  • EM(Electro Magnetic) pump is used for the purpose of transporting liquid sodium coolant with electrical conductivity in the LMR(Liquid Metal Reactor). In the present study. pilot EM pump has been designed by using of equivalent circuit method which is commonly employed to analyze linear induction machines for the test of removal of residual heat. The length and diameter of the pump have fixed values of 840 mm and 101.6 mm each by taking account of geometrical size of circulation loop for the installation of EM pump. Flowrate versus developing pressure is related from Laithwaite's standard design formula and the characteristic analyses of developing force and efficiency are carried out according to change of input frequency. From the characteristic curve, input frequency of 13 Hz is determined as the design frequency. On the other hand, The annular air gap size of 6.05 mm is selected not to bring about too much hydraulic loss. Resultantly design analysis makes pump have the electrical input of 604 VA and the hydrodynamical capacity of 1.3 bars and 40 l/min.

농어촌 도로의 정비현황 조사 분석 - 전남 군지역을 중심으로 - (Analysis on the Improvement Level of Minor Rural Roads - A Cast Study on the County Areas of Chonnam Province -)

  • This study was carried out to propose some useful advices for the improvement policy of the minor rural roads. For the detailed case studies on structural improvement level of the minor rural roads, 5 county areas in Chonnam Province were selected ; Damyang (peri-urban), Gurye(remoter mountainous), Jindo(remotest island), Yuongam(intermediate flat) and Bosung (intermediate semi-mountainous). In each county, the official survey data on pavement types, widths and ratios of district(Myun in Korean) and parish(Ri in Korean) roads were collected. There were no apparent differences between district and parish roads in terms of structural improvement level, while the former was ranked higher than the latter in the minor rural road improvement law, so, the present hierarchial classification system of rural roads should be readjusted. And above a third of minor rural roads in the case study areas did not meet the statutory minimum level of road width, which means the necessity of substantial upgrade of road improvement works in rural areas.

위험도 분석에 근거한 최적 터널설계 사례 (A case study on the optimal tunnel design based on risk analysis)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속국도 제 12호선 담양-성산간의 양방향 터널의 설계 시, 지반 물성치의 불확실성을 고려하기 위해 위험도 분석에 근거하여 최적의 지보패턴 및 굴착방법을 결정하는 사례를 소개하였다. 이를 위해 지보량과 굴착방법이 다른 3 가지 적용 안을 선정하고, 터널의 안정성을 정량화할 수 있는 개념인 안전율을 사용하여 각각의 경우에 대해 Monte Carlo simulation 기법을 사용하여 위험도를 구하였다. 이때 결과의 신뢰도를 높이기 위하여 정규분포를 만족하는 총 729가지 경우의 지반물성치 조합 (변형계수, 점착력, 내부마찰각)을 생성하여 사용하였다. 또한 터널의 발생변위 및 숏크리트 휨응력 분포를 비교 분석하여 터널의 안정성을 확인하였다.

가톨릭 광주대교구 퀀셋 성당의 건축적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Architectural Characteristics of the Quonset Church in the Catholic Archdiocese of Gwangju)

  • This study sought to reveal the architectural characteristics of Quonset church built in the Archdiocese of Gwangju, and the conclusions are as follows. The Quonset structure, which was used as a military barracks during World War II and was designed to be easily assembled and disassembled quickly, was used in Damyang, Hwasun, and Gokseong churchs. They were all built in 1958, after the Korean War, and can be related to the historical background of the rapid increase in the number of Catholics. They are utility buildings that can accommodate many believers, that is, large quonsets measuring 40 feet (width) x 100 feet (length). The floor plan was largely divided into two spaces, with about 3/4 reserved for the nave and altar, and the remaining 1/4, or 24 to 30 feet, used as a sacristy or confessional. The cross-section is a semicircle with a radius of 20 feet, framed by 6-inch ribs, and its unique structure, in which bricks are stacked on the outside to form the exterior, makes it different from a typical brick church. Unlike other stone churches built around the same time, Quonset church was not expanded. This may be due to the difficulty in supplying special materials such as the ribs that make up the frame, as well as the absence of relevant experts.

