Surge Voltage Distribution at the Different Bonding Practice During a Direct Lightning Stroke to Building (건물의 직격뢰시 본딩 방식에 따른 서지 진압 분포)

  • There are several ways to bond to building grounding systems for reducing GPR(ground potential rise) and EMI resulting from power system faults or lightning stroke to building. In order to verify effective bonding practice, the GPR and voltage of equipment due to the direct stroke to building are calculated with ATP-EMTP model for transformer, transmission line and MOV(Metal oxide varistor). The simulated model shows a satisfactory accuracy compared with experimental result for the $8/20{\mu}s$ simulated current pulse. It is observed that separate grounding can cause dangerous voltage to the building equipment and the performance of surge protective device can improve when it is installed to the protected equipment in distance as short as possible.

  • 일반적으로 상용주파수에서의 대지는 입력전류의 크기에 따라 일정한 저항체로 다루어 질 수 있으며, 접지도체 임피던스도 무시할 수 있고 접지도체 전체가 등전위로 볼 수 있다. 그러나 써어지 전류 유입시에는 주파수가 수백 MHz 이므로 접지도체 임피던스에 의한 전압강하가 크게 될 뿐 아니라 써어지 전류 유입점의 도체전위가 매우 많이 상승하게 된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 운전중인 변전소 안전측면에서 접지임피던스와 보폭 및 접촉전압 등의 위험전압측정을 통한 안전성을 검토하였다.

  • Pentagraphs are used to supply electric power to train via trolley lines. The higher train speed is, the higher voltage and current levels 8u. Since electric power is supplied with slinding contact, localized abrasion is inevitable. It is difficult and dangerous to measure their shape manually. Measurement system of pentagraph slider with ultrasonic processing has been reported. In this paper, measurement system with image processing is proposed. The system consists of CCD cameras, image grabber board, and PC operated on Windows'95. Image processing algorithms are presented and some results are illustrated.

  • Nowadays, a DC microgrid that can link various distributed power sources is gaining much attention. Accordingly, research on fault situations, such as line-to-line and line-to-ground faults of the DC microgrid, has been conducted to improve grid reliability. However, the blackout of an AC system and the oscillation of a DC bus voltage have not been reported or have not been sufficiently verified by previous research. In this study, a 20 kW DC microgrid testbed using a power HIL simulation technique is proposed. This testbed can simulate various fault conditions without any additional grid facilities and dangerous experiments. It includes the blackout of the DC microgrid caused by the AC utility grid's blackout, a drastic load increment, and the DC bus voltage oscillation caused by the LCL filter of the voltage source converter. The effectiveness of the proposed testbed is verified by using Opal-RT's OP5707 real-time simulator with a 3 kW prototype three-port dual-active-bridge converter.

  • With the rapid development of electronics industry and information-oriented society, the threat of fields radiated from electrostatic discharges (ESDs) to the electronic equipments is becoming more and more dangerous. To apply a proper protection method this paper presents the results of the measurement of the voltage and current peaks and the rise time of ESD derived from a charged human body under a variety of experimental conditions.

  • NOx, Soot and other exhausted components already became a dangerous state as principal materials of the air pollution. Therefore, the exhausted regulations are getting strict in the many countries. In this paper, reduction characteristic of NOx, Soot and CO from diesel engine are investigated, when MF plasma-EGR hybride system is put to the diesel engine. NOx is decreased in all measured load and applied voltage to plasma renter However Soot is increased as increasing EGR rate and it is decreased as increasing applied voltage.

  • In this paper, the function of starting the negative voltage used in the IT equipment when it is generated and the method of controlling it using a microcontroller for the function to detect the overload and respond to it are presented. To do this, the limitations of the existing negative voltage generation circuit and the problems that occur during overload were analyzed, and a circuit that detects and controls the overload condition without a separate current sensing circuit was presented. In order to confirm the effect of the proposed method, an experiment was conducted by configuring an experimental circuit. As a result of the experiment, compared to the existing negative voltage generation circuit, which falls into a latch-up state when overloaded and enters a dangerous state, the proposed circuit detects this, stop the operation of the circuit, and informs the user of such an abnormal state to take action. have. In addition, since the starting point of the circuit is determined according to the system state, the experimental result was confirmed that the starting time was significantly shortened by about 23% compared to the time switch method.

  • Switching surges are a common type of phenomenon that occur on any sort of power system network. These are more pronounced on long transmission lines and in high voltage converter stations. At AC/DC hybrid transmission lines, the insulation coordination of such lines is mainly dictated by the peak level of switching surges, the most dangerous of which include three phase line energization and AC/DC converter station. The power system structure consist of AC/DC hybrid transmission lines which is combination of AC 765kV and ±500kV HVDC 1 bipole system for contingency analysis. The power system under study and its components are simulated using EMTDC software package, the effects of the various AC/DC mixing power lines are reviewed. The developed models of EMTDC conversion lines based on combination of AC/DC system are simulated and the characteristics of switching surge over-voltage from its results are discussed.

Effects of Reclosing for Insulation Coordination in 345kV Combined Transmission Lines (345kV 혼합송전선로에서 재폐로가 절연설계에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper describes switching surge analysis for reclosing decision in 345kV combined transmission line with XLPE power cable. Reclosing operation should be decided based on the detailed technical analysis in combined transmission line because this line includes power cable section which is week on insulation. Insulation of power cable can be breakdown at the week point in case of reclosing moment. Therefore the detailed analysis has to be carried out by considering several conditions such as length ratio of power cable section, arrestor, inserting resistance, charging rate, grounding resistance, etc.. On the other hand sheath voltage on IJ(Insulated Joint) is analyzed to check dangerous condition on cable cover. Analysis is performed by EMTP/ATP. Analysis results show that reclosing can be operated as the single line-to-ground fault occurs on overhead line in 345kV combined transmission line, if the inserting resistance is considered before the operation of main circuit breaker.
