CFD 시뮬레이션을 이용한 건축물 및 녹지배치가 외부 열환경에 미치는 영향 예측 (Prediction of Effect on Outside Thermal Environment of Building and Green Space Arrangement by Computational Fluid Dynamic)

  • This study forecasts changes in thermal environment and microclimate change per new building construction and assignment of green space in urban area using Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) simulation. The analysis studies temperature, humidity and wind speed changes in 4 different given conditions that each reflects; 1) new building construction; 2) no new building construction; 3) green spaces; and 4) no green spaces. Daily average wind speed change is studied to be; Case 2(2.3 m/s) > Case 3. The result of daily average temperate change are; Case 3($26.5^{\circ}C$) > Case 4($24.6^{\circ}C$) > Case 2($23.9^{\circ}C$). This result depicts average of $2.5^{\circ}C$ temperature rise post new building construction, and decrease of approximately $1.8^{\circ}C$ when green space is provided. Daily average absolute humidity change is analysed to be; Case 3(15.8 g/kg') > Case 4(14.1 g/kg') > Case 2(13.5 g/kg'). This also reveals that when no green spaces is provided, 2.3 g/kg' of humidity change occurs, and when green space is provided, 0.6 g/kg change occurnd 4(1.8 m/s), which leads to a conclusion that daily average wind velocity is reduced by 0.5 m/s per new building construction in a building complex.

일일 평균 습도가 투수의 탈삼진 기록에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Daily Average Humidity on Pitcher's Stats of Strike-Out)

  • 최근 프로 스포츠에서는 데이터를 활용하는 분야가 주목을 받기 시작하였다. 데이터 활용 분야는 경기 내적으로 파생되는 클래식 기록 뿐만 아니라, 효율성을 강조한 2차 기록도 적극적으로 활용되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경기 외적인 데이터인 일일 평균 습도를 통하여 투수들의 탈삼진 능력과의 상관관계를 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 KBO리그에 소속된 10개 팀의 홈구장과 보조구장에 소재한 지역의 일일 평균 기록을 참고로 하였고, 선발 투수와 구원 투수들의 특성을 파악하기 위하여 다승, 홀드, 세이브 부문의 상위 5명 씩의 K/9기록을 대상으로 분석하였다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 선발 투수와 구원 투수와의 K/9 기록에 유의미한 차이를 발견하였으며, 프로 스포츠의 데이터 활용에 대하여 학문 및 산업 전반의 발전을 기대할 수 있다.

Monitoring the phenology of Forsythia velutina, an endemic plant of Korea

  • Background and objective: This study was conducted on Forsythia velutina, a special plant, in Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum under the Gyeongsangnam-do Forest Environment Research Institute, which is located in the southern part of Korea. Methods: The research aimed to analyze the flowering characteristics of the plant by calculating the optimal temperature and humidity according to the flowering time and flowering period for 8 years from 2010 to 2017 in order to provide basic data for bioclimate studies of endemic plants. Results: It was observed that the Forsythia velutina showed a life cycle from mid-March and to mid-November. Average growth period was 243 (± 6.5) days. In testing the reliability of a single variable according to the meteorological factors, the Cronbach's Alpha was 0.701, which indicates that the findings were relatively reliable. The average date of flowering was March 16 (SD = 5.8) and the average date on which blossoms fall was March 29 (SD = 5.2). A substantial difference in flowering period was observed from year to year 11 to 23 days, with an average of 16 days (± 4.7). The temperature and humidity in February to March, which affect the flowering, were 2.9-5.5℃, and 66.5-73.0%, respectively, and showed differences every year. Conclusion: The correlation between flowering time and meteorological factors was positive, and the highest daily temperature and average daily temperature had the highest significance. When establishing basic data on plant species for the conservation of endemic plants, the changes in life cycle events and weather conditions are identified. It is believed that it will be helpful in establishing a conservation strategy for the plant species in the future.

여름철 산란계사 내 열환경인자 중 제어요소에 관한 연구 (Study on Control of Thermal Environmental Factors for Improvement of Productivity of Laying Hens in Summer)