주 재배 작목별 한국 여성 농업인 체형 특성 (Characteristics of the Body Shape of Korean Woman Farmers by Crops)

  • This study was to research the characteristics of the body shape of Korean woman farmers by the major crops. Four hundred ninety-five Korean woman farmers from 9 different area such as Kumi, Damyang, Iksan, Injae, Chungju, Choongju, Haman, Whasung, and Whasoon volunteered for this study. Their major crops were the rice, the pepper, the water melon, the strawberry, the wild rocambole, the sweet persimmon, the grapes, the mushroom, and the chrysanthemums. Twelve body angles were measured from archived the somatotype photographs of the front, the side, and the back. Questionnaires of SF-36 and the farmer's symptom, and the farm-work related movements were surveyed. The results were as follows; 1. Farmers had lower health levels in physical role limit, pain, vitality, and physical function than other occupational workers. 2. Most farmers acted the high-risk ergonomics motions when they worked in the farm. 3. There were significantly different on the both shoulder angles, the hip tangential line slope, the hip breadth angel, in frontal ankle-knee angle, the bending back angle, the dropping breast slope, the abdominis media angle, under the abdominis media angle, the glutea angle, under the glutea angle, and the sideward knee angle(p<.05). 4. Farmers cultivating the low plants such as the water melon, the strawberry, and the wild rocambole showed more banded vertebralis and side knee angles. Farmers cultivating the red pepper showed the dropping the left shoulder and O shape legs. Farmers cultivating the fruit trees such as the sweet persimmon and the grapes showed the less banded side knee angles than other farmer groups. 5. On comparing the same age, farmers showed the older's body shape in earlier and much more than the old living in the city.

장수벨트지역 장수인의 영양섭취 실태 (Nutritional Status of the Nonagenarian Population in Longevity Belt in Korea)

  • The nutrients intake and health-related habits of nonagenarian subjects in Korean representative longevity belts of Damyang, Gokseong, Kurye, Sunchang were evaluated for the purpose of providing the information on the desirable food selection and dietary pattern of elderly population. A survey was conducted with 91 subjects (26 males and 65 females) and their food intakes were measured by the combination of one meal weighing and 24-hr recall, and their general background information was collected by visit. The mean age of the subjects was 93.6 $\pm$ 2.2 (male) and 97.6 $\pm$ 4.6 (female) The average smoking rate was $20.9\%$, the rate of regular drinking was $26.4\%$. The average energy intake was 1,284.9 kcal comprising $77.1\%$ of RDA for elder people over 75. The energy ratio of carbohydrate, protein and fat were 66.5 : 18.2 : 15.3. The average intake of protein, calcium, iron and zinc were $107.4\%,\;59.9\%,\;106.3\%$ and $60\%$ of RDA respectively. The lower intake of vitamins as low as $70\%$ was found except vitamin $B_6$ and niacin. The majority of the subjects consumed rice as staple diet and mostly consumed white plain rice rather than mixed grain rice. The animal and plant food intakes were 88.4 : 11.6 in males and those of females were 83.0 : 17.0 showing a tendency of plant-based meals. Nutrients that showed NAR over 0.7 were protein, iron, vitamin $B_6$, niacin and phosphate, but those with INQ over 1. Nutrient with INQ below 0.7 was only vitamin E. Even though their nutritional quantity did not appear to be enough, but their nutritional quality was relatively high. The adding dairy products, nuts and fruits for the purpose of proving sufficient vitamin and minerals can achieve the optimal nutritional intake patterns. Further research on RDA of this age population should be followed.

호남 장수지역의 산업 연계와 혁신 네트워크 (Industrial and Innovation Networks of the Long-live Area of Honam Region)

  • 호남 장수지역 경제활동의 산업연계와 혁신네트워크에 대해 분석함으로써 지식정보화 시대의 이상적인 고령사회에 대비한 새로운 지역발전 방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국 장수지역 중의 하나인 전라북도의 순창군과 전라남도의 담양군, 곡성군, 구례군 등의 대표적 제조업체를 중심으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 산업 연계에 있어 원료구입과 노동력이용은 해당 군에서 많이 이루어지고 있고, 제조업과 농업 및 관광업간 연계와 인터넷을 이용한 통신판매가 활성화되고 있었다. 그리고 혁신네트워크에 있어서는 지식정보화시대에 가상혁신클러스터의 형성 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 농촌지역 발전을 위해서는 지식기반경제의 지역혁신체계 개념을 이용해 지역의 자원 및 전통지식과 밀접한 혁신네트워크 구축이 필요하다.

