We applied Chunggangunbi-tang-gamibang to a 64 year-old male patient who had alcoholic liver cirrhosis with ascites. Chunggangunbi-tang-gamibang has been used to treat alcoholic liver disease and because of its beneficial effects. The patient with the disease expected several symptoms induced by Alcoholic liver cirrhosis, and we diagnosised differentiation of symptoms, using Chunggangunbi-tang-gamibang while removing dampness through diuresis and invigorating the spleen. After medication we could find remarkable effects on clinical symptoms, blood test results and abdomen ultrasonographic images. From this case, it is thought that using Chunggangunbi-tang-gamibang is very effective to improve the symptom of alcoholic liver cirrhosis with ascites.

Objectives : We search the contents about Bi disease in Huang Di Nei Jing(黃帝內經), to analyze the significance of Bi disease, etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis of Bi disease, treatment of Bi disease. Methods : We find that the key feature of Bi disease is joint pain induced by impatency of Qi and blood. Exterior and interior etiological factors are involved in, such as exogenous evil of cold and dampness, emotional disorders, intemperance of taking food, dysfunction of yingqi and weiqi, strong or weak constitution, etc. Results : The important pathogenesis are invaded by exogenous evil because of deficiency, disharmony of yingqi and weiqi and disharmony of five viscera. The key points of treatments are the individual concerned therapy and climate concerned therapy, selecting the acupoint according to the differentiation of symptoms and signs. Conclusions : The combined therapy should be used such as acupuncture and moxibustion, hot application of medicine, massage, Daoyin, outside apply, etc. These supply the theory foundation for etiological factor, pathogenesis, syndrome and treatment, and to direct the diagnosis and treatment of Bi disease later generations.
Objective : This study was designed to analyze the clinical studies on Tic disorder in traditional Korean medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Methods : To figure out the Tic disorder, Korean medical studies from Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and Chinese Medical Journals from Wangfang data and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) which published in 2008 to 2012 were analyzed. Results & Conclusions : 1. DSM-IV(7 studies), CCMD(3 studies) were frequently used in the diagnosis of tic disorder. 2. The herbs used for the treatment of tic disorder are Uncariae ramulus et Uncus(釣鉤藤), Paeoniae Radix Alba(白芍藥), Poria(白茯苓), Buthus martensi Karsch(全蝎) etc. 3. Acupuncture points frequently used were Paek'oe(GV20), Pungji(GB20), Naegwan(PC6), Sasinchong(EX-HN1), T'aech'ung(LR3), Joksamni(ST36), Hapgok(LI4) and so on. 4. The cause of Tic disorder is connected with liver, heart, spleen, kidney, gall bladder among the internal organs and Fire(火), Wind(風), Dampness(濕) of external causes.
After studying the cause and mechanism of the itching with the perspective of chronic medical books including Neijing, and the annotators, the conclusions are as follows. 1. The itching, which has correlation with the heart, is the deficiency symptom(虛症). It is generated when the lung-metal(肺金) is infected by the fire pathogen(火邪) and developed to depression(鬱), because of the heart fire flaming upward of circuit year(歲火太過). The treatment is to make metal depression scatter(金鬱泄之). 2. The itching occurs between the dermis(膚) and the epidermis(皮). 3. The itching generates when the excess of yang exuberance(熱盛極) precede the transmission of the wind-heats(風熱), the wind-cold(風寒), and the wind-dampness(風濕). It causes the blood deficiency(血虛) and the blood stasis(血瘀) because of the skin dryness. 4. The itching usually generates during summer, causes the body fever(身熱) and the dermis pain(膚痛). When it becomes worse, it causes generalized itching and vesicles at the whole body(浸淫). 5. The itching is related to the spirit(魄), which works in unconsciousness and the movement of defense qi(衛氣) in night.