  • 본 연구는 여름철 산란계의 더위 스트레스로 인한 생산성 저하에 영향을 미치는 열환경인자들 중 제어 요소를 결정하고 산란계의 생산성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 경상남도에 위치한 산란계사에서 ISA Brown 품종의 산란계 48,451수를 공시하여 생산성 지표를 측정하였다. 또한 산란계사 내부에 온습도로거를 설치하여 건구온도와 상대습도를 여름이 시작되는 6월 19일부터 9월 7일까지 총 81일간 동안 측정하였다. 1일 평균온도, 1일 최고온도, 1일 최저온도, 1일 평균상대습도, 1일 최고상대습도, 1일 최저상대습도, 1일 평균THI, 1일 최고THI 그리고 1일 최저THI와 산란계의 생산성 지표 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석한 결과에 의하면, 1일 평균, 최고, 최저의 건구온도와 THI가 상승할수록 사료섭취량, 헨데이 산란율, 난중과 FCR은 낮아졌다(p<0.01). 반면, 음수량은 1일 평균, 최고, 최저의 건구온도와 THI가 상승할수록 증가하였다(p<0.001). 상대습도의 경우, 산란계의 생산성 지표에 대해 직접적인 상관관계를 가지지 않는 것으로 판단된다(p>0.05). 특이점으로는 폐사율의 경우, 1일 평균·최고 온도, THI와 1일 평균·최고·최저 상대습도와는 유의적인 상관관계를 가지지 않았지만, 1일 최저의 온도와 THI와는 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 분석되었다(p<0.05). 따라서, 여름철 산란계의 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 산란계사 내의 1일 평균, 최고, 최저의 건구온도와 THI를 가능한 낮추는 것이 필요하고, 특히 1일 최저온도를 산란계의 하한임계온도인 20℃에 근접하게 조성해주는 것이 유리할 것으로 판단된다.

고품질 표고 생산 지역의 버섯 생산기간중 기후 분석 (Analysis of Climatic Factors during Growing Period of High-Quality Oak Mushroom(Lentinus edodes(Berk) Sing))

  • 표고버섯은 담자균류 송이과에 속하는 식용 버섯으로, 영양 성분 및 약리적 효능이 높기 때문에 동양인에게 중요한 버섯이며, 점차로 생산량과 소비량이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는, 고품질 표고버섯 생산시기의 기상자료를 분석하여 표고버섯의 품질에 영향을 주는 생육 환경요인을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 1997~1998년 국내 고품질 표고버섯이 생산되는 지역중 3지역(부여, 원주, 장흥)을 선정하였다. 표고버섯의 다량 발생시기 20일 기준으로 기상분석시기 15일을 선정하였다. 환경요인으로는 발생시기의 일 온도차, 일습도차, 일평균온도, 일 평균습도 및 풍속을 분석하였다. 발생기간중의 일 평균온도는 버섯 발생 온도 하한치인 $7^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 적정온도 $20^{\circ}C$까지의 변화를 보였고, 일 온도차는 주간에는 $7~20^{\circ}C$, 야간에 $0~-2^{\circ}C$의 범위를 나타냈다. 일평균습도 50~70%으로 강우에 따라서 변화 폭이 컸으며, 일습도차는 40~60%의 차를 나타냈다. 풍속은 1~4m.$s^{-1}$이었다 .따라서 화고, 동고의 생육환경은 일반적인 표고버섯의 적정 생육 조건과는 큰 차이를 보였다. 생육기간동안의 일 온도차, 일습도차, 저 습도, 풍속 등의 환경 조건은 고품질 표고버섯 발생의 요인의 하나라고 추정된다. 이 연구결과는 버섯의 시설재배시 고품질 표고버섯 생산을 위한 환경조절기술로 적용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

On Interesting Correlation between Meteorological Parameters and COVID-19 Pandemic in Saudi Arabia

  • The recent outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic cases around the globe has affected Saudi Arabia with around 15, 00,000 confirmed cases within the initial 4 months of transmission. The present investigation analyzed the relationship between daily COVID-19 confirmed cases and meteorological parameters in seventeen cities of KSA. We used secondary published data from the Ministry of Health, KSA daily dataset of COVID-19 confirmed case counts. The meteorological parameters used in the present investigation are temperature, humidity, dew point, and wind speed. Pearson correlation and Spearman rank correlation tests were utilized for data analysis. The incubation period of COVID-19 varies from 1 day to 14 days as per available information. Therefore, an attempt has been made to analyze the effects of meteorological factors with bins of 1, 3, 7, and 14 days. The results suggested that the highest number of correlations (15 cities) was observed for temperature (maximum, minimum, and average) and humidity (12 cities) (minimum and average). The dew point showed relationships for 7 cities and wind showed moderate correlations only for 2 cities. The study results might be useful for authorities and stakeholders in taking specific measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

온실에서의 꽈리고추 소비수량 (Water Consumption of Twisted Sweet Pepper in Greenhouse)

  • This study was performed to figure out water consumption of the twisted sweet pepper in a greenhouse. Obtained results are as follows; 1. The ambient temperature was nearly same as the normal year, while the average air temperature and the relative humidity in the green house were little bit higher than those of the outside condition. The transparency of the greenhouse roof was approximately 50%. The total amount of rainfall during the irrigation period was 1,040㎜ which is 350㎜ higher than 1997 during the same period. 2. In case of pot cultivation, as the saturation ratio was increased, the aeaf area and plant height and yield were also increased. The yield from the field cultivation was higher than the average yield from the pot cultivations which are treated by three levels of saturation ratio. 3. The variation of daily consumptive use of the twisted sweet pepper was very large in it's range. In case of the pot cultivation, as the saturation was increased, the daily and the total consumptive use were increased. 4. The daily consumptive use was strongly correlated with the ambient temperature, while it was weakly correlated with the relative humidity and solar radiation. 5. There were close correlation between plant environment; leaf area, plant height and yield, and consumptive use. As the saturation ratio was increased, the correlation between those plant factors and consumptive use was getting stronger.

