, only 342 cases were used. To data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and a hierarchical multiple regression analysis as suggested by Baron and Kenny(1986) using PASW statistics 18.0. From the analyses, there was a negative relationship between life stress and adaptation to college life but a positive relationship between health promoting lifestyle and adaptation to college life. There was a partial mediating effect of health promoting lifestyle between life stress and adaptation to college life. The results indicate a need to develop programs that effectively promote the health promoting lifestyle of health department college students to decrease life stress and maximize adaptation to college life.

Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the mediating effect of self-identity on the relationship between aggression and school life adaptation of early adolescents. Methods: This study used the 5th-year data of the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) including 159 middle school 2nd students from single-parent families. The data was analyzed with open source statistics program R 3.5.0 to determine whether self-identity had a mediating effect on school life adaptation as an independent variable. Results: A moderate correlation was found among aggression, self-identity, and school life adaptation. As a result of the Sobel test, self-identity of early adolescents demonstrated a significant mediating effect on the relationship between aggression and school life adaptation. Conclusions: Given the significant mediating factor of self-identity, the strategies for early adolescents to boost their overall school life adaptation should be considered through intervention programs that help to enhance their self-identity.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of adaptation of dental hygiene department students to campus life, and to provide basic data to prepare management strategies for effective campus life adaptation. Methods: Three hundred students in the department of dental hygiene in Busan Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province were surveyed from October 1 to October 30, 2020 and 291 questionnaires were used in the final data analysis. Results: Better adaptation to campus life was observed in subjects who participated in club activities, possessed an extrovert personality, were well adapted to the dental hygiene department, and had no conflict in interpersonal relationships, thereby showing a significant difference. Regarding the factors affecting the degree of satisfaction with the department, the higher the degree of satisfaction in the major, excellence in major, and coping ability, the higher was the degree of satisfaction with the department. Conclusions: For effective campus life adaptation of the university students as a way to increase the degree of satisfaction with the department, increasing the ability to adapt to campus life through achievement of pride in the major and participation in various interpersonal activities is a possibility. It is necessary to develop a program to create an environment for good adaptation to campus life.
In this paper, we investigated performance of a vocabulary-independent speech recognizer with speaker adaptation. The vocabulary-independent speech recognizer does not require task-oriented speech databases to estimate HMM parameters, but adapts the parameters recursively by using input speech and recognition results. The recognizer has the advantage that it relieves efforts to record the speech databases and can be easily adapted to a new task and a new speaker with different recognition vocabulary without losing recognition accuracies. Experimental results showed that the vocabulary-independent speech recognizer with supervised offline speaker adaptation reduced 40% of recognition errors when 80 words from the same vocabulary as test data were used as adaptation data. The recognizer with unsupervised online speaker adaptation reduced abut 43% of recognition errors. This performance is comparable to that of a speaker-independent speech recognizer trained by a task-oriented speech database.
In this paper, we propose an application of data hiding, especially for content adaptation, where one can reduce computational time and get better transcoding results or qualify. Hiding some useful information for content adaptation can help resource tailor to do effective transcoding so that one can achieve lower complexity as well as better quality in content adaptation. Experimental results show that the proposed method based on data hiding gives effectiveness to content adaptation with reasonable subjective quality.
