  • This study has been carried out to investigate Dam Su ( 痰嗽 ) by referring to 22 documents. The results were as follow ; 1. Dam Su ( 痰嗽 ) is caused by Dam ( 痰 ) made of irregular meals, Bi Hu ( 脾虛 ). Bi Seop ( 脾濕 ), Sik Juk ( 食積 ). 2. The symptom of Dam Su ( 痰嗽 ) is as follows ; Dam Chul Hae Ji ( 痰出咳止 ) Hung Kyuk Da Man ( 胸膈多滿 ) Da dam ( 多痰 ) Dam sung ( 痰聲 ) 3. The treatment of Dam Su ( 痰嗽 ) is as follows ; Chi Dam (治痰) Gun Bi Jo Seup ( 建脾燥濕 ) Chung Pae Wha Dam ( 淸肺化痰) Sun Gi ( 順氣 )

Polyclonal Antibody to a 37-kDa Recombinant Protein Derived from Bovine $20{\alpha}$-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase

  • We prepared the polyclonal antibody anti-$20{\alpha}$-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD) against the recombinant full-length protein bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD in Escherichia coli. The specificity of anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD was demonstrated using Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells transfected with recombinant bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD and bovine placental tissues. According to western blot analysis, anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD specifically recognizes the 37-kDa protein bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD. The protein is not present in untransfected CHO cells. Anti-$20{\alpha}$-HSD also recognizes a specific protein in the ovaries and placenta of other animals. Immunostaining was used to detect expression of bovine $20{\alpha}$-HSD protein in the cultured luteal cells during the estrous cycle later.

  • Polycarboxylate type superplasticizers(PC) have got widely used for making not only high performance concrete but low grade concrete as well. It is known that fluidity of cement with PC is affected by the characteristics of cement especially sulphate ion concentration and hydration activity. But the characteristics of PC also affect the fluidity. The fluidity of cement mortar with various types of PC was measured and critical dosage(CD) and dispersing ability(DA) was calculated. CD and DA is strongly dependent on the type of PC. And the variation of fluidity on time was affected by the type of PC also. So, it is advisable to investigate the property of PC before production of concrete and adjust it to meet the requirements of concrete depending on the materials, the time of transport and so on.

Isolation of Bacteria from Chunggukjang Prepared by Rice Straw and Identification of Protease Secreted (볏짚 청국장 발효 세균 분리 및 분비된 protease의 확인)

  • To isolate bacteria secreting protease, which can dissolve fibrin efficiently, we prepared chunggukjang using rice straw and isolated, preliminarily, approximately 100 bacterial stains. Their capabilities to dissolve milk protein as well as fibrin included in media were then examined and finally, five strains named J1 - J5 were selected. Among them, J-4, which is close to bacillus subtilis, showed highest activity for fibrin dissolution. Proteases secreted from the J-4 strain were partially purified from culture supernatant using DEAE-sepharose column chromatography and identified with SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Three proteins were subjected to analysis with MALDI-TOF and PMF (Peptide Mass Fingerprinting). 41.9 kDa protein was identified as a neutral protease. On the other hand, 45 kDa protein turned out to be bacillopeptidase F, with a molecular mass of 91.7 kDa, indicating that partially purified peptide is a degradation product.

Hydrolysis of DFP Using Cu(II)-Lactic Acid and Cu(II)-LMWS-Chitosan Chelates (Cu(II)-Lactic Acid와 Cu(II)-LMWS-Chitosan 착물의 DFP 가수분해반응 연구)

  • Chelates synthesized with Cu(II) ion and lactic acid or chitosan were applied to the hydrolysis of organophosphate simulant, DFP (diisopropyl fluorophosphate). Under the homogeneous reaction condition, Cu(II)-lactic acid chelate hydrolyzed DFP with the half life time of 37.1 min. Cu(II)-LMWS chitosan chelate was synthesized with 1 kDa molecular weight of chitosan, which showed low solubility, and then crystallized. The half life time for hydrolyzing DFP using Cu(II)-LMWS chitosan was 32.9 h indicating that the reaction rate is enhanced as much as 16 times more than that of using 18 kDa chitosan-Cu(II) complex. Under the homogeneous reaction condition, the half life time of Cu(II)-LMWS chitosan was 8.75 h. Therefore, we found out that the solubility of Cu(II)-LMWS chitosan makes the difference in the reaction rate as much as 4 times.