Objective : For the purpose of developing Korean herbology of the plants to Polyporaceae in Korea, the literatures of the successive generations have been thoroughly investigated to prepare this article. Methods : The examined herbological books and research paper which published domestically and abroad. Results : 1. Polyporacease plants (raised in Korea) are devided into 31 classes with 59 species. Among them, 26 species in 19 classes were found serviceable, which indicates 44 % of all Polyporacease plants. 2. Among those 59 species, $Coriolus$$Phellinus$$Trametes$ includes 5 species. $Ganoderma$, a medicinal plant, includes 3 species. 3. Dividing the serviceable plants of Polyporacease, the fruit body family had the largest number; 25. 4. Out of plants Polyporacease, neutral taste plants was 17 species and sweet taste was 14 species. 5. Only 8 species of Polyporaceae plants were found to enterd into the spleen and heart. 6. 11 species were found to prevent cancer, 7 species were found to dispel wind-dampness and Alleviate edem antittusive and antasth matic. 7. There were no toxic species in the Plyporaceae. Conclusion : There were totaled to 31 genera and 59 species in Polyporaceae in Korea and among them medicinal plants are 19genera, 26 species, some 44% in total.
Spot welded structure is operated in diverse situation because of temperature, humidity and precipitation. In addition factors of environmental pollution such as acid rain, that courses corrosion, have the tendency to increase, But spot welded structure strength is affected by dampness and environment temperatures. Therefore, it is important to evaluate effect of temperature of spot welded part, In this study, the strength distribution of spot welded plates is evaluated about the environmental temperature of zine coated steel plates and test is conducted with welded part immersed in distilled and synthetic sea water. Specimens are immersed into water for 10, 100, 500 and 1000hours to evaluate the effects of water immersion time on tensile-shear strength under the conditions of -40, 0, 20 and $50^{\circ}C$. Strength is evaluated by tensile-shear test. The conditions of spot welding are 240kgf electrode force, 10KA welding current with 0 and 5mm clearance. From this study, spot welded specimens with clearance have lower tensile-shear strength in the distilled water or synthetic sea water comparing with spot welded specimens without clearance. And they have lower tensile-shear strength under $-40^{\circ}C$ and over $50^{\circ}C$.
External pathogens such as wind, cold can easily invade the external parts of the body when host's external defense ability is not secure. Herein, we consider the underlying mechanisms against the external contraction at the body surface. During the early period after primary invasion, external defense mechanisms are gradually activated. The classic clinical manifestations are aversion to cold, fever, headache, generalized pain, and nasal congestion. This condition is called by invasion of external pathogen into the body surface. As the disease progress, lung qi is stagnated and thereby up-outward and downward movement action of lung become disturbed. Therefore, when doctor administrate formula to treat the exterior syndrome, doctor must keep in mind not only materia medica, but also underlying mechanisms through which many clinical symptoms appear.
After this study: I report the following result from it. 1. Beriberi is defined as sensory or motor disorder of leg with a painful-swelling and pyrexia. If it progress severely, the disease transmits to heart and cause numbness of the lower abdomen, vomiting, anorexia, palpitation, chest distress and confusion. 2. The external etiologic factors of Beriberi are wind-toxic pathogen, dampness, improper diet and climate sickness, the internal etiologic factors are deficiencies of the kidney, both Gi and blood and original vital energy. 3. The treatment of Beriberi is free-going of blockage, because it is a blocked disease. 4. Danggwiy-juntongtang and Ganghwar-dochetang is the most in the order of frequency of use. Mahwang-juagyongtang, Banha-juagyongtang, Daehwang-juagyongtang, Shinbi-juagyongtang are used in sequence. 5. The prescriptions of Beriberi are made up of the herbs that clear heat, for example, Ganghwar, Changchul, Mahwang and Bangpung, and the herbs that reinforces Gi, for example, Insam and Bakchul.
Gwan-Gyeok(關格) is one of the dangerous conditions that can lead to death and is considered important in clinical practice. However its true concept is unclear and arguments on the subject have been diverse over generations. This kind of confusion is largely due to an insufficient understanding of the study results on Nangyeong(難經). In Nangyeong, Gwan-Gyeok is divided into 'in bowels(在腑)' and 'in viscera(在臟) and distinction is made between 'damaged by heat(傷熱)' and 'damaged by dampness(傷濕) thus establishing a broad outline of differentiation of syndrome(辨證). Moreover, the clinical progress is systematically divided into 3 stages thus providing a very useful viewpoint on diagnostics. A sharp perspective on the pathogenesis is also shown by emphasizing the kidney and Myeongmun(命門) through the comparison between cheok pulse(尺) and chon pulse(寸). This point of view in Nangyeong is truly proposing a permanent standard on the understanding of Gwan-Gyeok. Therefore it is the author's hope that this study will work as a start to look back on the flow of the research on Gwan-Gyeok which has been rather confusing since Sanghallon(傷寒論).