담양지방(潭陽地方) 왕대속(屬) 4종(種)의 조직(組織) 및 간내(稈內) 변이성(變異性) (Characteristics of Culm Anatomy and Dimensional Variation in Genus Phyllostachys Grown Damyang District, Korea)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the anatomical characteristics, the radial and axial variation of the cell dimension and bulk density for four bamboo species used as the major material of bamboo products in Korea; Phyllostachys(P.bambusoides, P.edulis, P.nigra var.henonis, and Pnigra). The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1) In the outer part of culm, the mophological difference of cell diameter and distribution were not acknowledged. However, gum-like substance was occurred In the epidermis, hypodermis, cortex and metaxylem vessel of P.nigra, while it was occured only in the metaxylem vessel of P.edulis. 2) The protoxylem vessel in the central zone of culm-wall could be in the two types; the first type consisted of 4-5 small cell pieces occurred in P.edulis and P.nigra var. henonis, the second type of 1-2 large cell pieces in P.bambusoides and P.nigra. And transition of cell diameter from the vascular bundle sheath to the ground tissue was gradually enlarged in P.nigra and P.edulis but abruptly in P.bambusoides and P.nigra var. henonis. 3) Thin-wall tyloses were well developed in the outer and central zone of culm-wall in four species. 4) Compared with the central part of culm-wall, the number of parenchyma cells and the amount of the vascular bundle sheaths per unit area were a few in the inner part. The inner part nearest to the pith cavity was consisted of thick-well parenchyma cell. 5) The dimensional variations of metaxylem vessel and parenchyma cell in the radial direction were decreased from the inner part to the epidermis in all species observed. 6) The fiber length was the maximum in the central zone and its diameter was increased from the inner part to the outer part. In the axial variation. fiber length was slightly increased from the base and then decresed slowly toward the top, and its diameter was reverse. 7) The axial variation of the bulk density was continuously increased from the base toward the top and its radial variation was rapidly increased from the inner part to the epidermis.

  • 본 연구에서는, 화학적 표면처리에 따른 카본블랙의 표면, 흡착, 그리고 미세구조의 성질과 물리적 표면 자유에너지를 고찰하였다. 실험적 결과를 통하여, 염기성 용액으로 표면 처리한 경우 pH와 비표면적의 변화 없이 표면 자유에너지의 비극성 또는 극성요소의 증가를 가져왔다. 반면에 산성표면처리의 경우에는 표면특성, 흡착성질과 미세구조의 큰 변화를 확인하였다. 특히, 염기성 처리된 카본블랙은 비극성이나 비표면적의 중요한 인자로 표면 자유에너지의 London 비극성 요소의 증가를 볼 수 있었다. 이는 카본블랙/고무 복합재료에 있어서, 카본블랙이 강화재의 역할 뿐 아니라 분산력 발달에 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있기 때문으로 사료된다.

3D 프린터 필라멘트 제작용 대나무/PLA 바이오복합재료 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Bamboo/PLA Bio-composites for 3D Printer Filament)

  • 본 연구에서는 대표적인 친환경 소재인 바이오복합재료(bio-composite)를 이용한 3D 프린터 필라멘트를 제작하였다. 바이오복합재료의 제조를 위해 매트릭스로는 생분해성 고분자인 poly lactic acid (PLA)를 그리고 충전제로는 대나무 분말(Bamboo flour)을 사용하였다. 대나무는 담양에서 생산되는 왕대, 솜대, 죽순대를 이용하였으며, 대나무 분말과 PLA의 혼합비율은 중량기준 10/90, 20/80, 30/70으로 설정하였다. 3개 죽종으로 제조한 대나무/PLA 바이오복합재료의 기본물성 평가를 위해 인장강도를 비교하였다. 그 결과, 왕대 분말/PLA의 비율이 10/90일 때의 인장강도가 7.12 MPa로 가장 높게 나타남으로써 3D 프린터 필라멘트 제작용 대나무/PLA 바이오복합재료로 가장 적합한 것으로 판단되었으며, 현미경 관찰 결과, 죽분의 함량을 더욱 낮춘 필라멘트를 제작할 필요성이 있다고 판단된다.