A Study on Acute Effects of Fine Particles on Pulmonary Function of Schoolchildren in Beijing, China

  • To evaluate the acute effects of fine particles on pulmonary function, a longitudinal study was conducted. This study was carried out for the schoolchildren (3rd and 6th grades) living in Beijing, China. Children were asked to record their daily levels of peak expiratory flow rate using portable peak flow meter (mini-Wright) for 40 days. The relationship between daily PEFR and fine particle levels was analyzed using a mixed linear regression models including gender, height, the presence of respiratory symptoms, and daily average temperature and relative humidity as extraneous variables. The total number of students participating in this longitudinal study was 87. Daily measured PEFR was in the range of $253{\sim}501L/min$. On the daily basis, a PEFR measured in the morning was shown to be lower than that measured in the evening (or afternoon). The daily mean concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ over the study period were $180.2\;{\mu}g/m^3$ and $103.2\;{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. The IQR (inter-quartile range) of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were $91.8\;{\mu}g/m^3$ and $58.0\;{\mu}g/m^3$. Daily mean PEFR was regressed with the 24-hour average $PM_{10}$ (or $PM_{2.5}$) levels, weather information such as air temperature and relative humidity, and individual characteristics including gender, height, and respiratory symptoms. The analysis showed that the increase of fine particle concentrations was negatively associated with the variability in PEFR. The IQR increments of $PM_{10}$ or $PM_{2.5}$ (at 1-day time lag) were also shown to be related with 1.54L/min (95% Confidence intervals -2.14, -0.94) and 1.56L/min (95% CI -2.16, -0.95) decline in PEFR.

TRY 방법론에 의한 표준일사량데이터 평가 (Evaluation of Typical Solar Radiation Data by the TRY Methodology)

  • Limited fossil fuels and unstable energy supply are considered as one of the critical problems in architecture requiring large amounts of energy. In order to this challenge, environment-friendly architecture design is required. Clear data should be prepared to apply solar energy to architecture aggressively and properly. This study used FS statistical analysis data regarding average daily solar radiation of Seoul observed over 20 years to find out standard year and standard daily solar radiation. This study also aims to compare and evaluate an appropriate method of selecting a standard year which is too close to measurement value through comparison and analysis with daily solar radiation acquired by applying overseas researchers' suggesting weight factor. As a result, the data nearest to measurement value of daily solar radiation was UK CIBSE TRY(TYPE 2) displaying 0.100in t-statistic index. For UK CIBSE TRY(TYPE 2), weight factor was applied to three climatic elements except relative humidity. TYPE 1 and TYPE 3 recorded 0.343 and 0.367, respectively, showing higher record of t-statistic than TYPE 2. TYPE 1 was calculated through FS statistical value of single data about daily solar radiation with other climatic elements excluded. For TYPE 3, relative humidity was added to TYPE 2. In particular, since TYPE 2 was closer to the measurement value compared to the others, it is necessary to consider relationship with other climate elements if other climate elements are added.

앙상블 방법에 따른 WRF/CMAQ 수치 모의 결과 비교 연구 - 2013년 부산지역 고농도 PM10 사례 (A Comparison Study of Ensemble Approach Using WRF/CMAQ Model - The High PM10 Episode in Busan)

  • To propose an effective ensemble methods in predicting $PM_{10}$ concentration, six experiments were designed by different ensemble average methods (e.g., non-weighted, single weighted, and cluster weighted methods). The single weighted method was calculated the weighted value using both multiple regression analysis and singular value decomposition and the cluster weighted method was estimated the weighted value based on temperature, relative humidity, and wind component using multiple regression analysis. The effects of ensemble average methods were significantly better in weighted average than non-weight. The results of ensemble experiments using weighted average methods were distinguished according to methods calculating the weighted value. The single weighted average method using multiple regression analysis showed the highest accuracy for hourly $PM_{10}$ concentration, and the cluster weighted average method based on relative humidity showed the highest accuracy for daily mean $PM_{10}$ concentration. However, the result of ensemble spread analysis showed better reliability in the single weighted average method than the cluster weighted average method based on relative humidity. Thus, the single weighted average method was the most effective method in this study case.
